Lana Villa in Muscat

A very nice and sociable breakfast area in the garden. Located on the beach, it's very bright and open. The staff were friendly, and any problems were resolved quickly and courteously. Communication beforehand was a bit cumbersome at times, and the bathroom in the double room was extremely small and cramped. It was also a shame that the lovely terrace looked somewhat neglected. Note: Swimming is not permitted on the beach in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, the bicycles were out of order during our stay.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Oman, each time for two nights. On our first stay, the rooms facing the sea were fully booked, and we were given a room at the back. This room felt like the worst in the entire building: a wobbly wardrobe whose door I held in my hand when closing it, bent wire hangers, and a toilet door whose handle I held in my hand when opening it. Since I didn't want to stay there, we were later given a different room. Also at the back, but acceptable. Of course, you have to consider the relatively low price. On our second stay, we got a lovely room facing the sea. I was very happy with it. The sea view is truly beautiful, and the waterfront road in front of the hotel is quiet. Breakfast was okay. The freshly made omelet and the fresh fruit in a glass were good. Unfortunately, on two separate days, I received a cheese with a whitish coating, which I threw away. Dates, biscuits, and coffee were available all day for self-service. That was a very nice touch. The staff is very friendly and helpful, readily assisting with any questions or problems. They even prepared breakfast for us before our early departure at 6:00 AM. Unfortunately, we didn't meet the owner personally. He was recommended to us by the travel agency for tips and suggestions, especially at the beginning of our trip. The accommodation's proximity to the airport is very convenient, but restaurants and shops are hardly within walking distance. The rooftop terrace and the ground-floor lounges are attractively and comfortably furnished. Overall, the accommodation is definitely recommendable, although there are a few things that could be improved.
