A lover of cod, for years my wife and I have gone to Somma Vesuviana to savor the flavor of its cuisine. In fact, years ago, I dared to bring along a couple of friends who, after sampling the various dishes, called Adriano every year (December/February) and said, "Let's go to Somma." It so happened that, to please my wife, I agreed (two years ago) to go to lunch at the IL GIGLIO ROSSO restaurant, a stone's throw from our house, and as they say... Often we can't see what's right in front of our noses. Extremely courteous staff, delicious food, and cod cooked by a great chef. After the third trip, since our friends, mentioned above, asked us to go to Somma Vesuviana, my wife and I decided to take them to the Giglio Rosso, and they agreed with us that it wasn't worth traveling so far when GOODNESS IS WITHIN OUR REACH. The appetizers were excellent, the first course excellent, the second courses excellent, and the desserts superb. Finally, I wish I could find the words to describe the impeccable service and the friendliness of the owners, but I'll refrain from doing so to avoid being flattering.
