During the off-season, the hotel upgraded to a high floor room. The service was good and responsive. The hot springs were great and private. It is incomprehensible that such an expensive hot spring hotel does not include dinner. Since it is expensive, it should provide value for money and provide breakfast and dinner. Instead of saving dinner costs, there are no other good places nearby.

The room is very large, with floor heating, a separate hot spring bath, separate wet and dry bathrooms, pajamas, socks, and home clothes that can be worn in the hotel. Full butler service, free shuttle to the airport, separate private rooms for dining, waiters will introduce the dishes one by one, and there will be a different menu every day, which is worth recommending!

This was the best hotel experience during my Hokkaido trip. I stayed for two nights and it was definitely worth it. The hotel is right by the sea, with ocean views from the room. The private hot spring bath was fantastic, and the breakfast and dinner were much better than at Noboribetsu Ryotei.

The hotel's location is super convenient. After getting off at Hakodate Station, you can take buses 95, 95A, or 96 right outside the station (get off at Yunokawa Onsen Station), and the hotel is directly across the street. On the last day of my trip, I wanted to experience one of the top 100 hot spring hotels. Upon entering, staff knelt to greet me, and I was offered homemade matcha and cookies. The hotel had a rustic charm. Entering the room, I was immediately struck by its cleanliness and spaciousness. The staffs there are super nice, they will try their best to support you when you need to make a reservation at a restaurant. They will also recommend what is the popular cuisine nearby. The food at the hotel is also decent if you want to dine in. The choice is limited but quality is good.

The hotel has a beautiful environment, and the exterior and lobby are lovely. However, the rooms themselves are a bit disappointing; the decor is quite dated, but the two-person room is very spacious.

I was completely misled by Ctrip into booking this hotel. It's not a newly opened hotel in 2025 at all; it hasn't been renovated in a long time, and it's definitely not a five-star hotel.

Zaborin Onsen Ryokan truly exceeded our expectations! The beautiful natural scenery was incredibly refreshing, and combined with delicious meals, a clean and spacious room, and delightful indoor and outdoor onsen baths, it made for a perfect vacation experience.

Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The autumn scenery along the way was breathtaking. This adjective also describes the Michelin-starred dining experience; I personally preferred the breakfast, which was exceptionally refined.

A truly wonderful experience. The setting is private and the rooms feel nestled in the woodland. The service is friendly, polite and attentive. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the indoor and outdoor spring pools were a treat. The food was innovative and tasty with beautiful ingredients. Zaborin has entered into the ranks of one of my favourite ryokans in Japan. We visited in the midst of a very hot summer and even though the ryokan was not air conditioned and we were so warm the whole time (except in the room) we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
