Nara, 4-18-1 Horai (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
We had a lovely time here! We were travelling by public transport, and this spot is a little of out of the way, but they sent a shuttle to the train station and it was easy to arrive. It was not clear from their website that the restaurant would not be open for dinner, and the closest restaurant by foot (other than McDonald's) was a 30 minute walk away. That was no problem; we had a nice walk, a...
At the pool, there were two staff members (unclear if they were lifeguards or simply receptionists) who spent their time chatting at the top of the stairs and only handled reception duties. We were informed that the shower in our room might not have hot water, but it thankfully did. All four sets of sheets were riddled with holes, and for that reason, I will definitely not be returning. I believe there...
Most of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. However, I was really looking forward to using the sauna, but it was either broken or simply too cold to use. That was a significant letdown.
The page says there is a sea view room, but it actually has a mountain view. Although there is pick-up and drop-off at the station, the pick-up and drop-off time is stipulated. It is not very clear without marking it. It's too far from the station and far from the scenic spots.
The service is excellent and the outdoor hot spring is great. The disadvantage is that the sound insulation effect of the room is not good. Fortunately, the quality of the guests staying here is very high. The only thing that cannot be accepted is that there is no bathroom in the room🚻. Apart from this, everything else is perfect!
Service was lovely! Beautiful rooms. Minimal English spoken here, but staff still absolutely wonderful! Would have loved an option for a non set menu to choose the courses, however the traditional menu was more cultural!

good location near Kintetsu Station
Great location, close to train station, shops, and park.
Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.
This hotel is really great. The view you see as soon as you enter is beautiful, and it’s close to both the station and Nara Park. The moment I stepped into the room, it felt cozy and safe, making me want to stay. The breakfast is free and also delicious. Next time I come to Nara, I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again.
The location of this hotel is amazing. It's within 15 minutes walk from Nara Park as well as several streets full of shops and restaurants. It's also only 5 minutes from the nara-kinetetsu station. The staff were incredibly friendly and the coffee shop is a nice place to sit. The only real negative was the fact that they use very tiny pillows - but they gave me an extra one when I asked and that...
Hotel is at Kintetsu Nara station. Easily accessible when taking train. Nice quaint area to walk. Room has humidifier, kettle and cups, hairdryer, mini fridge and a tv. Breakfast comes with delicious thick toast set and coffee. Laundromat is at the cosy lobby area. I stayed for 2 nights. Many good eateries around the area and shopping malls. Tourist attractions are walking distance only. Highly recommend...

Really loved the distinctive atmosphere of this hotel. The rooms and grounds have a calm, serene feel. It was modern in comfort but with a beautifully integrated rustic Japanese influence, from the décor to the landscaping. A rare combination that works effortlessly. I would absolutely stay here again.
This former sake brewery exudes charm! Our room had its own view of a private garden, nightingale floors (to prevent ninjas sneaking in?), a hinoki ofuro, a tatami room.
Lovely small hotel. Our room was more like a 2-room suite, including a little shrine space. Comfortable. Staff excellent. During our stay they were trimming the trees and shrubs in the garden for that refined Japanese look. Multi-course Japanese breakfasts and dinners. Delectable!
The room was beautiful. This hotel is in walking distance of the train station and of Nara Park. Thank you also for adjusting the time of breakfast on one day so I could catch my train. The food at ghe attached restaurant was perfect too.
It feels like you are in the countryside…but a covered shopping street is only a five minute walk away.
Spacious accommodations, excellent staff; great food, a truly wonderful place.
Would return in an instant.
What an amazing place. We arrived jet lagged from the us but they have taken care of every need. The room is warm and cozy with a wonderful tub and amenities. The breakfasts are delicious. We ate one night at the restaurant - Le un - and it was delightful. One of our best meals ever. The staff are friendly and helpful arranging sightseeing. The inn is conveniently near the train station and Nara park...

What a place! It's in a world heritage site. Our uber took us right to the door. But we walked into the deer park and shrines. We had the full Japanese experience with traditional dinner served in our room and breakfast. Lots of fish. We had a bigger than a king thick mattress in the bedroom. Our family had a smaller room with heated floor mats . They slept on futons. I think it's hard to book but...
Just had a 2 nights stay and we absolutely loved it It is in a very secluded little valley in the park itself and everything feels very remote quiet and peaceful even though all the tourist hustle and bustle is only a 5 minute walk away The place itself feels quite new and very “japandic” (a mix between Japan and Scandinavian)… The food was amazing… The staff speak a bit of english but what they perhaps...
A beautiful spot in the forest, although just a bit far from the sights in Nara. The staff was lovely and the room quite comfortable, by Western standards for a Japanese room (although the futons were by far the hardest and most uncomfortable of the three ryokans we visited). The meals lived up to the reviews, beautifully presented true kaiseki.
One of our favorite activities in Nara is hiking the Kasugayama (Mt. Kasuga) Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that remains largely untouched. Hunting and logging have been banned since 841 A.D., and public access was restricted until after World War II, which has helped preserve its rare flora and fauna. Today, anyone can explore its network of trails winding through ancient cedars and...
This was my second stay. The location is right inside Nara Park, very quiet. Deer can be seen within a few minutes' walk, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine is also nearby. The kaiseki cuisine is freshly prepared, and the service is excellent. The receptionist can speak basic English. Before check-in, the hotel contacted us about check-in time, dinner and breakfast arrangements, and hot spring bath times—very...
We stayed for two nights in one of the traditional rooms with kaiseki and it was one of the best experiences we have had anywhere in the world. The food was amazing and the staff were very polite and professional. Walking through the park from the front door or into town is also great! The private baths were super relaxing. I also recommend having the staff order you a massage and you will not be...

A wonderful place! Quiet, peaceful, close to everything! Very pleased! The room is spacious enough for one or even two guests.
The surrounding environment is very nice, and it's conveniently located near a park.
This is my second time at this hotel. Everything is more than comfortable, absolutely everything is taken care of. You can also leave your luggage on the first floor before check-in. There's no staff, but I think it's safe. The room is very clean, every detail is thought of, and it's a comfortable stay.
It was a very comfortable stay, and the room was quite large. The location was convenient.
The room was not as clean as we expected, and there was no room service for cleaning. Additionally, there is no on-site laundry room; the nearest one is a 15-minute walk away.
💁🏻♂️My overall rating: 3.6 points (0 very bad 1 very bad 2 bad 3 average 4 good 5 very good)
💁🏻♂️My accommodation suggestion: preferably for business or couples. There are 4 people in our family, and the 1.3-meter bed is still a bit crowded for 2 people.

The consummate traditional Japanese hospitality experience. So nice, and the staff are friendly and accommodating
The location was superb. It was a lovely slice of Japan and exactly what I had hoped for. It was right up the street from Nakatanidou and that made me VERY happy. It was close to a konbini and plenty of shopping/eateries and all the local attractions one would want to see in Nara. It is also a very quick walk to the subway. Highly recommend.

The room was very clean, and it's only a five-minute walk to the attractions, which is perfect for budget backpackers. The common areas are also very new, and the bathroom has a wet/dry separation. The price is really good too.
The room was clean and comfortable. You could see deer from the balcony, and there were also deer downstairs. It's very close to Nara Park, which is convenient. It's also not too far from Nara Station and Kintetsu Nara Station; you can walk there.
The bunk bed has no curtain for privacy and the snoring noise can be heard clearly as there were 2 other female solo traveller on the first night. Everyone was tired after traveling for quite some time. The next two nights had the whole room to myself as no other female solo traveler booked the hotel which I can sleep in peace. Total I stayed 3 nights there, average standard for everything.
Good location for Nara Park.
Car parking onsite is available
Great value for money. The walls are not soundproof.

This is an old-style Japanese hotel, a bit dated and generally unhygienic. The hotel is good in terms of service and is conveniently located to tourist attractions.
Except that it is a little far from the station, everything else is pretty good. The dinner is very rich.
The room is very large, it can be said to be a traditional tatami room, two 26-inch suitcases can lie flat
The transportation is OK, it is a distance from the subway entrance, but very close to the bus station
The location is OK, not far from Todaiji Temple and Nara Park
The best thing is that each room has two dinners and two breakfasts, with Japanese specialties, very good, the ladies are also very...
It was my first time staying in a traditional Japanese-style hotel. The room was large and comfortable with tatami. Breakfast and dinner were included. There were 10 dishes before and after dinner, and the taste was very authentic. I saw that most of the guests were Japanese. It is very close to Todaiji Temple and Nara Park on foot, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to Kintetsu Train Station.
The food was plentiful and the quality was great! It was located right next to Todaiji Temple, so I was able to go early in the morning when it was quiet.
A very tradional Rakuten with every facility you would expect from it. All staff are really courteous and attentive. The hotel is only about 10 minutes walk from the Nara Park and tourist attractions. Parking is available as well.

The room is traditional in style, and some of the design is rather odd, not always convenient.
Although, maybe that's the intention, I don't know.
But it was an interesting experience, and I definitely recommend it for a couple of days.
The public bathhouse is a big plus; don't forget to take advantage of it.
Clean, Quiet, and Convenient Ryokan.
Beautiful and quiet stay. We greatly appreciate the kindness and hospitality from all the staff. We love how convenient this location is to the train station (Nara), to the shopping ***** filled with restaurants, and to the Deer Park. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
It's very well located; as soon as you step outside the hotel, you'll find an amazing ramen restaurant.
If you want the experience of sleeping on a futon and bathing in public hot springs, this is the place for you. There are also private baths in your room if you don't want to use the public baths.
The location is incredibly convenient; it's just a right turn from the Kintetsu Nara Station exit, and situated in a shopping district, making it extremely convenient for eating, drinking, and shopping. The room was quite old, but the cleanliness was impeccable—a real bargain. The public bath was relatively empty and clean. Overall, it was alright.
We stayed two nights and slept well on the futons. The hotel was conveniently located near Kintetsu Nara Station and inside the shopping arcade. The front receptionist was friendly, efficient and helpful. We also enjoyed the hot spring bath. Bathrobes (yukata) and towels were provided.
Conveniently located near Kintetsu-Nara station.
The place looks a tad old with some wear-and-tear, and the wooden tiles in my room made a creaking sound whenever being stepped on.
Soundproofing was pretty bad – I could hear people walking along the corridor, and voices and sounds coming from neighbours above and below.
Staff did not provide clear instructions on how to self-checkout, i.e. where...

Great house, cozy beds and its very traditional Japanese house. We LOVE the bathtub it’s sooo cool.
We are a family of four
We would definitely recommend this beautiful home :) and there’s a super cute vegetarian restaurant next door
Amazing old Japanese house 💛
And the best bed I’ve slept on in Japan so far :)
We stayed one night in Nara in this location, very nice Japanese styled house. Position is good, it is just a few steps away from the bus stop and walking distance to most of the places of interest. One point is the air conditioning which is a bit noisy.
古民家の宿で雰囲気が良かったです。庭もあって癒されました。寝具もよく気持ちが良くてよく眠れました。
駐車場が近くにありすぐにわかりました。
What a difficult review to write. This property has such amazing potential. With this review I will hope that by the time you stay here it will be perfect. Needs better lighting, additional mirrors, tea and coffee, the bath room painted white, a really good dusting, and to remove the indoor camera that points at the entrance... After staying in some lovely and very different sorts of accommodation already in Japan, Allamanda Nara is our favourite so far.
It has an inviting Japanese garden out front and a reception decorated with a small selection of local handicraft.
Beautiful room; fantastic food and refreshments.
A quiet hotel located on the outskirts but with a fully equipped restaurant and service inside. Just too far from the city center.
This was good hotel. They have everything you need, but they don’t have an elevator so you will have to carry your bags upstairs. They have parking and 24hr room service. It is a bit away from everything so you will have to walk or drive for dinner.
The wonderful room, the good cleaning and the very attentive staff.

The room, including the balcony, the cleanness, and the view, the location, andthe friendliness and professionalism of staff were all beyond expectation.
Everything about this hotel was good. Ameneties, customer service, cleanliness, location.
Really an amazing hotel, had a wonderful stay here. Would come back again but unfortunately its closing down. Wish all the best, thanks for the hospitality.
Very friendly staff and can speak different languages since it's a tourist center. Walking distance within 10mins from stations and right next to a pond. You can see a couple of deers from the window. A convenient store right at B1 which comes in handy - tho it's not 24hrs.
There are many activities you can join during daytime.
Recommended.
Fantastic room, stone throw away from the park and the shopping/food streets, friendly staff, deer visible from your window and you can cook in the shared kitchen when needed. 11/10
Considering what we paid for 3 people to stay a night before moving on from Nara, this accommodation was great.
Had a public bath and even a communal kitchen. Very user friendly.
Too bad the convenience store connected to it was closed during our stay, overall a great stay for the price.
It was pretty good overall, but some rooms had an old, musty smell, probably due to their age. The deluxe Japanese-style room was especially great. However, not being able to control the ventilation was a bit annoying. For the price, the room size was quite generous. Next time, I'd like to stay two consecutive days; checking out after just one night this time was really inconvenient.

A magnificent hotel with top-notch service. We had an unforgettable stay where the quality of service is truly exceptional. The staff is incredibly attentive to guests. The restaurant is magnificent, the chef worthy of a Michelin star, and the service is outstanding. We can't wait to return. Bravo!
Wonderful, friendly and incredibly obliging staff, large, beautiful rooms, breakfast that was like a royal banquet! And the most incredible location right on Nara Park. We had a wonderful stay in the luxurious, friendly, beautiful hotel
We stayed here for three days over Easter 2024. As you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux hotel, it isn’t cheap but everything was outstanding. Huge room and a huge King size bed with big clear glasses overlooking the park where we could see deers eating grass. Hospitality was great. Staff came to Kintetsu Nara station to welcome us to their hotel. Indian flag was specially hosted as we were the guests...
This hotel has absolutely impeccable service. The staff is very attentive. The rooms are not large but comfortable and neatly appointed. The location at the corner of Nara park is also a great asset. Definitely a great location from which to explore ancient Nara.
The Noborioji Hotel in Nara was amazing. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food was exquisite. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and nice. Absolutely superb location for the price thay ask! A bit worn small hotel, but cozy and friendly like your grandma :)
Japanese style room was a pleasant experience.
The location is very good, very close to the scenic area, it is very convenient to live here, it is a residential area and it feels quite good!
The grandparents are super cute and warm. The surrounding environment is super good and close to the attractions. You can also feed the deer in the block and store your luggage. There is no elevator for the stairs, but fortunately the steps are not high.
The hotel is clean and hygienic, with a good surrounding environment. It is very close to the attractions (you can walk there). The hotel front desk is staffed by an old man or a grandmother, who is very friendly! But they don't speak Chinese. The 12-square-meter double room is OK.
The location is excellent, right by the Sarushawa Pond. The room is small, more suitable for backpackers/single occupancy; the bathroom is very small, no washlet. The owner is good at musical instruments and improvised a drum set.

It was an excellent accommodation experience! The host, Yuki, was very warm, attentive, and responsible. The owner and staff were amazing…so sad we were there only for one night for a music show. Gracious and amazing
The owner is a very friendly old man. It's a century-old old villa with a very Japanese atmosphere. It feels very homely, very clean and tidy. On the day of check-in, the old man was worried that we wouldn't have time to drive us to Nara Park to see the deer. I really enjoyed the accommodation experience here.
It's close to Naramachi, convenient for sightseeing, and reasonably priced, but you'll still get a room. There are also several public baths nearby that are open until midnight, and they all have saunas, which is great. The hosts are kind and welcoming.
The owner is an elderly gentleman, very kind, and the whole room has a great atmosphere, with Japanese-style tatami. Please note that you should not eat in the room, and there is a lock time at night. It is a bit far from Nara Station, but closer to another station.

Super comfy guesthouse in Nara close to the station. They had a smal kitchen and fridge for guests. As well as a lot of books, manga, PlayStation.
Stayed in the room with private toilet and shower. It was great. Would highly recommend a stay here if you’re ever visiting Nara
Perfect location.
Perfect location, as it's very close to the train station as well as the deer park. The room had everything you needed and a very comfortable bed. The communal ktchen area was excellent and again has everything you could possibly need and also a lovely eating area. Everything was perfect. The host was also very helpful and friendly.

Amazing place with an amazing owner, close to the station plus Nara Park and more.
Very good accommodation with complete facilities. Near Nara Station and Nara Park, making it easy to find food. The accommodation has everything you need and there are also games to play.
I saw a Google review that said bicycle rentals the next morning were free, but now it's only ¥500 for 24 hours.

It was not so clean and the service was not very welcoming compared to other structures, especially on the phone. They pre charged and then you have to pay cash. Just two pictures from the bathroom, but many things showed lack of regards
The location is near both JR nara and kintestu station, it's also 800m far from nara park and naramachi main area. However, it's not on the main street so it's quite dark and silent at night.
Room and services are good for solo travelers. I stayed in female dorm, everything is ok. However, you may be awakened at midnight if others go out or do st else. That's so disturbing 🤨

We selected the Kamunabi Guesthouse because we wanted to stay in a more traditional Japanese guesthouse. Very good, the environment is very good, I like it very much, it is very close to Nara Park, and the family members who like it are bold
The quilts in the room are OK, but it would be very uncomfortable if someone snores in a 6-person room. The beds are not enclosed and are very similar to dormitories in China. There is a washing machine at 220 yen per time, but no dryer. The toilet is just average, and you have to wear hotel shoes when going in and out, which are really not that good. Towels and toothbrushes must be bought separately...

The bus stop is a 3-minute walk away, and Todai-ji Temple is also very close. The bathroom and bed were comfortable, and I slept very well!
The lack of luggage storage was a bit inconvenient, and the cost was a bit high for a youth hostel (around 5,000 yen per night). The host and hostess were very friendly, but neither spoke English...
cheap and cheerful, only complaint is the bed was quite small. I am 187cm and had to bend my legs even with my head right at the top of the bed.
It's a small guesthouse. The common space and the dormitory beds are small, and the hygiene is not good. It's also far from the center of Nara. However, the staff are kind, the price is reasonable, and overall I think it's a good place to stay.
