Hotel Museum in Rome

Great basic hotel for exploring The Vatican City and Rome. Ideally situated. Staff excellent service. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Hotel room clean and large as we had deluxe with the balcony. Honesty drinks cabinet. Breakfast was limited though tasty and well situated on roof terrace. Look forward to staying there again soon. Recommend.

Well situated for the Vatican. We could see the city wall from our balcony and we could walk to St.Peters within minutes. The staff are very helpful and friendly and breakfast is very nice. Many restaurants very close. Perfectly situated.

Great location and extremely freidnly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is a bit old but the price is very good.

The location is great and very convenient for getting to the Vatican, but the rooms are quite small.

I stayed at Hotel Museum for the second time and once again found it to be a wonderfully cozy and welcoming place. The staff are exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always going the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay.
The room size was ideal for my daughter and me—spacious enough without feeling overwhelming. The hotel’s location is fantastic, just steps from the Vatican. You can even see the Vatican walls right from the front of the hotel, and the Vatican Museums are conveniently located just across the street, up the stairs.

Getting around is easy too—the metro station is about a 10-minute walk away, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.

One of my favorite parts was enjoying the morning breakfast on the rooftop terrace—a perfect way to start the day with beautiful views. Throughout the day, the hotel offers complimentary pastries, tea, and various coffee’s which was a lovely touch.

I will definitely be returning whenever I’m in Rome!

For a 3* hotel it’s perfectly fine, just what you need as a base in an excellent part of town.

The hotel itself - rooms were a decent size, beds were very firm with small/firm pillows. We didn’t find the bigger spare soft ones until the day we left, look behind the big mirror for a hidden cupboard!

No tea/coffee facilities in the room but there was a machine on the ground floor to serve hot water.

Rooms were clean and beds made/towels changed daily. Generally decent standard of maintenance although the air conditioning in our room was broken.

Given you are two streets from the Vatican in a major capital city it can be noisy at all times of day but with windows closed it drowned almost all of it out.

Had breakfast at the hotel buffet once and it wasn’t something we bothered with - too expensive and compared to the huge variety of places nearby, you can find better for cheaper.

Staff were perfectly friendly. We didn’t really need them for much.

There was a “city tax” of about €30 that needed paying in cash before departure.

Really though the best part of the hotel is the location. Short walk from the Vatican, short walk from Ottaviano metro so good to get around the city. The airport bus from Fiumicino that is advertised as “Vatican” stop is a good 15 mins walk though, with difficult streets to navigate

The Vatican Museum is right at the door, how convenient! Although the room is a bit small and the facilities are a bit old, the location is really good. The front desk was also very welcoming.

Very good location, just opposite the museum. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Vatican Museum and because they could receive us after midnight. If you don't have these requirements, there are better options in Rome for similar price. Continental breakfast, very simple. Room very old and basic. Seems overpriced for what it offers. But Rome is overcrowded with tourists, so not a surprise.
