The location is beautiful for everyone who wants to be closer to nature and have more peace and privacy.

It is very clean but small. Also i think that washing and drying clothes option should be cheaper.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in! From its location (2 minutes from Arashiyama train station) to the coffee machine, tea selection, and the huge TV in the dining area with a view of a Japanese garden. The service is top-notch; they helped me with all my questions and even lent me a power adapter. There's an izakaya next door where you can enjoy a delicious dinner. I'm so glad I chose Arashiyama and this hostel over staying in Kyoto. Just a heads-up, you can't check in at night.

The hostel is near the bamboo forest and restraunts. They don’t keep luggage past 12pm which is an inconvenience, however everything else about the hostel is great.

I stayed at Mulan Hostel during my visit to Kyoto and really enjoyed the quiet, comfortable atmosphere. The room was small but clean and well-organized, with everything I needed. The staff were kind and helpful, and the location made it easy to get around. A simple, peaceful place to rest after a day of exploring.

Having stayed in Arashiyama already for 1 day at another nearby hotel, I hadn’t anticipated liking the area so much. I located Mulan Hotel and stayed in the dorm bed for 2 nights. Being the only guest there, the beds and common areas (such as bathrooms, kitchen etc) were clean. They had access to a washing machine and dryer which was appreciated after 2 weeks of travel.

Presented with a discount coupon for the neighbourhood onsen, 2 minutes walk from the hotel is a must! They also have bikes for hire, which made exploring the local area and neighbourhood really enjoyable.

Price is great for those on a budget. The bus stop to return to Kyoto Station is 80m from the front entrance. Be mindful its 15-20 minute walk to the major sites and main restaurants.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and I look forward to my visit there again soon!

The owner is kind and the facilities are very clean. The bathroom, sink, and shower are conveniently located. However, the stairs to the 2nd and 3rd floors are a bit steep and narrow. Please note this if you are carrying a carrier. Bath towels, face towels, toothbrushes, and toothbrush cups are provided. There is also a 2,000 won coupon for a nearby hot spring bathhouse, so be sure to get it and go! There is a Ministop 5 minutes away on foot, and you can also rent a bike!

They overbooked so I ended up upgrading for a fee that Trip.com compensated. The place is very small but beautifully decorated, very clean, perfect location to explore the overrated Bamboo Forest, many temples around and the MOnkey Forest. The staff is friendly and the coffee machine is beautiful. The private room is cozy but the mattress was terrible. I did not sleep at all. It is far from the rest of the attractions in Kyoto.

For me it was the best hostel yet! They let you use the washing machine and dryer for free. The rooms and places to place your belongings are big enough. I was really pleased.
