Parco dei Principi Resort & Spa in Ischia Town

We arrived and were shown to our standard room in this so called 4 star hotel. It was dark dingy and the window faced a wall. We were so disappointed we asked for a sea view room- all this took ages and they wanted to charge an extra 60 euros a night extra for 5 nights- ie 300 euros. Eventually after much "arguing" the manager "John" settled at 180 euros- still extortionate but the view and extra space meant we really enjoyed our holiday. We went with Citrus and despite the promises of entertainment etc - only on one night did someone play the piano for about 2 hours- also the hotel taxi failed to pick up some other guests twice and they were left waiting not knowing what to do and eventually caught the bus back. We enjoyed the food but in no way is this a 4 star hotel and I feel Citrus has exaggerated this hotel's facilities. All the transfers were excellent- the Italian Citrus staff were brilliant.

It's not a 4 star it's 3 at best. Air con is turned off for whole hotel t 6am so I woke up everyday at 6.30am because it's so hot and they don't have any fans (I am not a morning person). Double beds aren't double beds they are 2 singles put together. Food is terrible: at breakfast you have to boil your own eggs, it is the worse breakfast I think I have ever had. Pasta for dinner everyday and it's rarely nice. Here are 2 amazing members of staff that make you feel really valued, the rest of the staffs Service is shocking, non existent or rude. There is no mini bar it's just an empty fridge. It's almost impossible to get water at the hotel and it's almost an hour round trip to the shop. There is nothing near by so poorly located you can get a bus every 10 mins but sometimes the busess are so full you cant get in. I can't wait to leave this hotel. On the up side it's clean and has great views
