Locanda Navona Guest house

Really great stay! Clean, great sized room, amazing pizza places all around, perfect location for sightseeing!

This is a small "residence hotel" with 6 rooms. We had a beautiful room which was recently updated. It was very clean, with a very comfortable bed, free fast WiFi and refrigerator. They provide free bottle water, orange juice and snacks. Room is cleaned when you want, including every day.

The location is just 2 short blocks from Piazza Navona, where everything happens at night. Our room overlooked via della Pace and via di Tor Millina which are lined with cafes and restaurants. All afternoon into the late evening these streets are bustling with people, singing and music. Luckily the room also had interior sound proof doors which made sleeping wonderful.

On the corner of our street was an Italian deli, Antica Bottega dei Sapori (ancient shop of flavors). We bought delicious cheeses, breads and wine here to enjoy in our room by the open window.

The best restaurant in the area is Saltimbocca (across the street from the front door). It offers authentic Italian food, all delicious and plenty of it. We went here three nights of our five night stay. The other restaurants lining these streets and in the piazza are more slanted to tourists with higher prices and less quality food.

Ask the manager for his dining suggestions. He can also arrange tours with Carmilla of I♥️Tours. She is excellent and gives wonderful tours for you and your group. On our Coliseum/Forum/ Palestine Hill tour, she brought a coliseum historian with her and interpreted his information. We had an outstanding tour and didn't wait in lines.

My recommendation, if you want to stay in the "heart" of Rome near the Piazza Navona, is the Locanda Navona.

We had a lovely time here. The food was good, the ambience too but what it made the dinner superb, was to have to sit so close to another table, to a couple of Norwegians on vacation as us. We talk the whole time and was one of those moments that you cherish, because was unexpected and magical. Give it a try and break the four wall and talk to the people seated next to you, it might surprise you!

The food was wonderful! We had the penne ala vodka and the fettuccine bolognese. We had the sicilian style broccoli as a side. While we didn't care for it it was cooked exactly how sicilian broccoli should be (I googled it after dinner.)
The servings were large and the service was helpful. Molto Bene!

Great prices and location. Small rooms but who cares? You're in the heart of Rome
