Hotel Minerva

The absolute best hotel in Sorrento. The view is the most beautiful in the whole area. The breakfast is AMAZING. Excellent service all around. Would definitely recommend for an incredible vacation!

Wonderful hotel! Amazing view, very comfortable rooms, excellent food and great and personal service. Ten minutes walking to the centre of Sorrento or to the small harbour. Would definitely recommend.

Minerva is a high end hotel with beautiful rooms, two pools, great dining and service and the most outrageously beautiful views of Sorrento.

Just returned home from a fantastic week at the Minerva in Sorrento. We had a high room with a balcony which was clean and comfortable with everything you'd need. It was air conditioned to a lovely temperature and there was no noise at all from the air conditioning.

We arrived at 9.30pm which was later than the usual dinner time but the waiters and kitchen staff stayed on to provide us a lovely meal. We woke up early (always do on the first day), stepped out onto the balcony and saw the sun rising over Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius which was amazing (photos shared here).

Breakfast was well organised with plenty of choice. The food for dinner was fantastic, very tasty and varied with plenty of choice.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and all spoke very good English. We paid for half board so only had to pay for our drinks at the end of our stay, which were very reasonable. I had heard that Sorrento can be a little expensive and was expecting a higher bill but was pleasantly surprised. After dinner the hotel provided relaxing entertainment in the form of a singer or mandolin player.

The hotel had free wifi which had good reception everywhere. We booked two excursions through the hotel which were well organised with good tour guides. We could have booked them through Thomson but the information on their website was poor so I looked at the hotel website which was more informative. I emailed my excursion requirements, they replied promptly with booking confirmations and I paid for them at the hotel when we left. We did the Amalfi Drive and Pompeii/Vesuvius which were excellent.

We plan to see more of Italy in the coming years and if we ever return to Sorrento we will definitely be staying at the Minerva again.

Hotel room very clean. Fantastic balcony with quite amazing views of Mount Vesuvius and Sorrento. The food is first class with the head waiter Nino outstanding.
