Trying to plan a trip to this island as it genuinely looks good. Trying to get a response from them is like pulling teeth.

We stayed in a Deluxe Beach Villa next to the Sultan Suite (room 1) on a FB plan. This is our second trip to Nika and our seventh to the Maldives. We typically stay in water villas but we already knew that the Nika water villas had pretty much zero shade so were not for us. Transfers in MLE were a breeze for us as regulars, but some newcomers might be a bit bewildered by the lack of a lounge at the seaplane terminal. We were only there for 15 minutes so we didn’t even go up to the free lounge. A Nika rep met us after customs, but not at the seaplane terminal. But it’s really not that difficult anyway. Our deluxe beach villa was the best place we have stayed in the Maldives, better than places 3 times the price. My reasoning: it’s huge with a private beach, small lagoon and about 10 metres from the reef. There is shade throughout the day and places to sit inside and out in very many different ways. I feel they are vastly superior to Nika’s water villas. The non-deluxe villas are on the other side of the island and many have very poor reef access. Snorkelling the reef is a bit hit and miss. We saw the best fish life near the diving jetty, but the reef and coral is healthiest closer to the beach bar. At the reef’s best it was superb with vibrant coral, sharks, eagle rays and one day a turtle. Some days it was poor with little to see. Watch out for the current along the shore which can be strong enough to be difficult to swim against. Our best snorkels were entering near the dive jetty and exiting at the beach bar where we had a hot chocolate. Food was mostly excellent and the buffet nights such as the Italian buffet and Asian buffet top notch for the Maldives at this level. Some of the à la carte food was not great and a couple of nights we were disappointed. Drink prices for the Maldives are exceptionally good value. A half bottle of red for $17 was our regular and cocktails were typically $12. Most of the cocktails were well made, but it was rather bartender specific. We thought the FB package was good value and not worth the upgrade to AI based on the drinks prices. The resort supplied us with a full price list which I used to choose which package was the best value for us. Scuba is excellent with some world-class sites nearby. Experienced divers MUST request a night dive on Maaya Thila and was just incredible: an open water night dive with sharks and giant trevallys galore. The team is very professional and the rental equipment I saw decent. They split divers into capability groups and exercise the right level of caution when people have problems. The boat is dhoni-style so not the fastest with transfer times to dive sites are typically 30 mins but some are an hour away. It’s easy resort diving with crew to help you with gear, and I spotted a couple of older divers taking off gear before returning to the boat. Picking up on what others have complained about. No, the outside shower is actually fabulous. It’s true the Italians have mor

We stayed on this beautiful island for our holiday in the Maldives and overall we had a very good experience. We stayed in the Deluxe Beach Bungalow No. 6, which was very spacious, well designed and cleaned twice a day. The room cleaning staff did an excellent job and everything was always spotless. A real highlight was the private beach area in front of the bungalow. It is truly stunning, and you can enjoy a lot of peace and privacy. Excellent service & celiac-friendly kitchen A huge plus for us was the fact that my wife has celiac disease (gluten intolerance). The kitchen team was outstanding and really went above and beyond. They accommodated every wish and made sure her meals were completely safe. The chef Chendru always ensured that everything was prepared properly and even paid attention to cross-contamination, using separate pans and equipment. They also prepared gluten-free pasta for her whenever she wanted. This was extremely reassuring and made our holiday much more relaxing. Great guest relations On the island, Diana was responsible for us and she did a fantastic job. She always kept us updated, took care of our wishes and made sure everything went smoothly. A big thank you to Diana! Diana Italian atmosphere It is important to know that the island has a very strong Italian influence and many Italian guests. The food is often Italian-style as well. However, there was always enough variety and good options available. Negative points Unfortunately, there were also a few downsides. The biggest issue for us was that the seaplanes took off directly in front of the bungalows, starting early in the morning. The take-offs are extremely loud and we were often woken up. On other islands we visited, seaplane operations were located further away, with guests transferred by boat for the last few hundred meters. That system avoids disturbing guests and would be much better. Another point to know is that there is a local island nearby, where waste is often burned day and night. Because of this, we could sometimes smell the smoke from burning garbage on the island, which was unpleasant. We also noticed that the owner and her brother were on the island during our stay, and it felt like they gave significantly more attention to Italian guests than to others. The owner could not even properly say hello to us. These are small things, but it was noticeable. Excursions We booked several excursions (prices for 2 people): • Night snorkeling with UV light: 167 USD • Snorkeling with mantas: 241 USD • Snorkeling with nurse sharks: 172 USD • Sunset fishing: 120 USD (our fish was later prepared for dinner exactly as we wanted) All excursions were excellent and exceeded our expectations. Food & extras We had full board and at first we considered all-inclusive, but for us it would not have been worth it. We drank whatever we wanted, used the minibar daily, and in the end we paid around 1,000 USD for two people. All-inclusive would have cost ab

A beautiful and well-kept island with great attention to detail 🌿 From the first moment, you truly feel welcome — the warmth and kindness of the staff make you feel at home 🤍 The island grows its own vegetables and plants, which gives the place a very special, natural touch 🌱 You can clearly feel the Italian touch of the owner — elegance, style, and attention to detail blended perfectly with Maldivian architecture 🇮🇹✨ The food is excellent — fresh fish, vegetables, fruit, and delicious Asian dishes 🐟🍍 Everything is prepared with love, care, and great attention to quality. A truly peaceful place that stays in your heart long after you leave 🌴✨ Thank you, Nika Island Resort, for a wonderful stay and a beautiful experience. 💙

We are so happy we have chosen Nika. Beautiful island, well kept, lots of activities, great helpful staff. We had beach bills and loved it. Our special thanks to Diana for warm welcome and for organizing all the trips for. We have to be back!

Everything was perfect. The room was very confortable and the food was delicious. We had a very good time in Nika. The staff was very gentle, kind, always pretty available and quick reactive. I recommend everybody to come to this paradise.

Had a very nice stay at Nika, the island is beautiful, the restaurant and bars staff are extremely nice and the accommodation is what you can expect from a resort like this. Negative point for the “Guest Relations” people, their only objective is to sell you a maximum of extras (super expensive activities, massages, …). They are all Italian so if you’re Italian they will certainly be nice, if you’re not, go to another resort! The owner of the hotel is wandering around without saying anything to the guests, very strange. And the departure communication is awful and not what you should expect after such a stay…mixed feelings for us and we will certainly not go back.

had an absolutely perfect stay at Nika Island Resort. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every moment unforgettable. The island itself is stunning — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. The food was fantastic, with a great variety and fresh, flavorful dishes every day. There were also plenty of activities and opportunities to explore, relax, or just enjoy the beauty of the Maldives. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish. I can’t recommend Nika Island Resort highly enough!
