Had a very comfortable stay at Rixos Hotel. The breakfast was plentiful, and the environment and location were both great.

An older hotel, which is not a bad thing. Breakfasts were fantastic. Our family had a negative experience with check in, cleanliness and safety in our room, and we had to address these matters with a manager. It’s obvious they need to deal with service quality when they make mistakes and get to a point where safety and customer satisfaction are priority.

First time in Almaty, and choosing this hotel really elevated my entire trip experience. First off, the front desk staff had excellent English, so communication was a breeze. Secondly, both the hot spring and breakfast far exceeded my expectations. The hotel views were also fantastic. The only downside is its slightly out-of-the-way location, which means taxi rides can be a bit long.

Extremely satisfied! The facilities are comprehensive, and the service is excellent. You absolutely must try the pool and sauna. A special shout-out to the bartender who, even though I was the only one there late at night, still made me a drink and brought me snacks. My two-day stay became even more perfect after it snowed. Everything was great, but the air conditioning and heating didn't quite cut it, making the room a bit cold.

Overall hotel was very nice. The room was big and bed and covers were amazing. Everyone was very nice and friendly. It is put of town, so away from a lot of things. The breakfast was great and in room service good as well. The last evening, there were kids using hallway as playground which didnt allow to relax, but overall everything else was very good. 1. This hotel is pretty much like a budget hotel in China – small rooms and very basic facilities. I strongly do not recommend it. 2. I extended my stay for another night, and I must commend the hotel's thoughtfulness. The breakfast was quite good, but because I'm lactose intolerant, I got diarrhea after drinking milk. When I asked if the hotel had any medication, they first checked if I was allergic to it before giving me the medicine. They were very considerate and attentive.

Clean hotel, but dull and dark. Services are okay.

First room was smell bad of smoke even though my booking was non smoking room . They gave me other room was good after i complained. I think hotels used to give worst room who booked through trip.com . It happened in my previous trip in Bali.

Hotels in Almaty are significantly inferior to those in China. The Ritz-Carlton's facilities are roughly equivalent to those of Atour X in China. The service is acceptable, but the breakfast is mediocre and too monotonous; it's not even in the same league as Ritz-Carlton hotels in China.

The best and the most expensive hotel in Almaty. Service is perfect, staff try to help in all questions. Breakfast huge and tasty, there is everything, even common quail eggs… Rooms big and have nice views to city or mountais. Gym is very good too. Pool not big but enough good, sauna just separate in mans and womans changing rooms.

It was -16 degrees Celsius outside, but the room was only 15 degrees and there was no underfloor heating. The room was too cold. They eventually provided a heater, but I still couldn't sleep well at night. I recommend against staying at this hotel during winter.

Perfect! The key thing is that the lady at the front desk speaks Chinese, which made communication so much easier.

It's a shame you didn't read the reviews before your trip and instead trusted the brand and the stars. The service, hospitality, and professionalism are lacking. The hotel team needs to work on improving its reputation, especially in your city.

I cannot use the wifi because the signal was too weak. That was terrible. The water from the tap colored brown. It looked like not clean

It clearly states check-in is after 2 PM, but they forced me to pay for an extra night because I arrived at 12 AM. What's the point? It feels like a scam. And then they demand check-out by 12 PM... The next day, I checked out before 12 PM and requested a refund for that extra day, but they refused to give it.

This hotel has a fantastic ambiance with a strong Russian flair. Breakfast every morning was a real treat. The room was very quiet and the heating was excellent. Very satisfied! Although it looks a bit dated, it's clean, well-equipped, and has a strong Soviet feel. This is the second hotel I stayed at in Almaty. It's definitely an old-money style hotel. The hotel is located near the Koktobe cable car, which is convenient for getting around. Hotel is conveniently located and there is a 24-hour bar which is good to have business discussions within the hotel at any time of the day. 

Overall, it's pretty good. The only drawback is the lack of Chinese-compatible power outlets.
