Hotel Stabia in Castellammare di Stabia

Buyer beware! This hotel practices some deceptive crap! We were part of a bus group that arrived and stayed at this hotel. Some of our group received very nice updated rooms with ocean view and ample space. However, some of us were put in outdated non-renovated rooms with back street or courtyard views! Our room was the size of a broom closet with nonstop sewage smell from the old toilet (no pee trap) and more mildew than grout in the super small bathroom! The AC cooled the window sill and that's where it stopped. At night (around 1130pm or so) we had the pleasure of listening to the staff dump bottles and trash for the better part of an hour through our open window, since the room smelled so bad! My mother's room was a bit bigger, but her shower kept overflowing into the room! Our shower barely drained, so we showered with flip flops on our feet. Our towels were old and worn. Some had stains. The bed had a big lump in the middle and the mattress felt very dated. We all paid the same as part of the travel group. Not sure how they decided on who gets the disgusting rooms! My husband and I own a hotel and we'd be ashamed to rent out a room like that! We complained 3 times and we were brushed off! All they did was put some caulking over some of the mildew in the shower the next day. They do not have any pictures online of these outdated rooms, so not sure how they decide who gets them. Russian roulette, I guess!
