It's very close to Kyoto Station, about a ten-minute walk away, and there are also FamilyMart and Yoshinoya nearby. The room has traditional tatami mats and is generally comfortable. The refrigerator makes a sound, so those who are sensitive to noise should consider this option, but it didn't bother me.

Very traditional from your normal hotel. Close to teain station and many restaraunts near. Staff was by far the most helpful with anything you needed. Small breakfast area on Floor 2 each day

This was booked for me as a chance to get an authentic ryokan experience. If that means being a bit grim, tired shabbiness, uncomfortably grubby, being woke up through the night because of the noise not only from outside but the fridge going through some banging and clattering every now and then (I pulled the plug on it at 3am) then this is the place to go! Personally, I couldn’t get out fast enough.
