Reviews
We arrived and had the pool to ourselves. Just before dinner we saw the chef outside our room picking herbs for our dinner. Bliss.
The dinner was exquisite. One of us had the vegetarian tasting menu( €120)and the other had the mix (fish and meat €160). Each course expertly put together with the finest touches to each one. Everything from the vegetarian menu is from the garden - heaven. The service is wonderful. Lots of dishes have a story which they tell you - it makes you appreciate the food more.
The hotel is family run - set up by a passionate couple who love nature, fresh produce and people. You can feel it.
The rooms are classy and the amenities slick. The breakfast we chose to have in our room and it was delicious and perfect. So much choice.
Only thing I would say is the wine is very expensive for a glass and the beer too.
There are beautiful hikes around which we enjoyed.
If you want to go anywhere it is about 20 minutes down the mountain first and some very sharp bends but it is worth it!
1 point they should improve is insulation towards the rooms. With closed door and window, it should be completely quiet in the room which wasn't the case: There's some noise from the restaurant and the airco isn't the most silent one either. The basics of a hotel is night rest so that's the only reason why I don't give 5/5 for all. I want to repeat: The rest was just perfect!
This was one of the most exquisite properties I've been to, and was truly a 5 star experience in every way. The restaurant on site is Michelin rated and is worth the price. Breakfast was included and the quality, choices and volume were beyond every expectation we had going in. The staff were warm, attentive and respectful, and made it feel like we were on a private resort. The gardens on the property provide the food and flowers used by the hotel & restaurant and the smells were incredible. The patio overlooking the mountains was quiet and lovely, and the pool was heated, crystal clear and beautifully maintained. We will be recommending this property to everyone travelling to the Amalfi area and hope to return someday soon.
The property is remote but that’s what makes it so special
Breakfast was out of this world
VIP treatment for the entire stay
Recommend hands down!
Stay for dinner - it is very special
our stay at Laqua was simply amazing. The view, the place, the service, the small details, the herbs/vegetable/fruit garden - everything - was beyond our expectations.
