I love this place, so quiet.and relaxing. The staff are friendly. The food are delicious too! :)

It's apparently a 20-30 minute walk from Isawa Onsen Station, but if you call, they'll come to the north exit of the station and pick you up in a minibus, even if you're traveling alone. They'll drive you back every 30 minutes between 9:00 and 11:30.
I stayed in a cheap detached room, which a previous review had described as a "haunted room" (lol). The next room was a girls' get-together, with walls so thin you could hear their breathing...and it seems my snoring woke them up in the middle of the night.
The rest of the experience was average for an Ito En hotel, but the Japanese meal was good, including the sashimi and chawanmushi. The half-buffet portion seems to be small, though.
I was also surprised that there was no water coming out of the faucet in the bathhouse changing room. When I was leaving, the previous guest complained that the water wasn't working in their room, which surprised me.
Overall, the Japanese food was excellent, and I had a good impression. Since it was a weekday, it seemed like there were a lot of solo guests. Next time, though, I'll avoid a detached room.

I accidentally knocked over a glass, and they quickly and without hesitation dealt with it. This inn has great staff, so I'm glad. 😅

The building is old, but the guest rooms and public baths are well-maintained.

We stayed here for our annual family New Year's getaway.
The room was clean, and everything from the hallway to the entrance was warm, keeping the winter chill at bay. It seemed like my grandchildren were comfortable there, too.
The indoor smoking area is a welcome addition for smokers.
This was my second time here, and I'll definitely be staying here again next year.

I booked the standard plan on a weekday. It's a bit pricey even for Itoen, but it's great to be able to stay in a former luxury hotel for this price. The room was spacious, and the TV and air conditioning were new and comfortable. The karaoke room was also spacious, clean, and nice. The creative Japanese set meal was very delicious. The buffet was average, but there were many homemade items, so I was satisfied. The detached rooms aren't that expensive, so I'd like to stay in one next time. It's a shame that Kofu is just an ordinary town, including the bath, so the location isn't very good. Satisfaction will probably depend on the price you pay, but personally I was very satisfied. Booking through the official website is the cheapest option. The Shingen Mochi theme park is also nearby, but it's popular and time-sensitive to get a numbered ticket for the all-you-can-fill-a-bag event.

It was a Japanese-style room, but since I was staying alone it wasn't a problem, but the sliding door to the Japanese-style room came off every time I opened and closed it. For dinner, each room had a designated seat, but I had to wait until there was a table. One of the good things about Itoen Hotel is that they offer free drinks at dinner, but it's 90 minutes long.

I made a reservation because I was attracted by the all-you-can-eat crab dinner. Dinner was more average than I expected. They had sashimi and fried food, but the variety was limited and none of it was warm. Breakfast was even more mediocre and disappointing. The room was quite old, and the toilets, bathrooms, and other plumbing were particularly old and disappointing. The view wasn't great even on the higher floors. The bathroom was average. There was an open-air bath, but it was quite small. The parking lot was a little ways away across the river on the opposite bank of the hotel, and it was paved with gravel, so it was hard to find where to park. What was good was that karaoke was free and you could sing the latest songs. Table tennis was also free and the area was spacious and easy to play. As it's part of the Itoen Hotels, the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning.

This was my 33rd stay at the Itoen Hotel (62 total). I stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath (12.5 tatami mats, non-smoking) (top floor, sixth floor) in the main building. At check-in, I was told that the water in the room's open-air bath was not a hot spring (it was a circulating, filtered bath). My mother, who accompanied me, was thrilled by the view of Mount Fuji's peak from the bathtub. I also enjoyed the room's open-air bath, so I bathed in it once after dinner, once early in the morning, and once after breakfast (in addition to the large public bath before dinner). The price was ¥13,915 per night (plus a 150 yen bathing tax). Incidentally, the cheapest hotel room was a Japanese-style room (10 tatami mats or larger, non-smoking) in the annex (¥8,415 plus a 150 yen bathing tax), so it was a bit pricey. I like watching the Isawa Onsen fireworks from my room, so I stayed at the Shinko Hotel in Oedo Onsen Monogatari in Fuefuki City last year and this year. An upgraded room (without an open-air bath) cost 19,200 yen (plus 150 yen bathing tax) per night (D+ on select days). I don't think you can enjoy the fireworks from Hotel Kimiyoshi's room. Dinner. 90 minutes. Reserved seating. We sat at a table for two. The food was pretty much the same as other Itoen Group hotels. The only things I noticed were fried oysters and wine. There was an ice bar, but it ran out and wasn't replenished. I visited by car. My car navigation system couldn't find the address or phone number. I called the hotel from the grounds of the Isawa Onsen Tourist Information Center (closed) to ask for directions. With Hotel Hatta in sight, keep to your left and head straight down the one-way road next to the canal. I was told that the hotels are located in the following order: Hotel Toyo, Hotel Kaiji, and Hotel Kimiyoshi. This hotel joined the Itoen Group in March 2023. Overall, the atmosphere is clean and bright. After reading the reviews here, I found the staff's service to be not as bad as the reviews suggest. I wonder if things have improved since joining the Itoen Group.
