I recently stayed at this hotel and experienced a serious issue after my stay involving unauthorised use of my bank cards. I raised this with Meliá’s corporate customer service team and followed up several times over the past week. Although I received a formal response, there has been no further communication or attempt to address the situation. As I have another stay booked this week, it’s disappointing that this hasn’t been handled more proactively. I would have expected better communication, particularly given the circumstances.

Was a great experience! Antonnino Helped with early check in and room upgrades. He was great helping book last minute tours. Definitely upgrade to the level. The lounge alone makes it worth it. You relax with complimentary drinks and snacks without feeling stuck in your hotel room. All of the staff were excellent. Only minor complaint are the light switches were believe or not very confusing and you had to figure out how they worked. It was like a secret code lol.

The room was nice and had a good view but The service wasn’t great. Left my room service tray outside my room and it took 2 days for anyone to collect it. The spa was utterly dreadful- the jacuzzi was cold and the entire place needed to be refurbished. I ended up giving up on it after 10 mins and they refused to reimburse me and told me I could come the next day instead (I decided not to).

The reception staff were helpful and friendly but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel was nice and clean. I wish the check-in process had been smoother. However we did arrive early. Overall, we really liked the amenities.

Absolutely gorgeous high-rise building (28 or 29 floors) packed full of amenities. Pretty restaurant downstairs, fantastic cocktails at the upstairs restaurant/bar, terrific spa amenities & especially staff.
My experience would have been different without access to the Level Lounge on the 25th floor, but it made all the difference once I discovered that it functions as a VIP version of the front desk on the 1st floor. Tapas & drinks are available for free all day & the wonderful staff including Luisa & Gustavo handled my various requests immediately- something not possible downstairs, as this is an extremely busy hotel also catering to corporate bookings. Downstairs, you might get into line for a small question & realize after awhile that someone ahead of you is handling a reservation for 15 people.
Besides an incredible view of the city, the Level Lounge handled concierge services, bag check & called both the front desk & maintenance for me on top of giving some great info about local attractions.

Here’s my response to terrible service: Maine, Thanks for your reply, which I find very disappointing and generic. I have run a hospitality business myself and always prided myself on providing excellent customer service and I’m in a customer facing business now. I wouldn’t normally argue over 100 Euros. My point was that I’d agreed for the amount to be taken off my bill and then was threatened with the police being called by a member of staff who seemed to take the whole episode personally and publicly made me feel small. Your compensation offer was derisory. I do not accept it and have no intention of staying with you again, which is very disappointing as it was a much needed break at a time of stress for myself and my wife, which has now been spoiled. I hope that, even though you feel that you have covered yourself in terms of any liability in this respect, you are humble enough to learn from your mistakes. Respectfully but very sadly, Sean Titley

Where do I begin? Well firstly, definitely not 5 star, by any stretch of the imagination! ROOM: From the inappropriate nature of the conversation at check-in, (long conversations about ‘fitting in’ to guests having flown in from abroad was truly odd) to opening the room door directly onto the bathroom (there is literally no door to the bathroom, or on the wardrobe right next to it!) The toilet at the end of the shower had a see through glass door, with a less than a third of the single pane of sliding glass being etched, so absolutely no privacy - sound or otherwise. Which makes for an interesting interaction for any room service, or any maintenance men visiting (which we needed as the shower didn’t work). FOOD: not a place to eat in the evening! First night at the empty ground floor restaurant - was a surly waiter why so surly when he was far from busy was a mystery. The 24th floor restaurant provides a good selection at breakfast, but that’s as far as it goes. We booked for our final evening to catch the sunset and were the only ones there, again! Nevermind, we thought, at least we will be served in a timely manner! Err wrong. The cocktails selected from their menu were wrong (for future reference there is no Campari or orange in a white negroni - which becomes, well, pink). We each ordered a main meal with a gap of nearly half an hour between the first and second plate being delivered. They clearly realised the experience was sub-optimal, and agreed to comp the meal. We headed out by taxi and had a lovely meal at El Salon. The cherry on the cake was that the promise of the comped meal was reneged upon at check out by the less than delightful Abdul, who claimed he was the duty manager, but without either the demeanour or commitment to customer service one would expect from a 3 star hotel let alone 5! We had intended to leave our luggage there as we took a last look at the city centre, but as our trust had been broken, did not feel safe to entrust them with our belonging. So yes, we will remember Barcelona for many reasons, the art (the Mirò Foundation well worth the detour) the architecture (Park Güell was a last minute but worthwhile addition to our itinerary), the amazing food and welcoming service at Bestia and El Salon, however this hotel, well that’s another story!

Fantastic hotel excellent service especially Antonio in the level checkin . He was amazing and couldn’t recommend enough such a deserving young man who made our stay perfect and special. The hotel staff are all polite and rooms , food and service is impeccable - another shout out to Antonio - thank you Joanne & Richard
