Chongfah Resort in Khao Lak

Had a wonderful stay at the Chongfah beach resort, a fabulous 30 bedroom boutique hotel right on the beach.

We stayed in a garden bungalow which was well appointed with super comfy bed, sunbathing terrace, large rain shower bathroom and outside jacuzzi and shower.

Super breakfast each morning where you can eat overlooking the beach.

Hotel is super clean, quiet and well maintained. What truly made our stay special were the wonderful staff we met each and everyday. They really go the extra mile to make sure you have the best vacation.

The location is away from the main tourist locations but these are an easy 10 minute walk away with plenty of options for eating and shopping.

So many things to see and do here I highly recommend a visit to the Similan Islands and the National parks within the vicinity. We hired motorbikes for 3 days and were able to take off into the hills to explore.

Beautiful location with a wonderfully large room. A pleasant stay just outside the heart of Khao Lak, but with everything nearby. Within walking distance of the beach.

This has to be the most idyllic place to stay. The staff are so attentive and friendly. The room staff are like fairies you never see them you leave your room it’s tidied cleaned and notes and treats left. Our go to place for chilling

Chongfah hotel is a delightful, small (30’ish rooms) oceanfront hotel, with easy side access to the beach.
All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful & gave that lovely Thai warmth that makes you feel at home. Our room was spacious & beautifully clean, which was no easy task with all the sand. Serviced twice daily.
The location was great - come out of the hotel & turn right, it’s a short walk to the busy, touristy town. Turn left out of the hotel and at there are a smaller selection of more local restaurants, beach bars & places for a massage. We particularly enjoyed Bobby’s beach bar, Chicken House restaurant and The One Time Thai Massage (adjacent to Bobby’s).
At low tide, you can walk for 2.5miles along the beach, wading across a couple of estuaries, past the big, chain hotels, to the ‘lighthouse’. For a small fee (20 baht) there is a raft service to cross the first (& deepest) estuary, at high tide.
It is also possible to walk along the more beautiful, quieter beach in the other direction at low tide. After a storm earlier in the year, it is not quite so straightforward but worth it. There is a sea defence / retaining wall in front of the hotel so to access, turn left out of the hotel onto the road & walk to the end, passed Bobby’s beach bar & The One More Thai massage.
Would definitely recommend Chongfah hotel & would happily stay again.

“A perfect hotel for us – a lovely small place with only about 30 rooms, peaceful, well-located, and with really friendly staff. The only downsides for us were that the bed was a bit hard and the air-conditioning unit was quite noisy when trying to sleep, although it was very effective.”

Perfect smaller resort beautiful staff helped us immensely nothing was a problem. Probably the best beachside property we have stayed at In Thailand over the thirty odd years we have been coming. Beach is very clean with minimal plastic as is the property and rooms . There are cheaper options here but the savings are in the location.

The biggest disappointment about this hotel is the breakwaters. All the photos make it look like you're right on the beach when you leave the villa, but that's not the case. You can't walk to the sea, and to get to a proper beach you have to walk for about 15 minutes 🙄
Basically, what we thought was a good deal turned out to be a dud.
Otherwise, everything was great. The service was excellent.
We booked a villa "with beach access" for one night, to celebrate a birthday.
The staff made a cake, and the whole crowd sang "Happy Birthday" 🥰
The slippers aren't disposable 😳
We got them all covered in sand and threw them away, and they asked us for them when we checked out 😱
We had to pay for them. So, if you're looking to leave your room like Bella did when she visited Edward on her honeymoon, you're out of luck. 😅
If that doesn't bother you, everything else is great. 👌👍
