Reviews
Negatives; rooms are not silent. We can hear other peoples talking, or other bathrooms sound as flushing etc. Room was very cold at nights.
The rooms are best described as basic in that they feel empty and have zero real modern amenities beyond the absolute minimum. The single, solitary piece of silver lining was that the lobby was extremely nice, albeit a bit worn.
The beds were terrible. Short of sleeping on a floor, they were the hardest thing that I've ever slept on. It was like wrapping wood in a sheet and calling it a bed.
The location is alright. It's in a quiet, slightly run down part of town, but it's in walking distance to some historically significant sites. However, there are numerous historically significant sites in Rome, and there are even more hotels near them.
The service was absolutely atrocious. It's by far the worst that I've seen anywhere in the world. Not only was my room not ready by a reasonable time when I tried to check in, but they actually had the audacity to berate me for "waiting too long" in the waiting room that's adjacent to their lobby...as I waited for them to finish preparing my room. Expecting a jet lagged guest to either leave their baggage unattended in their lobby, or to lug it around Rome for hours isn't realistic, and is fundamentally unprofessional and out of touch w/ reality, as is berating guests.
Rome is a great city w/ numerous wonderful people, and you should absolutely visit it. However, there are definitely better hotels in Rome, especially for the price of this one, and those hotels are just as close to the city's great attractions. There's no reason to stay here.
