Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel in Amalfi

Exceptional property, luxurious rooms and professional, gracious service. My daughter got sick on a holiday weekend and the staff managed to find a physician to come to the room to treat her. They went out of their way to make the stay comfortable and special for us. The room was well appointed and always cleaned or turned down in an inviting way. They have a firepit and rocking chairs out in the cloister area - which was very charming and decorated for the festive holiday season.

We had an incredible stay here. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Everyone spoke good English. The breakfast was exceptional (our package included this). We were there a total of 7 nights. There is a small workout area - a few cardio machines, weight rack, and one Techno-Gym upright multi-machine - the view makes up for any deficiencies there :). From the street at sea level to the hotel there are 210 steps - they are illuminated at night so good visibility and you feel safe. The restaurant in the hotel is top notch - we had one of our best meals there. The bar is excellent - great snacks and a solid selection of spirits and beer - both alcoholic and NA. If you need a quick lift somewhere they have a shuttle. One of our party needed something from a local pharmacy and they ran out and picked it up and settled up on the $$ later - awesome customer service. We went on a hike and they gave us sunscreen and insect repellent for our trip. We did a tour of the grounds with a local Franciscan Friar and he told us all about the history going back to the 1200s - VERY COOL. Beautiful fresco depicting Peter reaching out to Jesus on Lake Tiberius next to a super old church on the grounds - they had multiple weddings while we were there and that was neat to watch. Really can't say enough good things - I would put this at the top of my list for anyone considering a stay in the area - good central location. Great wi-fi throughout facility. Pillow menu if you need choices.

Had a little misunderstanding in the very beginning because of a mistake by ******* posting a wrong photo for the room originally booked. However, the hotel was able to adjust and give me the upgraded which match the photo originally booked. The breakfast was amazing and the staff and service were excellent.

It’s expensive, but this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. There’s so much to explore, and there are nice touches everywhere such as books, artwork and many places to sit and relax. The pool is great, as was the restaurant by the pool (special shout-out to the team that worked there). The location is also very good, close to town but far enough away that’s it’s peaceful. The hotel is higher up so the views are epic, and the breakfast was varied and delicious. Our room was also nice, although the bathroom is getting a little dated.

The Anantara was incredible!! Beautiful room, incredible views from every location at the property, wonderful food, fantastic bar service and selection, and the most caring and friendly staff I've encountered! Parking was available and easy to use (Valet). The hotel offers complimentary hourly transportation to downtown Amalfi. Laundry service was efficient (but expensive). Overall, the 5-day stay was simply incredible!

The staff were very friendly and warm.
However, the photos of the accommodation were taken with a wide-angle lens, making it appear larger than it actually is.
The actual room was smaller than expected, and even with just one open suitcase, it was difficult to move around.
If they had provided a more accurate description of the room's size and layout, I would have chosen a larger room.

Although the accommodation was much older than the photos suggest,
the overall stay was satisfactory thanks to the hotel's location, views, and the historic architectural beauty of the building's interior.

Simply calling it perfect is an understatement for this one of a kind resort. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. From the most beautiful room “Suite del Priore” (100% recommend) to the exceptional staff and amazing gourmet food ( which was freshly picked from the Chef’s garden & locally sourced), nothing was less than magical. It is the jewel of the Amalfi Coast resorts.

A perfect blend of history, luxury & comfort, I would highly recommend Anantara when staying in Amalfi. Location is superb, with a private walkway ( Path of the Monks) to the city center and you’ll find breathtaking views all around - from the carved in infinity pool, taking a stroll through the gardens or having a quick workout at their panoramic outdoor gym. The highlight of this resort (and their are plenty) has to be the original cloister and church. Absolutely remarkable. The staff have done an exceptional job keeping up such jewel; humble but elegant decor throughout, still keeping true to the charm of the convent it once was that you feel as you’re walking back into time.

Fantastic hotel with exquisite service. Great for couples or family. Location provides some privacy but it is still convenient to get to Amalfi. The team at the hotel helped us every step of the way in terms of excursions or any needs around the property. We cannot say enough good things about our stay!
