BEWARE, IT'S A SCAM!
The owner rented us part of a farmhouse for the nights of December 31 and January 1, and we paid €2,200.
On December 30, at approximately 6:00 PM, he informed us, with an apology, that the house was no longer available.
He offered us a solution that didn't meet our needs, so we asked for a refund, which as of now (January 3) hasn't arrived.

WARNING: IT'S A SCAM!
Our group of friends and I contacted this gentleman who booked us a farmhouse in Borgo Fontaccia (Volterra) for New Year's Eve, but on December 30th, he told us the property wouldn't be available due to some Germans staying with COVID (a clearly poorly made excuse, given that currently, in 2024, it's possible to go out wearing a mask even if you're positive). We later discovered that the house had been rented to two other groups, and who knows how many more. He then disappeared, disconnecting the phone, and hasn't yet refunded our money.
ABSOLUTELY AVOID

We stayed three nights in La Casa del Pittore with two kids (one baby). It is run by a nice Italian family. We had a three bed room in the top of their house, with a large comfortable double bed and and one single bed. The room was very clean, and quiet (just som noise from cars when the window was open). It had a refrigerator and a spacious bathroom with bath tub. My five-year-old daughter was happy for the availability of toys in the kitchen and garden.
We also appreciated the location just outside the city walls. It was nice to see something other than the tourist filled historic center. There was a very nice local cafe around the corner where we got breakfast (perfect cappuchino, panini and cornetto) at an affordable price – recommended!

The person who answers the number indicated gave me a very bad experience. Once we arrive at the place and have paid the full amount of the accommodation, he writes me a message that he can no longer accommodate us and disappears without answering and without returning the money.
The incident does not concern this structure, but I think it is useful to inform you that it is the same person with the same telephone number! And above all, below the positive comments show his name, that of his wife and that of his mother! Before booking, do a google search on his name and surname and you will discover some good ones!

I did not stay in this structure but I accompanied the owner by car in the historic center.
He made me get a fine for a restricted traffic area and disappeared after requesting a permit by getting the license plate wrong. Experience to forget

I got a double charge on my credit card and I had to start a dispute with mastercard, I highly do not recommend the place, be carefully!
