Reviews
The food could be better, there was a lot of cumin in many dishes, but overall it was good and we enjoyed it.
We had a wonderful time at Jungle Restaurant. The food was good and the staff team, including Jonathan, Prativa, Leon and Ram, was amazing. We definitely plan to return!
Also, a big compliment to Manisha and her team who cleaned our room daily, they did an excellent job and made our stay even more comfortable! The hotel is very clean throughout.
Despite being a relatively large hotel, the atmosphere feels very personal, warm, and friendly thanks to the excellent and welcoming staff. Because we booked our stay directly through the hotel’s website, we received many discounts and additional benefits, such as free airport transfer and an all-inclusive program.
The rooms are clean and well maintained, with daily housekeeping. The food in the restaurant is excellent, offering a wide and varied selection. Everything is always fresh, and the staff are helpful, kind, and always smiling.
The hotel also offers an indoor pool, saunas, and bowling, providing plenty of activities even during the winter season. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
The Coral buffet restaurant had lots of choices to suit everybody's palette & the specialty restaurants were a real treat to eat in. Thank you China for always pointing out table availability & greeting us. The adult entertainment team were outstanding & the evening shows were mesmerizing & the choreography executed so well. Do visit the Pearl Spa & spoil yourself for a treatment or 2. Afterwards pop into the steam room & sauna too. We went to the gym a few times, which was reasonably equipped & went swimming in the inside pool & the outside pool as well . There is a great bus service available to travel & explore other parts of the island. Do visit Gozo, Valetta, Sliema, St.Julians Bay. The busses & ferry service are very reasonably priced. All in all, we had a great time at the DB Seabank Resort & Spa, Melliha Bay. Our thanks to all the staff who were very helpful & hardworking & made our stay.
The STAFF are just amazing, Kamal cleaned our room and he was just the most hardworking of men and always so happy - he really blessed us as a family, making us feel so very welcome.
And would also like to give a special mention to Julio in the restaurant whose service is with excellence, always helpful and ready to please.
The resort has everything. Large family room with bath and shower. Towels and all the extras you need, even a sewing kit! We had a balcony overlooking the pool which is so pretty.
We did everything from Sunday markets, snorkelling in the blue lagoon, looking through historic towns and streets of Mdina, Gozo and Valette to exploring museums, castles, the National Aquarium, to Jet Skiing and cruises to various islands and so much more! A fabulous holiday.
We visited in November and it was a bonus to have evening entertainment which i have to say was very good. The team gave their all and put on some great shows. Animation team especially Emile from Morocco were brilliant. She was such a lovely girl with great personality and her skills with holiday makers first class. Hotel well situated for all bus routes. The bus stop is over the road from the hotel.
The hotel in general was a little worn out. Just small things like the grouting, light switches, socket outlets. Definitely 1st world issues though!
This was our second visit to Seabank Mellieha,we love the location. Our room was lovely, with a nice little courtyard.
Our only gripe was,we like to use the indoor pool to swim in the morning as it is adults only till 9am. However, this year, several times children were there earlier. Maybe make new guests more aware of this,as possibly they didn't realise? (Despite the signs).
Apart from that, we had a lovely holiday, oh the evening shows are great too!
1. The food just was not as good sadly, the same potatoes every night swimming in oil. Over cooked meat and fish. The themes were just a mixture of things that didn’t go together? British night- white fish and mussels stew, turkey, gammon and a tray of mushy peas?! Kids food, rock hard nuggets and chips every night. We tried dinner at different times, sadly no different. The salad choices were not changed much and everything seemed repetitive despite different themed nights. Our last night , we had some dessert and one we tried tasted stale.
2. We stayed for 7 nights , could not get booked into any of the other restaurants all week!
3. We went to a later breakfast at the laguna restaurant at 10:15 am, there was not a single empty table that was clean. We went outside and moved some dirty plates ourselves. Went to get some breakfast, one cold drinks machine was broken and there was no glasses to get a cold drink. We gave up and went out for breakfast
4. One night I couldn’t face dinner, my father took my son to dinner. They went to get drinks and put them on the table to then go and get food. When they returned to the table their drinks had been taken and another couple were sitting at the table. They had to then find somewhere else to sit.
5. Staff over all seemed lacking, and not as friendly as before or as attentive. The nicest staff were the room cleaners. Even going to dinner before the staff would guide you to a table or ask if you wanted to sit outside - we found most nights there either wasn’t a member of staff there or we basically just got a finger pointing to a general area where there was a table.
6. The water machine on our floor, 4th floor was out of order the entire duration of our stay
7. The general appearance of the hotel was looking worn. Our room had 2 plug sockets that didn’t work, reception did send someone to repair them, and one ended up working. The sun loungers stained, side of the hotel paint peeling, and my son was picking up fallen off tiles that were in the swimming pool
It was such a shame paying for all inclusive and not enjoying the food, the food is one of the biggest parts of an all inclusive holiday so impacted massively our holiday enjoyment. We do appreciate the hotel was at full capacity, and maybe that impacted the service but sadly all these things added up to not a very good experience for us and has made us not want to return to the seabank.
The hotel was clean and staff were great. Food options were good and pretty much what you would expect from a all inclusive hotel. The food wasnt amazing but it was good enough for what you needed and paid for.
I requested a walk in shower as my mother has reduced mobility and they dealt with this perfectly.
The only slight draw backs were as follows;
I reported via the app that our safe didnt work and they never came to repair it.
I requested the use of a hair dryer as the built in ones were not good for my wife but they couldnt supply anything.
There are no lifeguards which for a family hotel, I thought was strange.
Other than the main restaurant, there were no other lunch options. From going to similar hotels in the past, ive always had access to a pool side quick bite type of thing to save having to dry off and get dressed.
The air con was sufficient but im glad it was October as it didnt seem too cool.
Other than those minor things, i would definitely return. Oh the evening entertainment team were so good. I didnt expect much from an in house team but the shows were great.
The sea is right in front of the hotel, just a three-minute walk away! Even in October, the weather was pleasantly warm—not too hot— and we could enjoy swimming comfortably in both the sea and the pool.
