As a DIY budget traveler, the room good for 1-2 nights rest. Arriving by train from Milan Centrale, is a 5minute walk downhill towarda the Lake. Its the orange building above Bar La Tosca. Booked the room with the partial view; you can see a glimpse of the mountain and Lake. Even during off season (Winter) there were soo many daytrippers during day time. By staying overnight, you can enjoy thepeaceful surrounding early morning before 9am and after sunset. Room was sufficiently equiped and clean. The only thing that I would improve is using a lighter smell air freshner in the room, during the stay had to put the air freshener in the

Beautiful Swiss hotel with a peaceful atmosphere. Very clean room, comfortable bed, and excellent service. Perfect for a relaxing stay.

The biggest highlight was the transportation, but the hotel facilities were very basic, like a 1-star hotel. However, the breakfast was a real standout – very rich with many kinds of ham and croissants. It was one of the best breakfasts we had during our stay.

The so-called 'sea view' was actually just a tiny glimpse of the sea from afar, across a road. Room facilities: The curtains weren't very blackout, especially in Room 5, where light from a large LED screen on the street outside shone in all night, making it impossible to sleep. The hairdryer was incredibly weak; it took half an hour to dry my hair. Breakfast was very basic and had to be eaten at another hotel dozens of meters away. Varenna itself isn't particularly scenic, but it's convenient for transport, making it good for ferry-hopping between towns. I spent days trying to find a satisfactory hotel in Varenna before my trip, only to discover upon arrival that there are actually quite a few B&Bs and hotels along the lake that just aren't listed on Ctrip.

The breakfasts were good. The best part of the facility was the location: close to train station and close to ferry terminal. Of course Varenna is simply a lovely town!

## Facilities
The room size is quite small, though we could fit two 24-inch suitcases, leaving virtually no walking space. The bathroom has a wet/dry separation, but the shower stall is tiny; if you're a bit on the heavier side, turning around might be a challenge.

## Cleanliness
The room was quite clean, which is what you'd expect for the price.

## Environment
The hotel is located on the edge of the town's bustling area, right by the main road and very close to the pier, about a 5-minute walk away. It's also not far from the town's main dining and leisure district, reachable in 10-15 minutes on foot. Walking along the waterfront promenade by the pier is very pleasant. The room's window insulation is good; and of course, there are very few cars passing by at night, so it didn't affect our sleep.

## Service
The hotel's front desk is not located in the same building as the rooms; it's about 200 meters away, a 3-minute walk. When we arrived, after checking in, a young man at the front desk helped us to our room building and even assisted with carrying our luggage upstairs (there's an elevator for luggage, but guests have to use the stairs).

## Overall Impression
Generally speaking, the hotel has a good location, convenient for taking boats from the pier. The room size is small, and the interior facilities feel similar to a budget hotel chain like '7 Days Inn' in China. However, the cleanliness is good. Personally, I felt the price was a bit high, but it might have been peak season, and most small towns in Europe tend to be like this.

I emailed them before my booked date to let them know that i needed to cancel because of medical emergency, they did not consider giving me a refund and instead they wanted to know if im still coming so they can free up the room. No consideration for a refund because they said i am on penalty for not showing up even though i advised them beforehand that it is because of medical situation.

the staff make you feel like you are staying with family. easy 2 minute walk from the train station or ferry. room has plenty of room and the bathroom is large. great food in the ristorante

We didn’t stay in the hotel, but watched a football match using their Wi-Fi. The staff could not have been more accommodating. So friendly and helpful, was a lovely evening in their garden.

Exceptionally nice and helpful staff. Basic rooms but very clean with comfortable beds and nice towels and linens. Very convenient location and great breakfast.
