Hotel Orsa Maggiore in Anacapri

Impossible to fault as a base for exploring the length and breadth of the island which is beautiful. We were immediately given a wonderful welcome on arrival by Luigi and Louisa which set the tone for the whole week, with also Sylvia, Franco, Daniel, Giovanni (and the owner Toni) all being incredibly engaging and helpful at all times. Sylvia and Louisa on reception were very helpful suggesting where to have an evening meal, booking the restaurant and organising to be taken and collected whenever possible. They also gave great recommendations as to where to visit and how to get there. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable with a large terrace with a gorgeous view across the Tyrrhenian sea towards Ischia. There is a lovely pool, towels are provided, also a bar with waiter service. There is a very convenient bus service which stops just outside the hotel which can take you to the Blue Grotto and also into Anacapri and on to Capri. It’s an easy 10minute walk to Anacapri though, and only about a 3km downhill walk to the Grotto. I’d suggest a torch for walking back from Anacapri at night. All in all a gem of a hotel with possibly the best staff we have ever met. We will definitely be staying again.

This was our fourth stay at Orsa Maggiore and once again it was just wonderful. Capri is a really special place and staying at Orsa Maggiore makes it just perfect. We stayed for 10 nights and even though this was our fourth stay on the island we still found things to do that we hadn't done before. The whole team work so hard especially Silvia, Antonella, Luisa, Franco and Luigi who all go above and beyond to ensure that everything is just perfect. The housekeeping team also kept our room spotless. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at Orsa Maggiore and will always return. Thank you everyone for a lovely holiday.

We are so greatful for our weeklong stay at Orsa Maggiore. We just had the best of times - everything was even better then we expected. The hotel interior is so tastful. Beatiful pool area. Exceptionell staff so friendly. Perfect breakfast and lunch. The views from the hotel are not of this world. Highly recommend this little gem!! Also nice to be in more authentic Anacapri and not in the hectic and international Capri.

Great place to stay for a first-time visit to the island of Capri. Located about a 20-minute walk from the main shopping area of the town of Anacapri, it’s an intimate hotel of around a dozen rooms. The service here is familial, cordial, helpful. From Sonya at the front desk, to Luigi, the driver to Franco, one of the servers, everyone is helpful. Breakfast is served off the lobby and included in the room rate. You request eggs and coffee from the server. The hotel provides transportation to and from the ferry and other times upon request. A fee will complain that the location is too remote, but with western views of the Mediterranean Sea and the island of Ischia, it was amazing. Highly recommend!

Orsa Maggiore is beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Anacapri Within it’s lush surroundings there is an infinity pool that relaxes you the minute you lay eyes on it. It’s close enough to all of what Capri has to offer but far enough away from all of the madness. More importantly, the lovely owner Antonella has exquisite taste, no detail has been overlooked. She and her entire staff are warm, attentive and thoughtful. Silvia the concierge is exceptional, she is multilingual and you can be sure any of your needs will be well taken care of. Their friendly driver Luigi picked us up from the ferry, helped us with our bags, and comfortably delivered us to the hotel. Nicco and Franco took care of us at breakfast and lunch, which might I add had plenty of wonderful options. We have been to Capri many many times and we wouldn’t go anywhere else now. We have finally found “THE” perfect place to unwind and enjoy this magical island .

have been travelling for 35 years and this is probably the best hotel I e ever stayed at ever. Period. About 10/15mn walk from Anacapri town, and incredible views over the sea. The hotel is incredible gorgeous, and room are super comfortable. The toiletries are absolutely gorgeous too! The restaurant is beautiful, great buffet breakfast, and the outdoor restaurant is just incredibly beautiful. The pool is amazing, and they have a wee gym/spa. But what really makes the difference is the staff. Every single one of them is the most friendly, helpful, accommodating and lovely. I know where I’ll stay if I ever go back to Capri.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff are amazing and couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is delightful and very relaxing. Very quiet with a lovely pool. The room has A/C and a balcony overlooking the sea. Great view of the sunset. The location is perfect if you want to be out of town. It's about a 15 minute walk to Anacapri but the hotel provide a shuttle if needed. There is a regular bus service to various locations in Capri with a bus stop outside the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel

What a great little find! Everything was just perfect and wonderful! We had just a classic room but even that had sea view with a little terrace. Beautiful pool too. Perfect. We will return next year!

We stayed here for 5 days in June and and it pains me to give away the secret but this hotel is absolutely faultless. It’s spotlessly clean, bright modern rooms, and the best lemoncello spritzes I’ve ever tasted. We’ve stayed in the top hotels across the world but what this hotel has got is impeccable service, warmth and attention to every detail. They simply couldn’t do enough for us without being obtrusive. We are going to Be Coming back here like a shot as we’ve left feeling absolutely fantastic. Wi-Fi is great and so is lunch, they don’t do dinner but Luigi will give you a.lift anywhere you want to go. An absolute gem and I envy anyone who gets to go next. We had room 34 with sun beds on the balcony and a gorgeous view. Don’t hesitate just book it
