Soaking up all the memories from our time in Bandos, Maldives, one month ago. It truly holds a very special place in our family’s heart. We can’t believe this was already our fifth visit—and we’re already counting down to the next one.
We spent Christmas and New Year there, enjoying ten full days of sunshine, active snorkelling, sunbathing, and a wide range of activities organised by the wonderful resort staff. Our two boys, now 8 and 10, absolutely loved every moment. Bandos is one of those rare islands where children are genuinely welcome. The kids’ club is fantastic, with thoughtfully planned and highly engaging activities for different age groups. A special thank you to Emily, Cherry, Darling, and Alecia, who take care of the children with so much care, love, and enthusiasm.
We would also like to acknowledge how professional, heartfelt, and kind the staff and chefs are across all the restaurants at Bandos. Their genuine passion and respect for what they do can be felt at every step. Thank you to Nyaz, Swapan, and Fathey for always looking after us so well during meal times. And of course, Guru’s cocktails never fail—always perfectly crafted, with a tropical twist.
Bandos continues to feel like a second home to us.

Perfect location - just 15/20 minutes by speedboat from Malé Airport, with a convenient round-trip transfer option (USD 110), ideal if you prefer to avoid long travel times.
The food was delicious, with buffet options available at one of the restaurants if you’re on a meal plan. Otherwise, there are several other restaurants on the island to explore.
The island has a wide range of villas, and you can swim freely around different areas. Standard rooms are a bit small but all are beach-facing right from the door, which is a big plus. Deluxe rooms are more spacious, though not all offer a direct beach view you may need to step outside to enjoy it.
Marine life is a highlight - different parts of the island offer unique underwater experiences, including colorful fish, small sharks, and beautiful coral reefs.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms were cleaned twice daily, and the entire island was well-maintained and spotless throughout our stay.
One minor downside is that seaplanes frequently pass overhead since the island is close to the airport, which may be noticeable at times.
Overall, a fantastic stay with great service, vibrant marine life, and a lively atmosphere.

Excellent service! The person we called was very responsible and spoke Chinese. We arrived at 4 AM and he arranged for us to enter Bandos around 6 AM, then took us to the island by speedboat at 7 AM and got us checked in immediately. The front desk staff who spoke Chinese was very professional. We initially planned to leave at 3 PM, but later wanted to leave at 1 PM, and he was very accommodating. He got us onto the boat at 1 PM. Just look for him if you come here; he's truly dedicated and professional.

Lovely week spent at the Bandos Maldives Resort. Food, service and accomodation all very good.
There are plenty of sunbeds available all around the island with excellent snorkeling in the house reef just off the beach near Huvan Restaurant.
Lovely to enjoy a cocktail and watch sunset each evening from the Huvan sunset bar.
The Bandos team really took the time to make speciality dinners on the beach memorable.
Overall a wonderful week in paradise and will certainly look to return.

We would especially like to thank Fijo and Malsha. Always friendly and helpful — they anticipate every wish before you even have to ask! Malsha also prepares any dish you could wish for.
In our travel group, we had a person with gluten intolerance. Every evening, she offered us a new, delicious menu tailored especially for her. Fijo was also always there — friendly and funny at all times!
The island itself is beautiful as well. At the edge of the reef, we saw sharks, sea turtles, and lots of other marine life. The hotel is clean, and everything is perfectly organized.
We will definitely come back!

Our stay at Bandos Maldives for our honeymoon was truly unforgettable. The beaches are stunning, the water is crystal clear, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful. The food was exceptional throughout our stay. There was always a great variety, everything was fresh and delicious. The themed evenings at the Sand Bar were super nice and created a wonderful atmosphere.
A very special mention to the bartender Guru. He is absolutely amazing and was one of the highlights of our stay. His cocktails are perfect, he is super kind and friendly, and recommends drinks based on your taste. Truly outstanding service.
We also went on the sunset dolphin cruise, which was magical. Watching dolphins during sunset was one of the most beautiful moments of our trip and something we will always remember.
The only small thing I was slightly disappointed about was that I had seen beautiful honeymoon bed decorations in photos and were really dreaming about experiencing that on arrival as well since we were also on a honeymoon and we informed them in advance. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive one and that was the only little detail missing from an otherwise perfect stay.
What truly makes Bandos special, however, is the hospitality and the people working there. Every staff member we met was warm, kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. Their friendliness, professionalism and positive energy created such a welcoming atmosphere and made us feel truly valued as guests. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and his birthday here, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable from the beautiful decorations and complimentary treats to the immaculate, cool room filled with a refreshing lemongrass fragrance each time we returned.
The island is beautiful with lovely clear magical waters, an absolute treat to the eyes.
A special thanks to Shafeeq & others from housekeeping, who went the extra mile to prepare the bathtub, bed, and room so thoughtfully for anniversary and New Year. Roni kindly offered us a lovely photo shoot one evening on the deck, which created memories we will cherish forever. We thought he was professionally trained!
The buffet team, including Janani, and her colleague always greeted with a welcoming smile. Abu, Sujiv Singh (who made delicious dosas!) were always so warm and welcoming. Waiters were polite and friendly.
The Gala event was exceptional however for the price of 280 pp atleast one soft drink should have been included.
Manager Ahmed Afrah, German Iady at reception, and the entire team were incredibly attentive and accommodating.
Our hearts truly swelled at the end when the staff escorted us to our boat and waved goodbye as we sailed into the horizon, such a beautiful and emotional farewell.
One of the best holidays we have ever had, and we have travelled extensively around the world. Exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended!

From the beginning, the friendly and attentive service set the tone for the entire holiday. Everything felt smooth and well organized, and the staff created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay.
The beach is beautiful and very well maintained, with clear water and plenty of space to unwind. Our villa was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering exactly what we were looking for in a Maldives holiday. The food was varied and of very good quality, with enough choice to make every meal feel easy and satisfying.
One aspect that stood out was the very international atmosphere. Guests from many different countries come together here, which creates a lively but balanced vibe. There was also entertainment every evening, offering something different each night and adding a nice rhythm to the days without feeling intrusive.
The New Year’s Eve celebration was a real highlight. It was well organized, with excellent food, live music, and a warm, festive mood. The fireworks were a beautiful moment and made the evening feel special. The event worked equally well for couples and families, and people of all ages seemed to feel comfortable and included.

The place is lovely but severely put off by their extortionate prices on any extras and stupid rules. For example you can't get a hot chocolate or chocolate shake if you're an adult - only for kids. You can only get drinks from set places in the resort as all inclusive with the others having to be paid for. Excursions are priced ridiculously high. Staff aren't the friendliest and don't smile much or help past the bare minimum. Difficult to get service at breakfast time. As a group difficult to find a table to accommodate with many large tables being left uncleaned since last use forcing diners to put together multiple little round tables. Food selection is limited with only approx 3-4 main dishes and a couple sides then repeated. The food is good though despite selection being severely limited. A la carte dining is much too expensive.
Rooms are nice and spacious. Bathrooms also spacious but but very bland in decor with a gym shower room vibe.
Overall cleanliness of the resort is good.

There are no shops or services outside of the hotel so once you arrive here you are stuck and they take full advantage of that. My recommendation would be to stay elsewhere for a couple of days if you had planned to do excursions or buy your own diving/snorkelling equipment which will be cheaper for single use than to hire the nasty stuff from here for 24 hours.
