The hotel has an antique charm, reminiscent of an old luxury hotel, and is quite clean and tidy. The only minor issues were the metal room doors, which caused static electricity in winter, and the lake view being a bit obscured by trees, which was a shame. The Japanese breakfast was incredibly rich and exquisite, definitely worth the extra cost.

Everything was comfortable. The hot springs in particular had the best quality. The food was also delicious. The shuttle bus was convenient, and they would provide additional buses if there were a large group.

Considering the price, I felt the quality of the food was not up to par. The breakfast was well thought out and the ingredients were tasty, but dinner was lackluster. The Yonaki noodles at night were tasty, but I thought they were served as cheap Chinese noodles. I visited after the renovation and was curious, but I feel there is still room for improvement.

The service here is incredibly thoughtful. You can communicate directly if you have any needs, and Mr. Zhang at the reception was meticulously attentive to all our requirements. There's also a laundry service. Most importantly, if you're driving, Hakone can be quite challenging with its narrow roads, so be careful!

The hotel has a good price quality. We stayed for one night only and we liked it very much. Considering we are a family of 4 most hotel rooms can't accommodate us as they are all too small so this style of bed arrangement is perfect for us. The room and toilet is quite small but I guess this is pretty normal in Japan.

We fell in love with the Edoya hotel! We stayed in a traditional room with tatami and had a big space with a chair and a table to have tea and a toilet separated from the shower. Overall, it was okay. The only issues were that the doorway was quite low, so I kept hitting my head, and the duvet was too short for me, being over 1.8 meters tall, it didn't cover me completely.

Budget hotel, the room had a mountain view

The dining environment was not good, I ate surrounded by elderly people in a space that resembled the dining room of a nursing home.

The building is old, but it was well-cleaned. There are plenty of baths, including many private ones, so you can enjoy yourself, but be careful as some baths do not provide shampoo or other amenities. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of menu items and was very satisfying.

The room felt a little old, but it was spacious and comfortable. The heating was weak, so it was a little cold at night. Regarding cleanliness, when I moved the cushion aside, I found a foreign object the size of a small plum, which caused a fuss, but it turned out to be a dried flower petal!
