Visit Fortaleza if you want to meet a celebrity cat. I love the ambiance and the Interior of the place. We didn't eat anything there. But found the location and the look of the place to be wonderful

As guests of "Middle st" at Fortaleza, we had a couple of meals here that were quite good.
There is not a lot of selection but it's usually the sign of freshly prepared meals so it's OK however, we found it hard to make a choice as there was always something that we disliked in the suggestions.
They try to offer a mix of western and local cuisine but the choice of ingredients are sometimes questionable...
For one dinner, as we were starving and were having the hardest time deciding what to eat, we asked if the chef could make us something simple but with just ingredients we liked. He came to our table and managed to make a delicious personalized meal just for us!!!

A great place to relax with a few beers it has a lovely atmosphere. I've not eaten here but what I saw being served up looked pretty appetising too.

Ambience is pretty. Service is fine. Food wasn't really the best and its was very average. Its a pity that the owners have done a wonderful job putting a lovely resturant and not much consideration given to the heart of it.

Delicious fish & chips. Nice ambience inside a small courtyard and selection of drinks. I would suggest on a national holiday when they don’t sell alcohol to forewarn diners when they’re presented with menus including alcoholic drinks and also to remove the ‘cocktail of the day’ from the chalkboard. We weren’t told until we attempted to order wine and it wastes time making choices that aren’t available. Will return!

This hotel is in a perfect location to explore galle fort. The hotel is in a historic building, so you get a real sense of colonial galle.

For starters we had the vegetarian samosas and the king prawns with mango/Chilli neither were that great prawns quite small and Chilli just sweet Chilli sauce and the samosas were more deep fry than bursting with filling. However the mains were amazing!!! Sesame encrusted tuna w/ a tangy salad Japanese style and pan seared tuna with pumpkin mash. I recommend getting 3 mains between 2 people because these two dishes were perfectly cooked and fresh, a real treat for us after month long curry diet. All up with 4 large beers we paid about SR8500.

Nice and relaxing ambiance...food is OK but quite slow to serve to the table. Maybe it's already the best in Galle....my husband asked for a passion fruit juice without ice as he was a bit ill... They made it wrong and the water at the bar was trying just to take out the ice... 'unfortunately', he splashed it all out so had to make a new one... We would give it 5 stars if we didn't see this happening... Overall a nice place to have causal dinner

The hotel is rustic and authentic. It is no generic international standard hotel by any stretch but it is classy, arty and boutique. In a quiet backstreet but an easy walk anywhere around the fort. Breakfast is delicious and very good but can become a bit repetitive if staying more than a day so a couple of other options to select would be good. Service is very good and friendly from staff.

We had the best stay at Prince of Galle. Such a lovely location, with beautiful interior design and thoughtful attention to detail. A real highlight for us was the friendly and genuinely caring service from Rukman, Kapila, and Sarengh, who made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfast was also fantastic. Truly a little gem in Galle, we would definitely come back. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special.

Don’t think twice about staying here, Prince of Galle is a real gem. Effortlessly stylish with classic colonial charm, perfectly located inside Galle Fort with everything within easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional and genuinely go above and beyond. Rooms are small but beautifully done and completely in keeping with the building’s character. The iced tea really is the best, and breakfast is on another level. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful colonial style hotel on a quiet side street within the fort itself. We were lucky enough to stay in the Kings Residence on the top floor. The style of the property is Sri Lankan colonial but with western comforts like air conditioning. The top floor suite includes an open plan sitting area with chairs and access to a small terrace to view the sunset.
The staff are so welcoming and pandered to our every need. The breakfast justifies its billing as superb and is a lovely combination of Sri Lankan flavours served in a western style.

Recently visited here and absolutely loved every minute of my stay. From the moment I arrived, the hotel felt special, a perfect blend of historic charm and refined modern luxury, set in a truly serene atmosphere. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, immaculately maintained, and offered breathtaking views that made the morning memorable. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. They were warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming, making me feel valued throughout my stay. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, from the ambience to the service.
