Baia del Godano Resort & Spa in Capo Vaticano

The hotel accepted only wire transfer to cancel my balance 6 days in advance of my arrival. Unfortunately my daughter had a health issue in our home country and my wife and I returned home immediately after, canceling all the hotels on our trip. Some of them asked documents to refund, as flight cancellation/ new flights tickets/ hospital verifications…THE ONLY HOTEL IN OUR TRIP THAT DID NOT RECOGNIZED WHAT WE HAVE PAID WAS “BAIA DEL GODANO”. I understand general policies. But I would suggest travelers being careful with reservations and pre payments. And also understand the hotel attitude.

The beach is very small and dirty. Took over an hour each night to get dinner to the table. Food was passable at best, but not filling and not flavourful. We walked down the beach for 10-15 minutes and found a beach front bar/restaurant. That is where we ate lunches and kepted ourselves from starving. The hotel enforces caps for the swimming pool and charge $2 per person. Towels for the pool are not included. They charge $10 per person per day. The hotel room is not cleared or cleaned as it is too small. The sheets are rough and old. The hotel itself is run by men who ignore the customers. Asked for 2 small gelatos for my kids. He hands us large. I said I ask for small and her responded "no problem, just take the large". At check out we were charged $24 for 2 large gelatos. I told the clerk what he did and she shrugged and responded "did the kids eat the large gelatos"? What was I going to do at that point? We could not wait to leave. Asked front desk to find out how to get to Tropea as I knew it was close. Was told I have wifi and to get a cab. That was it. No suggestion of how much or who to call or anything. They couldn't care less. Worst experience we had in all of Italy. Never go here, trust me.
