Marina Beach Resort in Lamai Beach

We stayed at this hotel for three days. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room above the reception area. There's no elevator, and the staff offered no assistance. The hotel door faces the roadway, the street. The balcony overlooks the courtyard. The doors and walls are incredibly thin. The sounds of cars and bikes could be heard from the main street (since we were staying at the hotel during the off-season, music from clubs and bars was inaudible; during peak season, I imagine it would be much louder). From the next room, we could clearly hear sounds, including the toilet flushing and sounds from the bathroom.
The room wasn't exactly spotless – mold on the bathroom ceiling, dirty bedding, and only two tired towels. On the second day, we found two cockroaches.
Pros: close proximity to the beach, cleanliness on the beach. The mattresses on the sun loungers were so bad that we had to leave our belongings on the edge.
I don't recommend them.
