Xenia Guest House in Rome

The Xenia guest house is in a very good location, close to the river and opposite the Ministry of Justice. It is easy to reach by public transport. Many of the city's famous sites, including the Vatican or the Colosseum, can be reached on foot. The guest house is on the fifth floor of a grand, mansion block with a huge arched door, and a prominent statue in the central courtyard which gives an encouraging impression for new arrivals. The lift is old fashioned but works well (but you need to close both sets of lift doors - the wooden doors and the metal grill door). It was quite a novelty for us. We were welcomed warmly by Maria, who had arranged to meet us there and gave us a hot drink on arrival. Also she gave us a city map and some useful tips about exploring the city. She offered to send us a few recommendations for local restaurants, and supermarket . We visited four of those recommended, including one called Cambio, in Trastavere, about 10 minutes' walk away, on the other side of the river, which we visited twice, especially enjoying their beef tartare and beef cheek dishes and live music from 9.00pm. Our room was large and very clean, and very quiet and cosy even though located on a main road. There was no writing desk in the room but we used the shared lounge area with tables and chairs. just outside our room. The bathroom with shower were very spacious and clean. Thanks to Maria for her helpful advice to save us time. We had a comfortable stay and would definitely recommend this guest house.

This is a very cute spot in the heart of Rome! We arrived early so Maria let us store our bags there for breakfast and check in early at 10:45ish in the morning! The room is spacious enough for this location and I love the big living room where there is a coffee machine, kettle, and a few seating spots.
The location is very convenient and we mainly travelled on buses to get to various destinations. It’s perfect for a short stay in Rome!

Everything!! Room was small but very clean and cozy and the staff was very friendly, courteous, accommodating and warm. We loved the building and location!

The location was fantastic. The room was very clean had everything needed including a large bathroom. Maria was the ultimate host, helping with dinner reservations and transportation information.

Maria was terrific- we arrived later than expected and she was waiting for us. Very clean property and convenient location. Highly recommend.

I will definitely will stay there again. And I just wanted to say that Maria, property manager was amazing. Very helpful and supported. We loved the place.

The guest house was situated 10 minutes from most of the major sights and so close to the beautiful river.
