We really enjoyed our stay here, some of the poor reviews on here must be fake. I'll give you a really honest review here so listen up!
The hotel itself is clearly older than the likes of H10 Rubicon which is just down the promenade so obviously is more tired than those places.
But, it is a 3 star hotel that, based on its position looking out towards Lobos and Fuerteventura is real value for money, if you take a Seaview room you are literally the width of the promenade from the ocean.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, the restaurant food choices are vast, the amount plentiful and the quality is impeccable.

Some other reviews state that the food is fine if you're French?? Rubbish.

I had Paella for lunch most days, Canadian Rabbit Stew one day and there was literally canarian potatoes mojo rojo and Verde out every single day. Along side all of this local cuisine there was also alot of salad, pasta, chicken, meat, fish.

If anything, rather than French there is a lot of German things like schnitzel and Pork etc.

The pool is clean and spacious, the pool bar has things like pizza, chips and burgers at lunch time. We had a lot of lager and cocktails up there daily and I'd argue with the people that say it's watered down.

Staff were helpful and cheery. We certainly will not hesitate to book here again. It's a lovely hotel in our favourite area of Lanzarote.

If you want to be directly in Playa Blanca it's not for you. But we prefer to be out of the hustle and bustle and live the walk down to the centre.

Myself and two daughters both full time working Mums and in serious need of a break, had the best time at this hotel. The hotel didn’t feel like a typical all-inclusive, which we saw as a huge positive—and had a more relaxed and authentic atmosphere. The food was consistently good, with plenty of choice and quality throughout our stay. I don’t eat meat and was very happy with the fish, vegetables and salad, and being able to sit outside the main restaurant was a real bonus. One of the highlights was the beautiful outdoor sunbathing areas set among the rocks just outside the hotel—such a unique and peaceful spot to sit, read and unwind. There is also a sandy area with safe access to the sea which was another highlight of our holiday. The staff were fantastic without exception and the whole place had a very laid-back vibe. The Tropicana tapas next to the hotel was excellent for a cold beer and the food looked fab, though we didn’t try anything. If you, like us, are used to travelling often, it’s worth keeping expectations realistic—this is a 3-star hotel doing a great job and for us provided a great last minute escape to the sun.

What a lovely stay we had at this hotel. From when we arrived late evening and they sent us straight for dinner before checking us in to make sure we were feed to check out we had nothing but great attention from all staff ! The rooms are always cleaned and comfortable and the food varied for all tastes. Hot and fresh products ... We stays for 7 night and or though early season the entertainer team worked hard ! Especially Leonardo who went out of his way to chat to guests and was such a polite friendly young man. We will definitely be returning to this hotel but for ten nights this time as it went far to quick haha. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday enjoyable

Visited this hotel for a week from 1st March. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very welcoming and polite lady on reception who explained where our room would be found. Quick and easy check in. Room was spacious and clean. Couple of silly things that were missing like plugs for the bath and basin. No fridge either but not really an issue. Beds were comfortable enough. The hotel was clean enough but very run down and in need of a revamp. FOOD - not the best food. Lacking in quality and quantity on an evening. The roof also leaked in the restaurant when it rained on one of the evenings we ate in. We ended up eating out 5 nights out of the 7 we were there. The pizza and chips were ok in the pool bar on a lunchtime but quickly went cold. Breakfast was ok. DRINKS - the drinks were fine. Decent enough beer. Very poor lighting on an evening. Plenty of lights but none working which was quite dangerous on an evening particularly around the wooden bridge area on the way to and from the pool bar. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you're British and enjoy meeting other people as a very strong foreign contingent, particularly French. Nothing against foreigners but because of the language barrier difficult to make friends. Hardly any British people here whilst we were there. Can't comment on the pool/s as too cold to use due the weather not being great. The setting of the hotel is lovely looking out over the sea to Fuerteventura with a 40 minute walk along the promenade into the town. Can't really comment too much on the entertainment on an evening as we went out and was finished by the time we got back. Enjoyed the break but wouldn't come back to this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Mónica. We booked a sea view room and loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves. Our room was basic but comfortable. The bathroom could have done with better ventilation but that was the only downside. We loved the food here, we eat everything and appreciated the choice. Some of the meats were superb, plenty of salad and veggies and lots of choice for dessert. I don’t think we ate a single thing that we didn’t enjoy. We didn’t brave the pool but loved the sunbeds overlooking the ocean. The pool bar staff were amazing, the animation team worked hard and although we were some of the few British people there at the time (mostly French and German) we never felt excluded. The drinks were quite strong and I loved the freshly made mojitos made with fresh mint a little bit too much! The hotel is located about 30 minutes walk from Playa Flamingo which is an easy stroll along the promenade. There is a bus stop 10 minutes walk away which takes you into Playa Blanca for €1.30 (card accepted). We paid to use the spa, €10 each for 90 minutes. The spa is a little tired and could do with a repaint and freshen up and unfortunately the steam room wasn’t working but on the whole it was reasonable value for money. We would definitely come back here for a relaxing holiday!

First off a disclaimer, storm Emilia made a visit while I was there and it rained 6 of the 7 days 🫤

And if you're expecting 4 or 5 star service, you're going to be disappointed. Think of it as a budget holiday, its not going to wow you, but its nice for a week away on a budget

My room 1111, was large and had a great view of the Atlantic and the islands.
The bed was awful and I ended up sleeping on the couch after the first night
There was no plug for the bath
Door handles were hanging off the doors
You had to pay for AC remote, luckily it was cold lol

But the worse part of the room was that instead of AC, they have ceiling fans and if any of the rooms around you have them on, the noise is annoying as hell and just drones on and on.

Food was good, never struggled to get anything to eat and some of it was rather nice.

As it rained for most of the holiday the entertainment was a bit limited, but the young lady did a good job of trying, I was trying to see her name tag, but failed at every attempt. If the hotel sees this, please pass on my thanks, she always took the time to chat and see if I wanted to join in, which is quite rare these days. And if you reply, let me know her name :)

The staff are all very good and a credit to the hotel, never saw a grumpy person, they all had a smile and were happy to help.

Location is out of the way, youll be walking 30mins to nowhere, but thats also nice in itself

I struggled on how to review this hotel, is it basic but also very good at being basic. But you really need to either get a handyman in or get your maintenance team working.

Dont expect much when you go and you wont be disappointed, this isnt a luxury hotel but its a good hotel.

The Royal Monica hotel was fabulous. On check-in I was given an upgrade. The staff were so welcoming and couldn't do enough to facilitate guests. From ensuring food was available on late arrival outside of buffet times to a packed breakfast on early checkout. I would go out of my way to be a return guest with this hotel. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Quick, easy, friendly check in.

Excellent choice in main restaurant. Meat, fish or pasta at every meal, with the usual sundries. Good salad choice. Plenty of coffee machines & self serve soft drinks, wine & beer.

Snack bar (at pool) also has a good choice, pizza, toasties, salad, deserts, ice creams.

Bar service at pool is quick & in good size (330ml) beakers. Pool bar is also the evening entertainment room & there was plenty of seats/ tables, with extra outside.

Evening entertainment is typical all inclusive and is reasonable.

Daytime entertainment is not my thing, but i was still asked if i would like to join in by friendly staff.

Location has not much around. It is 45 minutes walk along a nice coastal path to the marina, but, this hotel delivered everything i needed.

The stay was lovely, and the food was quite nice. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I would like to offer a special commendation to the gentleman at the reception desk. I believe his name is Jesus; he was exceptionally professional, always helpful, and consistently provided excellent service. And, most importantly, he was doing so always with a smile on his face. Great asset to the company 👌
