Smile Hotel Nihombashi Mitsukoshimae in Tokyo

Simple hotel in a great location. Rooms are a bit tired looking and carpet feels a bit dirty. Staff are excellent.

The location is fantastic, less than a five-minute walk to Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, from sushi to Czech beer bars. The only downside is the construction next door, which can be a bit noisy.

This is my go-to hotel every time. It's really close to Mitsukoshimae Station. This time, the main road was under construction, so I had to take a detour to get in. Even though the hotel feels a bit dated, for this price point, being clean is all that matters. You can't compare it to hotels back home; this is Tokyo after all.

It seems room we have got. It is not the same type when we reservation. We book 2 single beds / 2 rooms of 3 nights (30 Dec 2025 to 2 Jan 2026).

Location is ok, not too hard to get to Sensoji Temple. It’s also clean and has good enough amenities. I recommend.

It is very convenient to get there. But the facilities are quite old, the room we stayed got the sink broken and the shades didn’t fully closed. We got to wake up during the sunrise, it is impossible to close the shades. And the blanket is dirty. Staff are nice but cannot speak English, it’s better to bring translator with you during visit

The place is old but clean. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really good, especially the tuna and onion. The staff was helpful and gave us suggestions to take train lines that were more efficient than those Google told us to. It is easier to take exit 1 for the Ginza line than exit 4.

Although the hotel isn't brand new, it's exceptionally well-maintained. The mattress was very comfortable, and the room was spacious enough to easily open two 26-inch suitcases without hindering movement.

The front desk had Chinese-speaking staff, and the Japanese staff also spoke excellent English.

There are many restaurants nearby, and public transportation is very convenient. Ningyocho and Nihonbashi are about a 12-minute walk away, and Tokyo Station is a 20-minute walk.

My only minor complaint is that even though I booked a non-smoking room, I could smell cigarette smoke from the ventilation system every morning. It only improved slightly after turning off the central air conditioning.

Overall, this is a hotel with excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The hotel I booked this time had a fantastic location. It's surrounded by plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, and the area is quite lively. Public transport was also super convenient, being very close to the subway station. The hotel service was excellent.
