The good - water pressure and temperature in the shower was great. Now the rest... This might once have been a nice place, but it is now faded and unloved. Our ground floor room was dirty with little ghost ants running over every surface and cockroaches coming out at night. The cockroaches were clearly living in the decaying door jam of our bathroom and no amount of spraying got rid of them. I also saw one in the main dining room. After complaints to Reception who promised to do better cleaning and spraying the pests remained, the pile of someone's used contact lenses found on the floor of one of the rooms was still there and the pile of wood shavings by the wardrobe that I presume was the work of termites never got swept away. Clearly cleaning meant straighten the beds. We only got replacement towels on day 2 of our stay and they were soon covered in ants. I kept my toothbrush in a plastic bag in my room. I woke up with ants on me. I couldn't go the the toilet in the night without first getting past the cockroaches. It was grim. We had gone all inclusive but it was not great You could only get food during allotted times and then only in the dining room which was basic and repetitive and after seeing a cockroach there I lost my appetite. Snacks by the pool had to be paid separately. The soft drinks were the cheapest supermarket stuff, no juices, no brand name carbonated drinks, etc. The cocktails were packet mixes. There was only one bar open in the evening and the atmosphere wasn't great. The taxi driver who dropped us off warned us about a nearby area - don't go there at night and if someone tries to give you a bracelet don't accept it, he told us. We did indeed encounter the bracelet scam and were grateful to have been warned. The area NW of the hotel could charitably be called lively. Search for reviews of Veronicas if you want details. The "hotel" seems to be largely timeshares with a management company doing the bare minimum and no principal owner taking an interest. There is no pride in anything. The staff seem unhappy, the lack of care made me sad and the room made my skin crawl. I couldn't wait to go home.

Where do I start, on booking in someone shouted “welcome too paradise “ that started alarm bells, first night youths shouting young girls screaming, doors banging, running up and down corridors, no air on so had to shut balcony doors in 30’ heat, no fans available, floor in room was dirty, one night 3am someone tried to get in our room banging on the door, I could go on the place was a nightmare.

So we read the reviews and was dreading arriving. Yes it’s loud, yes I heard people throwing up, no I didn’t get woken up at all hours, no I didn’t hear the screaming between 1am & 6am. I did hear the stories of show me your Willy being screamed off the balcony for 3 hours at 2am. I saw a video of a mum and daughter kicking lumps out of each other in their room from another balcony in the hotel! The rooms are clean, it did have a few cobwebs but no cockroaches, no horror stories. One pillow had a fag burn in it, the beds were comfy. We did have aircon!! The food is basic and repetitive, we are the most picky eaters…. We didn’t starve!! Most of the staff are friendly, if I’d had to deal with the knobs they’ve had to around the pool and at night, I’d not be too friendly either. I can best describe this hotel as love island on speed!! The hotel constantly stinks of ****. Overall we did have a good time and we did become parents to some of the young people at the hotel. No I wouldn’t come back, it wasn’t as bad I we was expecting…. FYI we were in room 2101 and only got woke up through the night 1/2 out of 14 nights here!
