Shinagawa Tobu Hotel in Tokyo

The room was nice and quite spacious, especially the bathroom and shower. It's very convenient, with food and convenience stores right outside, and close to the JR station.

Looking for Family near the hotel, we went up and down hills, passing by apartment buildings with luxury cars parked outside – seems like we've landed in a pretty upscale neighborhood. I can imagine Shinagawa must have once been a hillside overlooking Edo's waterfront.

Close to Shinagawa station. Nice facility and staff. Bed is comfortable and you can definitely have a good sleep after a long day visit in Tokyo

The room was nice and very clean. The only downside was the uphill walk every day, which was a bit tiring. The service was okay, nothing unpleasant to report. I recommend taking the Asakusa Line and getting off at Takanawa for easier access.

Facilities: The hotel is quite old, so the toilet and bathtub clearly show their age. However, you can tell they've made some thoughtful renovations (e.g., sockets by the bed, a recessed shelf for items, a horizontal shelf above the toilet paper holder for phones, etc.) which is very considerate. Although the room is small, the window opens wide, providing excellent ventilation and natural light. There's also a separate tea cabinet with plenty of space for items, and most importantly, a business desk which is very practical.

Cleanliness: The bedding was very clean, but cleaning starts at 11 AM daily. If you don't want to be disturbed, it's advisable to put up the 'do not disturb' sign beforehand.

Environment: A traditional business hotel. I was given a top-floor room facing Shinagawa Station. The soundproofing was a bit lacking, but it was still relatively quiet at night. On the first floor, next to the elevator, you can get free hot and cold water. On the second floor, there are vending machines, a microwave, and a lounge area for guests.

Service: Excellent, warm, and attentive.

Overall: Given that it was Christmas combined with a weekend, hotel prices near Shinagawa Station wouldn't be low. However, the walk from the station to the hotel is uphill, which really tests your endurance and stamina when carrying luggage and returning daily. The 7 minutes stated on the official hotel website is probably an underestimate.

Convenient transportation and quiet surroundings.

Hotel located is not closed by Atami JR station, walkable distance around 16mins but the street is narrow and going downhill, a bit uneasy for family travelling with young kids with big suitcases. The hotel room is spacious and the onsen located in Annex 3F is very comfortable and relaxing. The hotel room rate is reasonable and we enjoyed our stay here..

Overall the hotel is excellent. Will definitely consider the hotel in my future travels.

It's a bit of a walk from Shinagawa Station, including a slight uphill stretch, which can be tough if you're hauling luggage. However, the hotel offers good value for money and is quiet. While the breakfast selection isn't extensive, the curry rice is quite good. The front desk staff were very warm and helpful.

A hotel within 10 minutes walking distance to both Takanawadai Metro and Shinagawa train stations. Staff are friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and the room was spacious. There are laundry services inside the hotel and some restaurants and convenience store nearby. Would recommend!
