ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo by IHG in Sapporo

I vividly recall our check-in experience: we were supposed to check in at 12:00 PM, but due to a massive snowstorm, we were stranded at the airport right after landing and couldn't get to the hotel until 3:00 AM.

However, the hygiene, service, and environment were all excellent. It's also super convenient for dining, shopping, and taking the subway.

There's a duty-free shop right downstairs from the hotel, which was very handy.

The triple room is convenient for families traveling with children, but this room is genuinely small. It's the first time I've stayed in a hotel where I had to open my suitcase right by the entrance door in the hallway, leaving absolutely no space to move around and pack. Other than that, the location and transportation are quite convenient, and there are restaurants within walking distance. However, if it's snowing, don't even try to walk – just call a taxi. The sidewalks around here are perpetually covered in snow and ice, making it impossible to wheel a suitcase.

The room was very clean, a bit small, but we could open and place both of our suitcases. It was fine for three people. The service was excellent. For breakfast, there were both Japanese and Western options available, and we tried both – they were pretty good. Other than the small room, it's definitely Crowne Plaza standard.

This older hotel has really small rooms; with an extra bed, we couldn't even open our luggage. However, its location and service are excellent. The airport bus stops directly in front of the hotel, so you don't have to worry about snow when loading/unloading bags. It's perfect for a city walk to Odori Park and Tanukikoji. The lovely front desk staff helped us book a shuttle to a hot spring resort, and they even saw us off at the concierge the next day, offering hand warmers, which was a very thoughtful touch.

Excellent, highly recommended for families with children. Kids under 12 stay for free. An extra bed costs 1000 JPY. They also provide complimentary bottled water daily. The location is superb; it's right across from Deoksu Palace and just one street away from Daimaru Department Store. Plus, free luggage storage is available. Definitely a strong recommendation!

Nice Location, very convenience  to tourist area and shopping.  Staff NO smile is the only draw back, smile often make customer feel staff is friendly.  Convenient parking.

The room was tiny and not worth the price, but the location was great. The hotel is right outside the JR station, making it super convenient for shopping. Daimaru Department Store is nearby, and the B1 level has a fantastic selection of food brands, including Shiroi Koibito, and a food supermarket. After 7 PM, many fruits are half-price.

Decent stay at Ana. Hotel is quite dated, the rooms smaller than expected. Highlight is the breakfast. Location is reasonably convenient.

This hotel, despite being over fifty years old, is incredibly well-maintained. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. They even asked how we slept and proactively offered us lavender eye masks, which were really effective! The breakfast spread was also excellent. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel in every aspect.

Environment: The hotel lobby is spacious and grand. Check-in is on the 2nd floor, and there's a lounge area with sofas on the 1st floor.
Hygiene: Japanese hotels are always clean and tidy.
Environment: The service was excellent, and they even had a Chinese-speaking front desk. For environmental reasons, combs and cotton swabs aren't provided directly in the room, but you can ask for them at the front desk. This hotel also had a clear explanation of their room cleaning rules in the room, which was really helpful. I've always wondered how they clean and what I should be aware of.
Facilities: The only downside was that this particular room didn't have a ventilation system; the air conditioning was centrally controlled. It got quite stuffy at night, so I had to turn off the AC. The room size was also a bit small.
Overall, it was still pretty good. It's close to the subway, and you can get to the JR station via an underground passage. It's a bit of a walk, but it's great not having to walk in the snow during winter. Exit 21 is close, but the escalator only goes one way, so if you have luggage, it's better to use another exit.
