I don't normally write reviews but they helped me so much to decide this hotel when I was looking, so I vowed to do it for everywhere I stay now. We have just returned from Villa Luz hotel (Late Oct/Early Nov). This was the last week before closing and was apprehensive that things would start slowing down but I was wrong and you wouldn't have thought any difference. The hotel itself is in a built up area of Gandia out side the Gandia town just under an hour away by car from Valencia airport. The facilities are great and to a good quality, the rooms are well equipped for what we needed with tea/coffee making facilities, soap/shampoo, hair dryer, TV, Alexa speaker. Highlights of the room are the shower! This is an amazing touch in a well equipped room. The staff are friendly and accommodating, speak Spanish and English which was great, I had no issues with any of the staff there and they were always there to help and were very friendly. The food is really good too with plenty of choice on the food and drink front. My concern when going all inclusive is always watered down drinks and cheap food but the hotel did not scrimp on the quality of the food OR the drink which is great and was very satisfied with this. The swimming pool area is good too, it has two pools, two jacuzzi style pools (the warmest of the pools) and two large slides, aside from the pool being cold (to be expected) this was a lovely area to relax and get involved with some games that the staff come round asking for guests to participate. Overall this was a great and much needed time away with my wife and 2 children and would recommend to anyone. My tip is to pay extra for the all inclusive plus as this gives you access to the Magic Beach Club a short walk from the hotel to the beach where they serve drinks and snacks (crisps, olives etc.). This was an amazing extra at the beach and when ordering through EasyJet this was relatively cheap per person and also gives you extra perks like access to the gaming room which was great for the kids (you have to book a 30 minute slot through an app). My constructive criticism of this hotel are minimal really. We had a great time and the hotel is great for small families or even couples wanting to get away, I would say it's more catered for families with children personally. The meal and entertainment times didn't suit us as a family. Breakfast was from 7:30-10:30am which was spot on, lunch 1:30-3:30pm and dinner 7:30-9:30pm which then led to entertainment (including kids entertainment) at 10:00pm. There was some bits going on through the day but a minor criticism for us was the entertainment after a long day of enjoying your holiday was a little late in the day for us but it certainly didn't deter our experience of the hotel, we just adapted to it. The area at this time of year was a little on the quiet side with not too much going on, most of the bars and shops were closed, we found heading toward Gandia town was more open but with it be

I have no idea where all these good reviews are coming from maybe I’m the wrong hotel the food is awful we have been here for 5 days and so far and not only is dinner just rinse and repeat lunch is actually the same foods a dinner with a different flavour fountain there is absolutely no gourmet to be found at the restaurant. The rooms and small and the pool does always have sunbed that’s because it’s freezing cold and grubby so no surprise really. I won’t be returning anywhere near this place again

What an amazing hotel. We are here at the moment and although it’s out of season and not much to do outside the hotel we have found the food, advice and service from the all the reception staff is exceptional. I would particularly like to mention Victor who had a smile on his face from day one, even when he was feeling poorly I watched his professionalism and personality shine through he went above and beyond even when he wasn’t well. I can guarantee you won’t find a better food than here it’s amazing

Hotel was ok your average would some it up well. Beds were comfortable however the air conditioning did not work , we went as a large family group and only one room out of 3 had working air conditioning. Bar snd cleaning staff were lovely however the receptionists were quite rude and not helpful at all . I dropped my purse and it was handed into the reception when I got it back only a few coins was left , they took over 150 euro , another staff member told me yo ask at reception to watch the cameras as it was possible the receptionist took the money I didn't ask as I doubt if they did they'd agree however when they gave me the purse I opened it and said id 150 in this its gone which the receptionist said you couldn't fit 150 in that , when we said about the air conditioning they said they'd send someone up , which never happened. I also had my car keys taken I had made my bed and took the keys from our baby buggy and left them in the middle of our made bed so you couldn't miss them , when I came back from breakfast the room was cleaned and the keys were gone , again receptionist were No help at all .

Amazing, hotel, staff, food, drink and exceeded our expectations. We stayed as my husband was competing in the ICAN Triathlon with our grown up kids and this hotel made our holiday. Nothing was too much , organised earlier full breakfast on the day of Triathlon, sorted out our rooms as we hadn't specified that we wanted twin beds for our son and daughter. Anika the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely lady. The lovely spacious rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. The bar/ dining staff always friendly and professional. Highly recommend this hotel and hopefully we will get a chance to come back.

Enjoyable for kids.. however for the price this is not luxury in the slightest. It’s like haven in the uk. There is ultra all inclusive which is not an option to book, so certain restaurants & the beach bar are not included. Have to pay for towels, cups and water bottles which is not made clear. Quite far from the beach. Very dated.. Also if you are a brit, you will not see any other brits everyone is spanish and it doesn’t seem like they enjoy the presence of brits at all. Hardly anyone speaks English, only a few bar staff - which were lovely and very helpful.

If not for the construction work, very good value for money Arrived to the sound of a jackhammer loudly breaking apart concrete on the hotel property, which I discovered was the reason the pool with the large slides was closed. This was extremely disappointing as one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was for the kids to enjoy the slides. For the first three days we had to listen to the jackhammer, there was a smaller kids pool available which kept the kids entertained. Once the work was done and the pool was opened they had a great time on the slides and the queues were never long. Meanwhile, the all inclusive food and drinks were great. Different themed nights at the restaurant (Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Chinese and others). Burger hut in the outdoor patio area for 2hrs between lunch and dinner, which was extremely helpful as dinner starts later than Brits are used to. Indoor and outdoor bar, drinks selection was a little limited but was still OK. There was occasionally a minor language barrier with a few of the restaurant staff, but if you don't know the Spainsh for what you are asking for it isnt hard to find a good English speaking staff waiter/waitress so you'll be fine The kids enjoyed the kids club in the evening and there were about 8 games consoles in another room that you could book to use during the day. Less than 10 minute peaceful walk down one road to the beach which was beautiful and huge and was always quiet.

It was a perfect holiday. I could not ask for better. Stayed for 4 days. Rooms were not cleaned and tea and coffee not restock. No clean towels. We had to ask reception for clean towels. I can't understand why our room was not cleaned. Everybody else on the floor room was cleaned. 1 day is a mistake. But 2 days no. No excuse for that. That put a real damper on my holidays

We travelled as a family of 4 with a pre-teen and a toddler. We all had a great stay, all things considered. We are not ones to complain lightly and tend to make the best of whatever hand we're dealt. So, I'll firstly get the negative out of the way. The main reason we chose this hotel was the slides and pools for the kids to enjoy. We were not informed before arrival that there were any issues with this, but on our first morning we noticed that the main pool with slides was closed and there were workers demolishing a small structure by the pool which caused a lot of noise and dust everywhere. The pool with the slides was closed for 5 of our 7 days and that dust then resulted in having to close the second pool for two days as well. The works were quite loud and we could hear them from our room from 08:00 onwards. To give the hotel their credit, they upgraded us to "ultra" all inclusive (so we could get drinks down at the beach and use the Gaming Room in the hotel). We didn't really bother with the evening entertainment so would suggest entertaining yourselves in the evenings. The hotel was also about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Alicante airport which we didn't realise when we booked - that's our fault, not the hotel's! We pre-booked a pretty expensive private transfer but probably better to do it in advance than chance it when you arrive. Now that's out the way, there's a lot this hotel does really well! - The whole place is clean and well looked after, it's a pretty small complex so you're never too far away from your room, the bar, the pools etc. - The food was fantastic, so far above our expectations for an all-inclusive buffet. The food was fresh, really tasty and full of flavour. Themed nights like Italian and Asian were really nice too. Could not fault the food once. Even if you're a fussy eater, there is sure to be something you will enjoy. The pork cheeks in red wine on Saturday were one of the most nicely cooked meats I've ever eaten. - The drinks were all very nice from the pool bar and main bar by reception, including the best Mojito I've ever drank. Named brand spirits and draught Cruzcampo! Uncommon for an all-inclusive hotel. - The hotel is only a 5 minute walk down to a beautiful sandy beach, no stones or seaweed to be seen. - All staff were very polite & friendly. - There is a small soft-play area which our toddler enjoyed every day. - The Wi-fi and air conditioning worked perfectly. - There's a snack van every day offering chips, burgers & hotdogs if you're hungry between lunch & dinner. - The 'Bali' style beds around the pools are great to relax on and give some shade. Availability was fine, we managed to get one every day. They don't open the main pool area until 12:00 so there were no towels out on beds at 06:00! Also note: the opening times of the restaurant and entertainment were a bit strange to us but not an issue. Breakfast was 08:00-10:00. Lunch was 13:00-15:00. Dinner was 20:00-22:00. Entertainment started

Unfortunately we are hugely disappointed with the Hotel. Initially the check in at the hotel gave a fairly decent first impression and looked clean and modern. Our first day went well and we spent time at the beach before returning to the hotel pool and the kids loved the water slides which were easy to access for our 16 year old disabled son. We woke up on our second day to see to our dismay that the pool and slides were closed with the pool being emptied. Workmen were busy using concrete breaking equipment dismantling a building adjacent to the pool. The noise and dust was awful not to mention that the main reason we booked the hotel was now taken away! We fly home tomorrow and the slides and pool have been closed all the rest of our holiday with no prior warning from the hotel or holiday company. This unfortunately has ruined our holiday as the only small pool left for us to access was overcrowded with a full hotel trying to access it. If the facilities were closed we should have had prior warning and the opportunity to cancel or move hotels. Food is average at meal times, decent selection but hot food is often luke warm. Rooms are decent but maid service were not routinely replacing shower gel, loo roll etc and we had to catch them in the corridor a few times to replace things. All in all our holiday was spoilt so please beware if you are heading out here. Why the work wasn’t done in the off season ive no idea!
