Playa Esperanza Resort Affiliated by Meliá in Platja de Muro

Our stay at Esperanza Resorts was extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the price. We had booked two lateral sea view rooms. While one of them had a decent sea view, the other (room 2501) had only a tiny glimpse of the sea, with the rest of the view facing buildings. This is unacceptable for the category we paid for. The housekeeping was catastrophic: - dirty glasses and empty bottles left in the room, - dirty plates and food leftovers not removed, - used tissues and trash not picked up, As a direct result of this negligence, the room became infested with ants. This is absolutely disgusting and a clear lack of hygiene. For a hotel charging €400 per night, this is beyond unacceptable. When we complained, the management gave us an absurd explanation: that their staff “does not remove anything unless it is placed in the bin.. In any professional hotel, used glasses, empty bottles, dirty plates, and obvious trash are always replaced and cleaned. Here, this negligence created unsanitary conditions and a very unpleasant stay. To make matters worse, the reception staff were arrogant and unhelpful. Despite several calls to report the issues, nothing was done, and we were spoken to with disrespect and zero consideration for the fact that we were paying such a high price. We spent over €2,200 for three nights, and what we experienced was not even close to the standards of a luxury resort – more like a poor 3-star hotel. No apology, no compensation, no professionalism.

It’s unfortunate that the service is so terrible as the hotel and location are good. The front desk is awful. There is one reception desk man that is particularly terrible. He was rude to both my daughter and my son. You are treated as if you are going to run away without paying or you have to uncross your legs from the sofa. They have completely forgotten customer service and who is paying. Breakfast is like a rat race. Our room was good with fantastic view. There are lots of chairs throughout the grass property. For the beach you have to pay 21 euros as this isn’t part of the hotel but the beaches are lovely with all sand a clean warm water.

Terrible experience at Playa Esperanza, Mallorca. Staff were unprofessional, aggressive, disrespectful, and treated guests with contempt. Rooms were dirty, beds uncomfortable with springs sticking out, flat pillows (only one per person), and cleaning not done. Woken up every morning at 5 a.m. by noise. No free sunbeds at the beach (20€ per day), no relaxation space without paying (7€ for a bottle of water). Pool loungers moldy, no mattresses. Buffet was awful (stale pastries). Constant harassment from staff made our stay a nightmare. We paid over 13,000€ for this disaster. Absolutely avoid!

I am in a difficult position here as it never happened to me to write a bad review about a 4 star resort but here i had a terribile experience! I Chose the hotel as i thought it was affiliated Melia (always had great experiences with them) but it wasn’t! I called several times the hotel to ask infonfor example about the beach if it was family friendly and they told me it was the best beach in Maiorca and it turned out it wasn’t: waivy a lot of wind, we had to rent a car to find better places! The personaille of the hotel was extremely rude which normally is not the case for spanish people…They force you to always have on a bracelent and i told them i was allergic and one of the staff asked me for my personal health information. He said specifically “ If you come back and you proove you are allergic i will give you the money back” Outrageous very intrusive and irrispectful! The only gentle people were the cleaning ladies very kind…Food was not great either..We had the half board but most of the time they were cooking in advance and things were kept warm but at the end they were half cold! Fortunately we had a couple of restaurants around us so we went there despite the fact we paid for the service…Unfortunately my total experience was not good at all

Terrible Experience – Unfriendly Staff, Loud Nights, and Poor Service

We had a deeply disappointing stay at this hotel, and I would not recommend it to anyone—especially families with children.

From the start, the front desk and management staff were unfriendly and unaccommodating. A simple room request made well in advance was completely disregarded, and any follow-up was met with indifference. When moving into the room I offered to carry most of our heavy belongings myself, yet the concierge still had the audacity to leave my wife—with a baby and multiple suitcases—stranded by the elevator while he walked off. Absolutely unacceptable.

The noise level each evening is relentless. Loud music blares through the property every night until at least 10-11 PM. This isn’t faint background music—it’s full-on party volume that shakes the walls. If you’re traveling with kids or expect to get a decent night’s sleep, stay far away. Calling the front desk for assistance is pointless; they either ignore the calls or offer false reassurances.

Adding insult to injury, beach towels can only be exchanged every three days, which is completely impractical for a beach resort. It feels like every policy is designed for the hotel’s convenience, not the guest’s comfort.

The only silver lining in this mess was the housekeeping staff. They were friendly, respectful, and kept the rooms clean—easily the most professional and considerate part of the entire operation.

Bottom line: A poorly run hotel with shockingly bad service, loud disruptive evenings, and staff that clearly don’t care. If you’re looking for rest, respect, or even just basic decency, look elsewhere.
