Kings Landing Hotel in Unawatuna

The King's Landing was in a perfect location for us. Tucked away just off the busy main street but within an easy walking distance to a couple of beaches. Preferring a quieter life, we spent a lot of time on Jungle Beach. There is a vast selection of eateries nearby as well as shops. As soon as we booked, communication from the hotel was excellent. We asked for transfers to be arranged from the airport and this was done with no problem. When we arrived at the hotel we were warmly welcomed. Throughout our stay the staff made us feel very well cared for. The room had a lovely balcony for watching the local peacocks and the room had everything we needed including the most amazing bathroom. Staff kept the room spotlessly clean and left some amazing towel art that made us smile each time we returned. Plugs are as UK and have adapters to save you bringing. There was also a beach bag and beach towels. There was such a big choice of accommodation when we booked but we decided to pay a bit more for good quality which is exactly what we found. Everything is finished to a high standard and staff are always respectful, kind and go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. On Valentines day there was even a cake delivered to our room. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but used eateries nearby. It might be an idea to leave a menu in the rooms. It might have tempted us! I'm sure it would be of high standard as everything else we experienced. This is a small hotel with a very friendly and caring atmosphere. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable!!

We stayed in two separate rooms, the big room on the 3rd floor was gorgeous, felt like being up in the jungle. Gorgeous views all round. The pool room was also lovely but as it's ground floor not so much of a view! Rooms were spotless, brilliant towel art, housekeeping every day, spotless sheets and towels, loads of free bottled water. Staff were friendly but not intrusive and really helpful. The breakfast was fine, the sri lankan breakfast was very tasty but enormous, far too much food but that's a good complaint. Location was excellent, was a bit worried it would be a trek to the beach, it isn't and when you see monkeys, peacocks, beautiful coloured birds etc on the wander down it's not a chore. Would happily stay again.

Cosy small hotel 5 min from the beach, restaurants close by but very quiet in a lush environment. Big bedroom/bathroom/balcony. The staff was very helpful and made our stay special. Excellent breakfast. Can highly recommend it.

A very last minute booking (booked the night before our stay). Fantastic small hotel with just 8 rooms. Slightly more expensive but amazing value as the rooms are gorgeous, bathrooms are to die for (biggest rain shower I’ve ever seen) and the staff were all super friendly and very attentive. Spotlessly clean, free water, towels and beach towels provided, plus we always got a fresh cold juice bought to our room when we returned at the end of the day. Nicely tucked away so very peaceful but only a 5/10 minute walk to restaurants and the beach. Had breakfast on the day we left and whilst it is £10 each it was amazing. Highly recommend - we were only staying 3 nights but stayed for four.

We loved staying here! One of the friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced, amazing breakfast and the rooms are way nicer than they look at the photos. The bathrooms are incredible - the shower is enourmous! It is also newly renovated, so it’s nice and modern

Amazing hotel. Very friendly and attentive staff who cannnot do enough . Local to centre and easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Great breakfast. Biggest bathroom. Extremely comfy pillows and bed. Clean and tidy rooms. Even got a present after our stay. Would recommend.

Good place

Kings Landing Unawatuna is a small cozy hotel which is opened recently. The hotel is clean and it has been maintained properly with care. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are cozy & clean. Bathrooms are huge and each room has an attached one. The property also has a small swimming pool. There is a food menu where you can order from. Parking is bit of an issue, where you can only park 2 vehicles at the property. Overall, the hotel is reasonable for the amount you pay.

The price of these rooms are so reasonable. The staff are so warm and leaving you wanting for nothing - only a few issue: I assume the hotel is new as no signage and it was difficult for our driver to find. The shower would only stay on the rain setting and it would pop off at times too. Rooms have a bit of a damp feel but we did visit during monsoon. Our garden view actually exposed our room to the front entrance so if we lifted the blinds anyone could see directly into our room and straight at the bed.

Otherwise nice stay and a peaceful rest.
