Carlton City Hotel Singapore in Singapore

This is a great hotel it is very close to public transportation, hawker markets, restaurants and Chinatown. The hotel itself is very clean, the front desk staff is inviting and knowledgeable of the area. The pool is beautiful. There is an inside and outdoor gym and a very nice roof top bar.
The only downside of this hotel for me is that there is clear glass between the bathroom and the bedroom so there is no privacy when someone is using the bathroom.

We just spent 8 nights here. After previously staying at their sister hotel on Bras Basar road we decided a change of location was in order. Right from our arrival at 7pm we were treated with respect, politeness and an attitude that 'nothing was a proplem'. Mai on the front desk was exceptional assisting us with any request we made. She always ensured our requests were actioned promptly and always with a smile. Thank you Mai.
The team in the Cooling Tower Bar were also very attentive. On the first night we decided to venture up there for a look & drink - the guys were extremely helpful. The next time we headed up for a drink they welcomed us like long lost family & we felt very special.
The hotel location is perfect - close to Tanjong Pagar MRT (2mins walk) and Chinatown & Maxwell Hawker Centre close by. We think the special point of interest is that accross the road is a local shopping centre with numerous family operated restaurants plus a supermarket. We ate at the restaurants often trying each one offering different national dishes plus mingling with the locals who live in the 6 Housing Towers. It was safe & we felt good supporting the locals. Great vibe night & day.
We would recommend Carlton City Hotel for its location, service & amenities. A hotel we would choose if we return to SG.

Hotel is just 3 minutes walk Tanjong Pagar Station with lots of food options nearby. Hotel is veryclean and nice, staff are amazing. Will definitely come back

Enjoyed a 4 night stay here in late January. It was good value, we booked a Deluxe room and it is as you would expect, clean and decent size but nothing special. I enjoyed using the pool and outdoor gym in the morning, they were never busy. Rooftop bar is ok - good view but the drinks are quite expensive, around 20SGD for a beer.

Excellent service from the minute you stepped in to the hotel. They accommodate early check-in if the room is available. Awesome location to CBD. Supermarket and 7-eleven are close by.

After my business was done, I deliberately stayed an extra night to enjoy Vietnam's 'Little Paris of the East,' but honestly, I was a bit disappointed! The hotel is right in the heart of Saigon's old quarter, close to the Opera House and the Governor's Palace. It's surrounded by Saigon's bustling commercial district, so you can just step out and explore. The Governor's Palace and Ho Chi Minh Memorial Square are a short ten-minute walk away, and it's close to the Saigon River. The hotel is a charming, old-world five-star property; the facilities are a bit dated, but they are well-maintained and clean. The bed is very comfortable, and you can watch international Chinese channels and Dragon TV. Outside the window, you can see the Saigon riverside and commercial area, witnessing Saigon's development and changes firsthand. However, the motorbike noise is quite loud – it truly is a kingdom of motorbikes! It's also very convenient to find Vietnamese food and the bar street is nearby. All in all, it was a decent stay!

Check in was fast and reception staff are friendly and helpful. We got a corner room and the view was facing the shophouses and Chinatown. Nice view! The hotel room was clean and spacious. Didn’t have a chance to use the facilities in the hotel due to tight schedule. Would definitely visit again!

My Stay at Carlton City Hotel Singapore

I had a great time at Carlton City Hotel Singapore. The WiFi in-room was strong and worked smoothly the whole stay. Check-in was fast and easy, with no fuss or delays. The hotel’s location near MRT and city transport made getting around simple and convenient.

The restaurants and bars at the hotel were solid. I enjoyed good food, and the vibe was pleasant. The hotel also offers a well-equipped gym, which was nice for workouts. There’s an outdoor pool available too. I didn’t use it this trip, but it looked scenic and relaxing, definitely a spot I’d check out next time. And the rooftop bar / lounge gave nice evening vibes and a good setting to unwind.

I’ve got to say: since it was my birthday during the stay, I got a complimentary pastry from staff a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel more personal. Also, funny little detail: there was a visible “no durian fruit” sign. I didn’t know about durian until I got a whiff now totally understand why they forbid it.

Overall: clean, modern rooms; friendly, professional staff; good amenities; excellent location. I’d absolutely stay at Carlton City Hotel Singapore again.
