Excelsior Belvedere Hotel & Spa in Ischia Town

This hotel is magnificent! The grounds are amazingly beautiful. The views of the sea and the mountains are spectacular. The hotel staff is so warm and welcoming. The pools and the private beach are wonderful. The breakfast is exceptional in variety and food quality. There was a piano player every evening from cocktail hour until 10:30 pm. The food in the Belvedere Restaurant is great as is the view on the dining terrace. The location is great, just a short walk to a lovely town filled with cafes, shops and restaurants. This hotel is a very special place.

This was our 5th stay at the magnificent Excelsior Belvedere Hotel. I can only say how very lucky we are to have enjoyed another immaculate experience at this stunning hotel. It has everything we could hope for - not only beautifully landscaped gardens with a stunning pool, new infinity pool and indoor spa pool, but the private beach is also to die for. Unlike the more stony sands on the southern beaches (Maronti in particular), the sand on this beach is just perfect, and having your own beach bar looking out to the Bay of Naples is priceless. But the most important thing about the hotel is the staff, who all go that extra step to look after you and ensure you have everything possible at your fingertips. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Special thanks to all the lovely reception staff (sorry I don't have your names), reservations manager Antonio, all the restaurant staff including our friend Enzo, and especially the manager Alessandro. Special mention also to Giuseppe at the beach, who was always there to ensure our sun loungers were positioned one in the sun and one out of the sun (for my husband!). Thank you also to the reception team, who helped us to book 2 sessions of tennis at the nearby club (where they also loaned rackets & balls), and above all to hotel manager Alessandro, who arranged for us to stay in our room until 3pm on our departure day, which made a huge difference to us. I spent a lot of time researching the best place to stay on Ischia. I was back and forth using social media as my guide. Landing on Excelsior Belvedere hotel and spa was 100 percent the best choice in my opinion. Let me tell you why—perfect location because the access to town is walkable within 20 minutes, oceanfront with its own beach club that allows swimmers to gently slope into the sea, a historic property built by a lord, showcasing grand but not stuffy public spaces and lovely rooms, a free breakfast with over 20 different fresh baked pastries daily plus additional menu items, a view of the gulf of Naples that allowed us to see the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the loveliest, most helpful staff. I cannot forget the pool, thermal bath and spa. I truly wish someone had told me all this so I would not have spent countless hours questioning this choice. I forgot to mention Gino who plays the piano in the evenings in the comfortable sitting area. He takes requests. We had a blast singing along. This is truly a gem. We are so thankful to the staff. They are incredibly helpful and made our stay so special. They went above and beyond to make our 30th wedding anniversary trip here unforgettable. A few special notes, when we arrived there was a lovely welcome gift. Also one morning at breakfast they prepared a special croissant filled with chocolate because they heard it was my favorite. In On our last night there was a note and a lovely parting gift. These are just a few examples of how the staff went out of their way for us. Thank you! We are beyond grateful. We just spent 7 nights at this hotel and had a great experience. The service is excellent with every single member of staff making you feel valued and special. The room was spotless and the daily refresh was perfection. Blanka the Concierge was of great assistance to us in finding our way around and organising an island tour. We ate in the hotel on 2 evenings and experienced the Rabbit Tasting Menu on one of them: this is not for someone with a small appetite as it really is a mammoth meal. The beach club is a lovely way to spend some time watching life on the water and to swim in the sea. Giovanni is very helpful in helping set up your chosen sun lounger and parasol on either the sand or one of the two pontoons. Life by the pools is also inviting with comfortable loungers and a choice of spots to sit in. The indoor spa pool was a lovely way to finish the day as the autumn afternoon turned to early evening.

Where should I begin? This magnificent hotel is a paradise on earth and you van step into a old world and elegance. We spent an incredible week at the Excelsior Belvedere—days we will never forget. Our room with a sea view, the hotel’s stunning décor, the garden, the pools, and the spa—everything was perfect. I also loved the private beach so much. The breakfasts were delightful, and the four-course dinners were incredible experiences. A warm thank you to the charming Giuseppe, who took such good care of us at breakfast and dinner, and to the hotel manager, Antonio—you were so friendly, approachable, and attentive. We hope to visit you again; until then, you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

This place is an amazing resort on Ischia. They have their own private beach, several pools, and an indoor thermal pool. Their gardens are also beautiful. Our room was very nice, very clean, and well managed. We spent 4 nights here in September and it was hot and humid. We were at the pool or beach everyday after exploring Porto, Ponte, Sant'Angelo or Lacco Ameno. The beach club restaurant was great - we ate a late lunch there every day. It's so nice you may not want to leave. Staff were very service focused and gracious.

Our 3rd visit and we love it. A beautiful garden, a beachside cafe, friendly staff and walking distance to lots of restaurants. We feel transported back to an age of elegance.

On our first visit to Ischia we stayed here seven nights in the Admiral’s suite and were pleased. Prior to arrival Antonio and staff answered all of our queries. Upon arrival the shuttle from the port, checkin, tour and suite were all terrific. Twice daily housekeeping was outstanding. The sandy beach at their club was a pleasant surprise. The pool was a nice temperature and always clean. The warm inside pool was a nice experience as was a spa treatment. As a Grand Hotel we were happy to see so many families here. The location has a great view across Naples Bay and is easily walkable anywhere in Ischia town. The included breakfast was delicious as were our dinners and lunches. In addition to Alessandro the owner, the entire front desk team was so friendly and helpful, as was Enzo, Guiseppe and the two Christians at the pool bar, and Eva. Highly recommend.

A two week Italian honeymoon ended here at The Excelsior Belvedere Hotel. Everything was perfect including the staff, food, room, spa, pool, cocktails .... The staff really stood out! A big thank you to Giovanni, Enzo, Giuseppe and Christian for taking care of our every need. The service here can not be matched. The beach is a gem as well as the restaurant right on the beach. Everything we had to eat was fresh and local. The spa offered many services. We enjoyed a couple's massage. Don't miss the hidden pools! This island is a treasure and the Excelsior is the place to stay if you have the chance to visit. We will be back! Thank you for an incredible trip.

Perfect best kept secret hotel. Located metres from the main shopping street and beach, there is an air of calm and old school luxury at every turn. The food is delicious and there is something for every palate. The staff are trained in the arts of of refinement and fun. We have had the perfect two weeks. Gardens, beaches, foods, endless yachts and gorgeous people. Oh and Gino the piano player who is an artist. Thank you.
