Ridee Villa in Unawatuna

All the staff here are fantastic, including the owner Summit, who greets all his visitors personally and is on hand for any requests. Considering the proximity to the main road, the rooms are not noisy, they are clean, comfy beds and lots of storage. Bathrooms are all good too.
The hotel itself is so atheistically pleasing with artefacts everywhere, lots of sitting areas and a huge back garden to relax in, along with a great pool.
The breakfast was good, fresh eggs cooked to order and endless fresh fruit or savoury delights if that's your preference.
The main road outside is a busy road, but easy enough to cross.
There are so many good restaurants, shops and the beach is clean.
I'm really glad we ended our Christmas trip in Unawatuna and stayed at the Ridee Villas, thank you for making the end of our trip so special.

The hotel is rated number one for a reason, the staff were excellent in every way. The swimming pool was really nice. They provided beach towels every day

If you visit Unawatuna choose Ridee Villa. It is not on the beach but the building is amazing with a local and colonial touch. The manager and his staff are extraordinary, extremely attentive. They fulfill every wishes.
This boutique hotel has a special athmosphere you cannot get from a beachfront hotel.

We stayed with our family (3 generations) and had a wonderful time. The host and staff were amazing and looked after us so well. Rooms are very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Recommend the VIP rooms with your own balcony

The hospitality of owner and staff exceeded my expectations. And Villa is very clean, beautiful, comfortable and stylish.
Location is 2 min walk from beach.
It has nice swimming pool and garden for morning yoga.
Rooms comfortable and beds are too.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. So much to see around the hotel , and location is perfect. The owner genuinely cares about his guests and wants them to experience the best possible experience at his hotel and in Unawatuna. The free trips are a delightful addition and any questions are answered honestly and truthfully, and advice freely given. The owner is a lovely man, and his daughters are beautiful and so friendly and helpful. An amazing chef there who will cook you a delightful seafood meal. He goes personally to the fish market to select the best, freshest produce. We had the best time here, and thoroughly recommend. Would love to visit again.

From the moment you check in you are welcomed by the hotel owner Sumith, an amazing, positive and soulful man who goes out of his way for every single guest. If you get to know him, he will single-handedly make your trip the most perfect and memorable. The Ridee Villa is situated right across from a lane which leads directly to Unawatuna beach. It is the most perfect location, on-beach hotels get grubby, sandy, damp and dirty - which is why this is perfect. It is always sparkling clean as Sumith takes personal pride in his hotel. He has designed and made the hotel from the ground up, mostly with his own hands or his own designs which were then created by carpenters (the unique windows on the 1st floor). He arranges transport complimentary and has an amazing array of classic jaw-dropping vehicles. He ensures that everyone has a perfect day from breakfast on, and is ALWAYS available. Handing out fresh beach towels and soft matts to place down on your sunbeds. (The only people on the beach who had this luxury). From the moment you step up to Ridee Villa you are welcomed by a towering beauty of a building with high pillars that house statues again made by Sumith. Greenery encompassing the beauty of the villa. You walk in and come to reception where you are immediately greeted with a welcome board with your name on greeting you and your family, set up the night before as well as a cool towel and a lovely fresh juice to shake of your travel cobwebs. Once you have quickly checked in you will be shown around the property and be guided to your spacious room, with a bouquet of flowers and a candle lit waiting for you. The interiors are tastefully done and their is a quaint almost-Victorian set of bed curtains which transport you to a fairytale land when you slip into your comfy bed. The bathroom is HUGE, the shower nice and hot, and the room bright, but also easy to make dark and have a peaceful sleep due to the 2 layers of curtains. Please notice all the carvings, paintings and statues because they are all born from Sumiths beautiful mind. Make sure to speak to him and learn from his experience. He is wise beyond years and leaves you feeling inspired to change the world. Mark my words.
