Just back from a 10 day stay in Hotel Oriente. We stayed last year and returned for another stay. While the rooms are spotless and comfortable and location is excellent we have certainly seen a little deterioration in the hotel. The exterior was extremely shabby with equipment thrown on roof terrace. It also needs an upgrade with regard to painting the exterior and general maintenance. The beach was small and some sunbeds were broken and uncomfortable. On one occasion the toilet, which is appalling, was not even working. The breakfasts were not the standard of a 4 star hotel with one bowl of fruit each morning from a tin and pastries with no allergen labelling. The balconies in the rooms were covered with a type of astro turf which were covered in leaves and seeds from the outside trees and were never cleaned. I would be hesitant in recommending this Hotel to anyone in future but I have to commend the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

Basic rooms
Our view was amazing room 219 however the wake up each morning from 6:15/6:30 am with tables and chairs and could even hear the chopping for the breakfast being prepared made this room not the best. I don’t want to be woken up each day whilst away at that time. Small balcony.
Not much to the breakfast service so we only used it twice.

Outside seating areas of the hotel looks neglected and all the cushions on the seats had been put into storage and I assumed this was as coming to the end of the the season however when I private party booking arrived all these re appeared just for them. We was there for a week along with other paying guests but nothing out for us.

Says bar service but we was told 6-11pm it was most nights 6-10/10:30 and if you ask for a drink before or after are told no one available to get it even though there was usually someone about and could be a bit rude as if we was asking for the world and just wanting a glass of wine or a beer.
All drinks at meal and bar are just added to your room bill with no price list and also was told by a waiter at the meal he didn’t know the price of the wine. You can only pay at check out and check the bill as lots of people had issues and as we didn’t really keep track we had no idea. Also charged for water with the included meal.

There is a mini bar in the room with a few things in but no prices so we thought the water and soft drinks would have been for free as no where to get a soft drink in the day as stated above but they are charged and also others had issues with being charged for drinks that were not even in their bar (beers and they was non drinkers)

Evening meal was also provided 7-9pm had a choice of a 3 things to pick from each course each evening and was nice enough but we ended up going out for 4 of the 7 as wanted a bit more choice. Usually a fish, meat and veggie option.

The location is what makes this place as the train station as just across the road and the lovely town a 5 min walk plus a 10 min walk to the beach.

I wouldn’t stay here again due to the lack of amenities and the outside areas looked like they needed a clean in parts.

The hotel is well located beside the train station and with a small private equipped beach (navette service included). The service at reception is good!

However, the rooms are not big. I noticed they try to save money on equipment (tv, room) and breakfast (not very good for a 4 stars hotel). Don't get me wrong, they are doing their job here but with a small investment in some points it can bring much more value for customer here. Currently I don't see it as a good value for your money.
Service at restaurant should be reviewed! Kind of rude and not proposing desserts, digestif or coffee after diner (probably rushing to finish service by 9h30). The food could be improved since for the same price you have better options in Vico.
