Kansai region, Kyoto, Nijojo-Mae Horikawa-Dori 🧭 Map
We cannot complain this hotel is perfect for travelers who want comfortable Western-style accommodation in Kyoto with easy transport access.
Also visitors planning to explore the city (walking + subway/bus).
May be less ideal if you prioritize luxury boutique vibes or expect top-tier spa/amenity experiences.
This was my boyfriend’s first time visiting Japan, and we came to Kyoto for sightseeing. The hotel staff were kind, and at check-in they upgraded us to a room on a newly renovated floor. The room was very spacious for two people, and the view from the room was amazing.
Even for me, living in Tokyo, the interior design and the hospitality of the staff really made me feel the true essence of Kyoto,...
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room faced the castle directly which provided a unique experience and enjoyable for people watching. We absolutely loved the bathroom layout and how spacious it was!
The area is very quiet and tranquil. The train station is located nearby and easy to get to with several restaurants in the area.
The hotel is located in the city center, directly opposite the tourist attraction Nijo Castle. It is relatively quiet despite being in a lively area. It is close to a subway station. There aren’t many shops nearby, but there are a ramen restaurant, cafe/bar, and a 7-11 as well.
The hotel building is relatively old, but it is well maintained. The renovated rooms in particular feel quite modern and...
The hotel room we were assigned was nothing like what’s shown in the pictures on Trip.com.
It was old, dimly lighted and amenities were really poor.
There wasn’t even a charging point on one side of the bed.
On the other, there was an extension adaptor that was fixed on the bedside table.
It looks really makeshift and was probably not very safe.
When I asked the receptionist about it, I was offered...

Located right next to two subway lines, super convenient for getting around. I stayed three nights; the house wasn't cleaned, but they provided towels daily, left at the door. Bottled water was only provided once. There's a Lawson and 7-Eleven nearby, and a super popular ramen shop behind the house—there's always a long queue even after 6 PM…
This is the oldest hotel I've ever stayed in, with no view whatsoever. There was only a small, opaque, outward-opening window. The room was stuffy, and when I asked the staff, they told me to open the window, but the noise from outside, including the trains, was just too loud. The central air conditioning system was incredibly basic, and the interior was extremely outdated! On Saturday, I saw two men...
Nice hotel, strategic location near station
Small hotel but ok
I booked five double rooms and one single room.
The front desk staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean.
I'd definitely book again if I have the opportunity.
Thank you!
The hotel is well located, although not near the city center, as it has a subway station right outside. In just two stops you're in Umeda, which is convenient for catching the train to Nara or Kyoto.
The hotel is fine; the rooms are standard for Japan and clean. However, the soundproofing from other rooms isn't great, and the mattress wasn't very good either.
Overall, the hotel is okay, especially...
Rooms are very compact. Toilets are slightly worn out and extremely compact.

Surprisingly, I really loved the breakfast selection and the shower in the room — definitely the highlights of my stay!
The room was more spacious than what I booked in Tokyo. The lobby is on the second floor, and communication in English was seamless. After seeing my passport, they even called over a Chinese-speaking staff member who explained the no-smoking policy in the room. The room was very clean, and the subway nearby was super convenient, just a 5-minute walk. The area is very bustling, with plenty of options...
Very convenient location, all you need just nearby.
Room was absolutely clean, amenities are good.
Staff could not be more impressed.
The room size is pretty standard for a Japanese hotel, but the location is absolutely fantastic! Turn left out of the hotel and in just 3 minutes you're right in the middle of Shinsaibashi (at the Miki Gakki instrument store). Turn right again and it's only a 1-minute walk to the Midosuji Line. Daimaru department store is also super close (to the left). Dotonbori is less than a 10-minute walk away...
The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for shopping. It's also not far from the subway, so getting around is easy.
This hotel is super close to Shinsaibashi subway station, which is incredibly convenient. After a long day of shopping, you can easily pop back to drop off your bags and then head straight back out. I highly recommend it! My only comment is that for families with kids, it seems like there are fewer family rooms available. However, one bed was enough for our family with a 10-year-old.

Kansai region, Osaka, Tanimachi, 1 Chome?2?10, Hotel Keihan Tenmabashi, 2F, Chuo, 540-0012 Osaka, Prefektura Osaka, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
The location is very strategic, just a short walk from the station. Dotonbori is easily accessible with only one train ride. The room is small, but it is comfortable and sufficient for two people.
Everything was fine except for the small room.
Aside from the room being a bit small, everything else was great. The location is really excellent – within 100 meters, you'll find a subway station, convenience stores, coffee shops, and a mall. There are also several restaurants nearby. Check-in is done via a self-service machine, and there's a Cainiao Express point nearby where you can send packages.
Hotel is older compared to other Keihan hotel nearby. However price is competitive. Hotel also offer luggage storage for travellers.
This old hotel is well-maintained and offers a convenient check-in and check-out process. If you arrive early, you can store your luggage at the hotel. The lobby provides amenities for guests to pick up. The room size is typical of Japanese hotels, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A solo traveler can comfortably fit in the room. However, the bathroom is relatively small. Despite this...
The location is great, right above the subway station.
Facilities: They do feel a bit old, but they're complete. The room size is quite cramped, though, but acceptable considering the price.
Cleanliness: It's pretty clean, but small rooms like these in Japan can easily have overlooked spots.
Environment: Not bad.
Service: The service was very attentive.

Relatively new hotel, no frills, good service. Late checkout available upon a reasonable fee.
The hotel is very clean. It's located in the city of Osaka, near Yodoyabashi subway station, just a 1-minute walk away. The hotel provides pajamas and all items you might need, so you don't have to bring them from home. The room was amazing, with big windows that made it feel even better.

Nice place to stay. Location is very convenient. There is a good supermarket next door. Rooms are clean. Furniture is a bit old and used, but that's ok. The bed is extremely comfortable. I think this is one of the best beds that I've slept on in hotels. The place is huge and many people stay in the hotel, so maybe number of amenities like laundry machines is not enough for such a big hotel.
The location is great. The neighborhood around the hotel is clean and easy access to metro. The staffs are nice and helpful. I will stay here again for next trip in Osaka.
Small, but clean and the staff were helpful. I would book it again!
The hotel is near the train station and there's a supermarket and family mart beside it. Convenient and clean! They also offer free breakfast in the morning (onigiri and tea/coffee).

Nice place to stay after the long day out from sightseeing and shopping
Extra good location near Dotonbori (5min walk). Lot of cafe, shops, money exchange, subway and railway stations, etc. Perfect for active travellers. Small rooms but it is normal for Japan. Strictly recomended!
P.S. Request for quiet rooms during booking. Rooms in front part of building are noisy.
The location was excellent, conveniently situated near Dotonbori and just a few steps away from the iconic Glico Man billboard. Our family of three booked a room with two double beds. However, the room was dusty, and we noticed particles floating around, which caused my son to cough. The hotel has self-service laundry facilities on the 7th and 8th floors. We tried using them but felt that no washing...
Great location, but the hotel has seen better days. The bed was uncomfortable, amenities were minimal, and I’ve stayed in college dorms that felt similar. You’re only given one key — lose it and you’ll be charged ¥3000. Not great value for the price.
It was nice to stay here. The location of the hotel is very nice, only 4 minutes away you will reach the Gligo sign, 7-11 under the hotel.
Good hotel, near the main area you want to be in!

Needs a bit of walking from subway stations. But reflected in the price of the rooms.
Was all amazing and would book again! Close to major stations and had all you need
A very nice hotel with friendly staff. They kept to our every need and made the stay really amazing. The coffee machine was a bonus, we had fresh coffee of choice every day.
Very small twin rooms here which means you cannot fit two suitcases open in the room. The bathroom is ridiculously small. Charge for luggage if left for a couple of hours after check out.
The hotel elevator was a bit hard to find on my first visit, but the staff were really nice, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The room size was perfect for just me. There's a Family Mart convenience store just a few steps downstairs, and Daikokucho subway station is only a few hundred meters away. The location is very central, the facilities are complete, and it's clean.
I've stayed here multiple times because the location is super convenient. You take the subway to Shinsaibashi Station, exit at #8, and it's a one-minute walk. Excellent! Super close to the city center, and it's basically right across from the subway exit, which makes the location incredibly convenient. The room is small, but very clean. Highly recommend!
It's a decent hotel, I stay here every time I visit. The location is super convenient, right in the Shinsaibashi shopping district. Daimaru department store is just across the street, and Shinsaibashi subway station is also just a short walk across the road.
The hotel is clean, strategically located and the staff are helpful. My only complaint is the hotel's wifi, very unstable.

I've stayed here many times, and it's consistently comfortable and quiet. The staff are always warm and attentive, making for a very pleasant stay. The large public bath on the rooftop is wonderfully relaxing. My only wish is for more washing machines.
Very clean, with a great view of the river. The room was spotless, and the bathtub was also very clean. A good choice for traveling with family.
Great! The room is cozy and the surroundings are quiet, not noisy at all. This hotel offers excellent value for money. This is my third time choosing to stay here.
Amazing location to explore around Osaka and Kyoto. It’s in beautifully located in the midst of a river. Walking distance to 2 metro lines, with Hidobashi being one stop away from Umeya Osaka area. The hotel was clean and amenities were available on the ground floor opposite the lifts. Service was courteous and the view was great. Absolutely loved this hotel! All the staff were so enthusiastic and genuinely warm. The room was the largest we had during our entire trip to Japan. The location is very convenient. The newest airport limousine bus in '26 goes to Osaka Umeda Station, and it's a 3-minute walk from there. It's also only a 7-8 minute walk to Hankyu Department Store. The hotel is clean and tidy, and its location inside Shin-Osaka Station makes it incredibly convenient for taking the Shinkansen, other train lines, and the subway!
Location is excellent. The staff were helpful and very accommodating. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Osaka.
it locates inside the railway Station and so it is super convenient for people travelling with public transport. clean room and good facilities.
The hotel was conveniently located near the Shinkansen station, so it was easy to transfer from one city to another. The area outside the city is more of a business/residential district so there is not quite a lot to do at night. The room was clean, although a bit small, our 23kg luggage could barely fit when we opened them. But otherwise, it was nice and clean.

The facilities were clean and generous. The onsen was a new experience! Sheraton scrubbed up to what we expected. 5 stars!
The hotel is located in a quiet and safe area. The breakfast selection is good and I liked the good coffee and it was a bonus as they provided paper cup so you can consume your coffee in the comfort of your room.
Will recommend friends to stay in this nice and clean hotel.
Only problem is breakfast. In typical Japanese fashion, they make you wiatbevwn though there are plenty of seats. If it's manpower problem, divert resources in the morning. Wait can sometimes be an hour. Ridiculous
Good location. Global standard customer service.
A bit out of the way to main attractions as it’s on Rokko island but the direct bus to the airport made it worthwhile. The breakfast was ok but seems to be always running out of food due to the high number of guests. In room service was decent but expensive. Onsite onsen was good but crowded!
