Check in process was not foreign friendly. The room was very old style with no private bath/ shower. Furniture with slight damage and worn carpet. 1960-1970-ish hotel. Hotel app needs work, not easy to use. Restaurant staff were very attentive. Indoor and outdoor hot spring bath were nice.

This hotel is located in Izuyama, Atami. You can enjoy the view of Sagami Bay from the lobby area (and from the rooms). When I arrived at the hotel parking lot, there was a slight smell of sulfur. The lobby lounge offers a welcome drink service (red and white wine, cold drinks, snacks) from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can drink coffee and mineral water from the machine at any time. The coffee was lukewarm, but the wine service was good. You can also choose amenities and colored yukata. There is a foot bath, which I don't usually use, but this time I had wine and hot tea while bathing my feet after the bath. The foot bath was very popular, and quite a few people used it as soon as they arrived. The room on the top floor, the 4th floor, is Japanese modern and overlooks Sagami Bay. There is a chair set on the veranda, and coffee, tea, mineral water, and juice are provided for free. There are two towels and keys, which is convenient. The bath was a large public bath. The open-air bath was also large, and many yellow flowers were blooming, surrounding it. Looking up, there were also pink camellia flowers blooming. The hot spring was colorless and transparent. There was also a lotion remover oil and foam face soap in the wash area of ​​the bath. The wash area was equipped with amenities such as lotion. We had dinner at a restaurant with an open kitchen that had a hot plate. We were seated at the counter by the window. Drinks were ordered by mobile phone. It wasn't that troublesome. The four appetizers were not very impressive. The Yutoriro-style bouillabaisse was delicious, but it was disappointing that it was lukewarm. Since it was Atami (Izu), I was expecting sashimi, but it was carpaccio. Since it was a hot plate dining inn, I thought they would ask me how I wanted the meat cooked, but the teppanyaki rib roast was brought out shortly after the carpaccio arrived. It was well done, which was also a bit disappointing. I said that I wished they would have asked me how the teppanyaki chef wanted it cooked, and my partner said, "But it's delicious!" with satisfaction. The tempura was freshly fried, and we enjoyed the ebo-tai tempura. The sakura shrimp chawanmushi was unique. The rice was Uwajima-style ochazuke, which was pickled tai with sesame sauce and was quite delicious. The pineapple for dessert was ripe. Overall, we were satisfied with the meal. My partner said, "The food is great!" The alcohol was a bit expensive (5,000 yen for a bottle of wine), so we ordered a few local sakes for 900 yen each. For breakfast, we sat at the counter where the kitchen and teppan were, but there was no partition between the kitchen and the counter, so we could see the kitchen, the staff working there, and the large dishwasher right in front of us, which was a bit disappointing. My partner was also disappointed, saying, "You can see right into the kitchen. I don't like seats like this." Breakfast was a Japanese meal. The highlights were the fried egg cooked on the hot plate by the chef and the rice cooked in a clay pot. There was a menu and it said to eat the second bowl of rice with dashi ochazuke, but the rice was just under three bowls for two people, so we didn't have ochazuke. There was no atmosphere of being able to ask for a refill, so we just ate it as it was. It was a normal Japanese meal. The service of the hotel staff was good both at the front desk and in the restaurant. This time, I was able to change the check-out time to 11am by adding them as friends on LINE, and it was nice to be able to relax in a beautiful Japanese-modern room.

We stayed in a Japanese-style twin room for one night. We checked in by obtaining a QR code in advance. The elderly front desk staff was not very accommodating. We only got vague answers to our questions, important items were omitted, and we had to go and get a QR code paper when ordering drinks at dinner. It is a difficult facility for middle-aged and elderly people. No wonder there are so few elderly people. The food was average. My husband's teeth were not in good condition, so we asked them to change the meat dish to a different menu, but they refused to do it two days in advance. The only relief was that the meat was soft, which we were not expecting. It is not the hotel's fault, but there was a female guest who brought her smartphone into the open-air bath, so we politely warned her, and she ignored it. I have been to many hot springs, including some with tattoos, but this was my first experience. The lobby seems to have been renovated, but the bathroom and other areas feel old. The shuttle driver's service was perfect. It is no exaggeration to say that this hotel is owned by him. We were taken care of when we got off at Izu-san Shrine. Since the car is small, you may not be able to reserve the time you want, so be careful. I've written a lot about this, but I think it was good value for money.
