APA Hotel Sapporo Hosui Susukino Ekimae in Sapporo

We booked two rooms for one night on Feb 6 to enjoy the Snow Festival before heading to Niseko to snowboard. Rooms were $300+ per night. The outside temp was -16 C and the heat didn't work in either of the rooms (rooms 608, 609)! When we turned on the heat, cold air came out and made the room colder! I went down to talk to the staff and I was told they had reset the system and the heat would come back on. It never did. We slept all slept in very cold rooms - it was warmer in the hallway! 3

Second, every 5-10 minute there was a buzzing sound, as if someone's phone was on the floor and was receiving a text message - this was heard in both rooms throughout the entire stay.

Really disappointing. I would never stay here again.

Disappointing experience. Poor mattress and no meaningful support.

I’ve stayed at APA Hotels many times in the past and usually had great experiences, but this stay was extremely disappointing.

The main reason anyone books a hotel is to get a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, the mattress in our room felt collapsed and far too soft, and we both woke during the night in significant discomfort. The next morning my wife had sciatic pain and I had a sore back in a way I’ve never experienced before.

I raised the issue with staff and management, and while they acknowledged the bed was noticeably softer than another room, the only response offered was an apology. No refund, credit, or practical support was provided — just a token gesture of a few curry packets.

A little understanding and genuine effort to help would have gone a long way. Sadly, due to the lack of care shown, I won’t be staying here again or choosing APA in future.
