Had a really nice stay here! Well located in Vik and the breakfast is awesome.

The hotel was easy to find and had a large, convenient parking lot. The steak at dinner was delicious. Next to the hotel, there's a sweater specialty store with a good selection and reasonable prices, perfect for souvenirs.

Nice hotel on the main route into Vik. Hotel staff were very attentive and set up a child’s bed in the room in advance of arrival. Plenty of parking, self service gas station across the road and several restaurants nearby.

We got one of the suites, very nice. Had a tub and two TVs (one was broken, but hopefully they see this post as I forgot to tell them). The room was HOT, so pack light pajamas and open a window. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable. It was nice that it was located right in town, there are local restaurants, shopping, and grocery options.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Kria. The room albeit a bit small was appointed well enough for us. The staff was lovely and very helpful. One neat thing about the hotel was the onsite game room where they have a pool table, ping pong, air hockey and dart board.

I can not say enough about this Hotel! The location is perfect if want to see the Northern Lights. The staff at Landhotel are amazing. Adel helped us map out all the must see places and then told us about ones only the locals know about. The food at Tindur was delicious. Erik’s recommendations were on point every time. Can’t wait to come back!

The newest hotel on our Iceland adventure, it opened in July 2025. You walk in and can smell how new it is... very modern facilities, spacious rooms, a comfortable bed, Smart TV, and a very complete breakfast. I highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ion. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the lava spa was very relaxing. We had a great dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The staff was very kind and gave us some great local recommendations for the next stage of our trip. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights, thanks to the wake up call from the front desk.

If you're sensitive to smells, definitely don't stay here. The sulfur smell is overwhelming; it woke me up twice in the middle of the night. The water also has a strong sulfur smell. Writing this review reminds me of that stench, and it makes me shudder.

I went here on a school trip an it’s a classic youth hostel. Rooms of 4 and the beds are nice but I have seen better. The shower does smell a bit like H2s which smells like rotten eggs but it’s unnoticeable. The cheapest and the coziest choice of all 4 hotels/hostels/guesthouses we have visited. Good choice to spend a night after the Golden Circle before heading to Vik.

Beautiful hotel with near the national reservation. Hotel is cosy, it feels more like a holiday colony than a hotel rooms feel seperated so you don't feel crowded. Breakfast was great. My only suggestion would be walkin showers foe the rooms we had a showerbath combo. With some luck you can watch the nothernlights in a very clean jaccuzi.

We stayed here for one night as part of our tour with Trolls. The room was spacious with a comfy bed and all the toiletries. Loved the shower!! Breakfast was also very nice 👍 would recommend to anyone who’d like to stay here for short term.

The hotel is located in the center of the town. Very easy access to the hotel. Nearby there is a grocery store and the fantastic Valhalla restaurant. The hotel rooms are clean and tidy. Guests have at their disposal HotTube and a restaurant. Staff very friendly and helps with everything. I recommend.

Eco friendly hotel. But great place if you want to see the Northern lights. We had gone out looking for them, and on our return, was surprised to see them above the hotel.

Only stayed for one night but had a great experience. The hotel staff were always super friendly. There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel along with a hot tub. There are also a few restaurants/shop only a 5 minute walk away.

We stayed in a triple room which was big though shows it’s aging and required some improvement. The breakfast was great with variety of selections. Loved their different flavors of yogurt. The location of this hotel is great. It’s close to route 1. Nearby there is a Lava Center which is well worth a visit.

It was an okay stay. In my opinion, the best part of the stay was the nice staff! The rest of the hotel is OK, but not great. We spent 270 USD on the room with the view over the river, unfortunately this stay was not worth it. We booked the room with the view over the river, unfortunately we did not see much of the river as it was dark most of the time. So do not bother booking the room with the view...

This is a cosy place to stay with access to a nice town and some excellent walking. Also convenient for exploring the national park. Relax in the hot tub before going for a drink and dinner. You must eat here! The food is excellent.

Convenient location for our travels, we spent the night at the campground portion. Showers were nice and the kitchen area was nice. However, the washing machine was broke and took a long time to wash our load of laundry.

Nice campground right in town. Heated kitchen area with plenty of tables and a couple of hot plates and sinks. Three showers in an open area with shower curtains. Everything was clean.

The bedroom size is just perfect. The compact kitchen is super helpfull to do a good meal (you can find everything you need there: cutlery, pan, salt, oil, etc). The bedroom has heater inside the toialet and nearby the bed, and it worked normally.

It has all I need, private bathroom, kitchen. There’s grocery stores nearby. And stuff is very nice and helpful!

The hotel is lovely and they'd decorated it with fairy lights for Christmas which was cute. However, the woman at reception (in charge?) was quite unwelcoming, which set the tone for the rest of the staff - curt and not a smile between them (with the exception of the lovely South American man). We loved our stay at Hotel Ranga. Truly a small luxury hotel. Nice comfortable rooms, great serene locations. We loved the observatory for star gazing and also saw a bit of northern lights. What stands out though is their professional hospitality and the service. They are all very willing to help. Very good food. My husband and I stayed here for two nights and had a lovely experience. The first night we had the pleasure of attending the star gazing in the observatory with an absolutely wonderful astronomer. He was so knowledgeable, and seeing the stars that clearly was beautiful. An amazing place to stay after a long, adventurous day relaxing in the sauna and hot baths is the perfect way to unwind. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options and is a fantastic start to the day. Complimentary coffee, cookies, and fruit available throughout the day are a wonderful bonus. Boutique hotel just outside Selfoss in the middle of a picturesque location nestled in the hills. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped. The sauna and the hot tub are exactly as advertised. One of best hotel in Golden circle. The hotel have great location which is next to historical church and peaceful surroundings. It great for relaxing and aurora hunting.

We could not been any happier with this hotel. It has matched our expectations. It has a beautiful setting and lovely staff. The grounds, especially the historic church, are well worth seeing. The place was very clean and very close to Seljalandsfoss - a great place to stay if you’re touring the south coast. Staff was also very helpful - I left my earbud on the bed and they kept it for me to pick it up on our way back to Reykjavik x Only complaint is the drain was quite smelly when we got in. Would be great if the staff could air the toilet a bit before the next guest!

Nice hotel which is reasonably close to the airport. Shuttle service (one way) from the hotel to the airport is a bonus. Too bad there's no shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Not sure why. Dinner at the restaurant was good, and is the only dining option available. We didn't see any restaurants within walking distance. Our only complaint is that our room was very warm even with the window opened...

The hotel is located in an isolated position in the countryside near the village of hvosollur. There is a restaurant inside with prices in line with Iceland. In the morning there is an excellent breakfast buffet with sweet and savory. The room was clean and well heated. Great for those who love nature, you need a car to get there.

This was a unique stay, giving off a camping vibe. I was surprised there wasn't any staff on-site to greet us. Instead, they left the key in a common area for self check-in, and there's a number to call for assistance, so definitely have a phone plan with calls included. Staying at Aurora Igloo was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland. Even in winter, the igloo was cozy and warm, with three heaters inside. I booked the igloo with private bathroom, which was spacious and well-equipped. Check-in was easy and the hosts responsive when contacted. I would definitely recommend stopping for a night here on your south coast adventure!

I spent one night here in January, luckily, we managed to catch the northern lights as the location is great to see the auroras. the igloos are very clean cosy and warm, and the toilet and shower facilities were very clean too. thoroughly enjoyed my night there, would deffo go back x

It was a bit pricey, but it was the most special accommodation of my life.

I don't know if we got lucky or not, but watching the northern lights dance all over the sky while sitting inside our warm clear igloo was incredible. Comfortable beds, easy check in. No complaints. Also id say if you can spend the extra money, they private shower igloo is well worth the cost. If you don't want to pay the extra its still plenty worth going to. Truly incredible experience.

This place is amazing! We spent one night in an igloo with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and nice, it was so great to have a coffee and tea after a freezing day. We took a ferry to Westin Island and saw the loneliest houses. The hotel breakfast was great, they even baked pancakes 🧇, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Definitely worth it!
