Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Bessou Ao No Za, Chitose1 / 13High rating
9.5
Hokkaido, Chitose, Shikotsukoonsen 🧭 Map
I booked this hotel because I couldn't see the 'Song of Light' during my visit, and it also conveniently tied into my travel itinerary, which was great. Service: We received welcome drinks upon check-in, and the room had welcome fruits and champagne 🍾. All minibar items and room service orders were complimentary (though we didn't use them, the gesture was much appreciated). Cleanliness: I walked...
During the off-season, the hotel upgraded to a high floor room. The service was good and responsive. The hot springs were great and private. It is incomprehensible that such an expensive hot spring hotel does not include dinner. Since it is expensive, it should provide value for money and provide breakfast and dinner. Instead of saving dinner costs, there are no other good places nearby.
The room is very large, with floor heating, a separate hot spring bath, separate wet and dry bathrooms, pajamas, socks, and home clothes that can be worn in the hotel. Full butler service, free shuttle to the airport, separate private rooms for dining, waiters will introduce the dishes one by one, and there will be a different menu every day, which is worth recommending!
The price is the most expensive hotel in Zhiqian Lake, and the hardware conditions are OK! It has everything it should have! But it is not worth coming! The hot spring water is great However, the toiletries are particularly bad! They are all their own brand products. I used them to tie my hair and combed out a lot! Hotels over 3,000 yuan all use pola, but I have never used such a bad one! Such an expensive...
Everything is good, the food is very exquisite, the sense of ceremony is full, but the food is exquisite, the actual taste and ingredients are ordinary, no merit or fault. The overall experience is affirmed. Before booking, I saw in the comment area that the charge for bringing children is no more than 1,000 yuan per person. When I settled the bill, I was shocked to see the price. One child added almost...
The scenery is first-class, the private bath is very large, there is boating on the lake, which needs to be booked in advance, and there are many things to eat on the lake. The hotel's own catering is also very good, and teppanyaki needs to be booked in advance. The lounge sommelier is very professional, he is an old grandfather.

The location is tranquil, and both the facilities and service were excellent. The two-meal Kaiseki dinner was incredibly delicious. Our entire family had a wonderful and memorable vacation there.
Fantastic service and great place to get away and relax
The room was very cozy, the service was attentive, and the attention to detail was excellent. Highly recommended.
I just booked on Ctrip, and the hotel promptly sent an email asking about any food allergies and my arrival time. Sure enough, as soon as my chartered car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a staff member was already there to confirm my details. The check-in process was handled entirely by a dedicated person in the lounge area while I sat comfortably on a sofa, enjoying welcome snacks. It was a really...
This is a family trip for two adults and two kids. And we stayed in the hotel for 7 nights, bfast and dinner included. It's apparent in the booking that we will have kids in the stay, and yet either Trip.com/hotel charged us meals for 4 adults for the entire trip. We ended up overpaying A LOT and wasting A LOT of food because the kids couldn't finish the set meal. Yet the hotel refused to adjust ...
Very cozy hotel..: good for chil and relax…

Stunning sea views, delightful private hot springs, attentive service, and an abundant array of delicious food. An excellent experience overall.
The hotel has a not to be missed ocean view, but the food variety turns out to be the disappointment. Not so much of choice when comparing it with other ryukan. Another places for your attention is that the toilet and the room has a very strong and unpleasant urine smell. Though I cannot find any uncleaned spots in the toilet, the odor is simply untolerable. The onsen at the balcony has human hair...
i couldn’t believe this is real, own private open-air bath, ocean view. such a comfortable place for catching the moment. thank you, everything was AMAZING
This was the best hotel experience during my Hokkaido trip. I stayed for two nights and it was definitely worth it. The hotel is right by the sea, with ocean views from the room. The private hot spring bath was fantastic, and the breakfast and dinner were much better than at Noboribetsu Ryotei.
The hotel's location is super convenient. After getting off at Hakodate Station, you can take buses 95, 95A, or 96 right outside the station (get off at Yunokawa Onsen Station), and the hotel is directly across the street. Conversely, you can catch a bus from the hotel entrance directly to JR Hakodate Station. This is incredibly handy, especially given how expensive taxis are in Japan. The hotel rooms...
At one glance, the room looks clean. But when open the cabinet and so on, it was very dusty. The room is big though with splitting into sleeping area, living area and bath area. The onsen in the room serve well that you can go in anytime you like. There is a Ramen shop nearby the hotel which within 5 mins walking distance and there is Lawson opposite the Ramen shop. Location is good and there is free...

Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort, Hakodate1 / 20

Hokkaido, Hakodate, 1 Chome-2-27 Yunokawacho 🧭 Map
Stayed here last week during heavy snowfall, and choosing this ryokan turned out to be the perfect decision. Check-in was detailed and thoughtful. The butler, who I believe was named Junko, spent about 30 minutes explaining the room, amenities, and house rules, using picture cards and translation tools due to limited English, which made the process clear and smooth. The room was cosy with a beautiful...
On the last day of my trip, I wanted to experience one of the top 100 hot spring hotels. Upon entering, staff knelt to greet me, and I was offered homemade matcha and cookies. The hotel had a rustic charm. Entering the room, I was immediately struck by its cleanliness and spaciousness. In the morning, I could see the sea and seagulls; sitting and sipping tea while daydreaming was incredibly relaxing
The hotel staff were polite and friendly, providing excellent service. There was a 45-minute private hot spring bath; the public bath was a bit small. The private hot spring area was very nice and clean. The room faced the sea and had a sea view.
A rare find at this ocean-view hot spring hotel! Soaking in the hot spring while gazing at the sea, daydreaming, or chatting is simply wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we had a dedicated butler who escorted us to the large lounge for check-in. While their English wasn't fluent, they could communicate in Japanese and Chinese using a translation app, and were very responsible in repeatedly confirming...
Sea view room, no choice, just enjoy it when you get in, and you can even feed the seagulls hahahahaha (secretly)
Wonderful sea view from rooms, hospitable service, great spring Evening is perfect except the dinner is a little overpriced. Don’t think it’s up to a Michelin one star standard any more.

FURANO HOTEL, Furano1 / 24
8.5
Hokkaido, Furano, Gakudenn Sanku 🧭 Map
The staffs there are super nice, they will try their best to support you when you need to make a reservation at a restaurant. They will also recommend what is the popular cuisine nearby. The food at the hotel is also decent if you want to dine in. The choice is limited but quality is good.
FURANO HOTEL in Hokkaido is a luxurious hideaway nestled in a secluded forest. The spacious and elegant rooms, many with balconies, offer stunning mountain views and starry skies, with occasional deer sightings – truly an immersive experience. The natural hot springs are private and uncrowded, making for a wonderfully therapeutic soak. Dining focuses on French cuisine, and the breakfast is fresh, abundant...
Very good hotel and staff, will come back furano and stay in this hotel
The hotel has a beautiful environment, and the exterior and lobby are lovely. However, the rooms themselves are a bit disappointing; the decor is quite dated, but the two-person room is very spacious.
Wonderful stay at Furano hotel with super white snowing view!
I was completely misled by Ctrip into booking this hotel. It's not a newly opened hotel in 2025 at all; it hasn't been renovated in a long time, and it's definitely not a five-star hotel.

Zaborin Hotel, Niseko1 / 30

Hokkaido, Niseko, Kutchan Hanazono 76-4 🧭 Map
We enjoyed a short, two-night stay at Zaborin Ryokan last weekend, and we loved every minute of the stay. The accommodations were exceptional! The suite was spacious at ~100 square meters (~1100 square feet). There was a private outdoor onsen as well as an internal onsen that we loved using. The living room allowed us to relax comfortably in the suite even though we did not use the separate dining...
Zaborin Onsen Ryokan truly exceeded our expectations! The beautiful natural scenery was incredibly refreshing, and combined with delicious meals, a clean and spacious room, and delightful indoor and outdoor onsen baths, it made for a perfect vacation experience.
Our second visit to Zaborin, this time in the winter. The place is truly special in the snowfall, with the illuminated trees providing a wonderful background. The service remains impeccable. The room is gorgeous, with its views to the exterior. The amount of privacy is amazing. Breakfasts and dinners are in rooms that are essentially private. We found the food better this visit. The preparation...
Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The autumn scenery along the way was breathtaking. This adjective also describes the Michelin-starred dining experience; I personally preferred the breakfast, which was exceptionally refined.
A truly wonderful experience. The setting is private and the rooms feel nestled in the woodland. The service is friendly, polite and attentive. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the indoor and outdoor spring pools were a treat. The food was innovative and tasty with beautiful ingredients. The hotel itself is made for calm and relaxation. Would love to visit again!
Zaborin has entered into the ranks of one of my favourite ryokans in Japan. We visited in the midst of a very hot summer and even though the ryokan was not air conditioned and we were so warm the whole time (except in the room) we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We hope to visit in the wintertime and hopefully their booking policy will be a little more relaxed as wintertime booking requires a minimum...

It was only for one night, but I woke up to a noise in the hallway around 8:30 in the morning. The apology was light, and even after that, I couldn't relax because I was talking loudly with other staff in the hallway. Other than that, it was good that the staff was able to respond politely to the sudden stay late at night, the parking lot was free, and the extension cord was already placed. If anything...
Had a comfortable stay, near to all izyakya. Kindly staff allow us to park motorcycle under cover space.
The building is like an old business hotel. The price was reasonable and it was about 8500 yen for a double. No meals, only without meals. The restaurant is nearby and there is no inconvenience. It's enough to stay.
Old eqiupment but friendly staff and convinience traffic.
Cheap and spacious. Look old but the room is okay considering the price. Small toilet through
