We had a wonderful greeting from our host George, the place is cozy, clean and comfortable. Quiet and welcoming. The breakfast is done family style and a wonderful way to meet others and share experiences.

Great location, Marcos was an outstanding host, the room was of a perfect size. I would have like to get clean towels at least once since we stayed for 5 days. Also city tax had to be paid in cash, which is unusual in hotels. We plan to come back.

This is a small B&B of only 6 rooms that occupies the upper part of a historic building in Trastevere, next to the river. It has been in the owners' family for centuries, and is convenient to many attractions, as well as local eateries and bars. This part of Trastevere remains largely residential and reasonably quiet. There are several flights of stairs to get to to reception, and more stairs once inside, so it's not for travellers with mobility issues. Our room was to the rear of the property with low-ish ceiling and beams. It was a triple (we were a couple), so there was a lot of furniture - but it was reasonably spacious, cosy and quiet. The bathroom had separate bath and shower, and while generally clean it was showing signs of the busy Jubilee year and needed attention, including removing a few patches of black mould. Our room didn't benefit from pleasant external views, and the outlook from the bathroom to other residences would have been enhanced by freshening the flower boxes outside the window. Breakfast was good - boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt, breads, homemade spreads, cheese, etc - all served in a pleasant period dining room, providing opportunity to engage with others. There's a small reception/sitting area near the entrance. We appreciated conversations with, and advice from, owners Marco and Gianne - they know their neighbourhood, and Rome, inside-out. The manager George was also friendly and helpful. This was a memorable stay in genuinely heritage accommodation.

It was reasonably spacious, cosy and quiet. The bathroom had separate bath and shower, and was generally clean but showing signs of the busy Jubilee year, needing refreshment, including removing a few patches of black mould. The rear outlook could have been enhanced by replanting/removing some abandoned planter boxes. Breakfast was generous and convivial - fruit, yoghurt, breads, jams and spreads, cheese etc. All served in a charming period dining room, providing opportunity to engage with others. There is a small reception/sitting area at the entrance to the property. But, for us, the people were key to this place. We appreciatedd the company/advice of owners Marco and Gianne: they know Trastevere inside-out. Their manager George was also helpful. This was a memorable stay in unique accommodation.

The guest house is in an area ( Trastevere) conveniently situated for seeing the main Roman attractions. Its outward appearance may be a bit deceptive for North Americans as there is a definite air of decaying grandeur which can initially take one aback .
The owners and the staff are wonderful and can’t do enough to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The owner’s wife makes wonderful table linen as a hobby, which she sells at a very reasonable price. Since it is a hobby she has a very limited supply though.

Excellent location. Post is nice. The bed and pillows could use a little bit of an upgrade. Other than that, the room is clean and was an interesting place to stay.

We came for six days very unprepared. We hadn’t booked any visit, or guided tour and had no time to read / learn or properly plan anything aside from wanting to visit the main historical attractions and try some good ice-cream. The only really one good thing we did was choose Arco dei Tolomei Guesthouse. And that made all the difference. We were sent to our best meal in Rome on our very first evening and the following morning we sat with Marco, the owner who continued to help and plan much of our visit. The location is amazing, the facilities completing the antique surroundings, charming, clean, hospitable and comfortable (the bed was excellent!). Breakfast is an event: sitting all the guests together at a central table (again, lovely room!) with homemade jams and coffee to die for. The setting coupled with the owner's hospitality and recommendations made us experience Rome more authentically than we had expected. Highly recommended!
