Hotel Santana in St. Pauls Bay

Luckily Enough it was only for one night.It is regrettable that during my stay, I encountered several inconveniences.Starting with, the air conditioning unit in my room was malfunctioning, and the bed provided was two singles instead of the requested double bed. Besides squeeking noise.Additionally, the access card issued to me did not grant access to my room, necessitating the help from the cleaning department to open my room. Furthermore, despite booking two rooms together, my friends and I were assigned rooms on different floors, causing unnecessary inconvenience,also,the toilet flushing mechanism was also found to be faulty, requiring excessive effort to operate.Lastly not to mention the bad smell from the waiter during breakfast. Won't be my choise next time.

The only positive review, I can give is the location and the cleaniness of the room.

I think for a 4-star hotel, it was definitely a big miss for myself and my family. 4-stars is definitely too generous and here’s why:

1. The rooms are alright. We were initially offered a corner room by the end of the hotel, which was horrible for a light sleeper like me. I barely slept the first night because I could hear the construction in the building next door! As well as the footsteps in the corridor due to the bed being right next to the door.

2. After the first night, I asked for a room change, which was met with a bit of hesitance but was helped with. Although the new room was bigger, there was another issue.

3. When showering, the water would leak through and cover the bathroom in water. We had to call the reception twice to ask them to clean it. In the end they placed towels on the floor, which they changed daily. Although I appreciate the cleaners effort, it’s simply awful that we are paying for a stay in a place and they can’t even fix the shower!

4. The cleaning could definitely be better. Despite the cleaner being friendly, the room cleaning service was mediocre. There were hairs on the floor and I was given a used towel - it smelt horrific.

The only good thing was the breakfast buffet and the lovely staff working there. They were prompt in removing the dishes and cups, and were very friendly.

Overall, it’s definitely not worthy of 4-stars and it's not a place we will be returning to.
