Alpha Resort & Spa in Chaweng Beach

Ambience is nice around the pool area… it has a tropical feel. The pool and the public areas close down at 9pm and to find a nice retreat in your room is where we found it challenging. Maybe because we had a basic room(?), but it was quite dirty (we wiped with sanitize wipes and it was all brown and yellow after), bed linen stained, shower and bathroom cramped and worn, and tv very confusing or not working - couldn’t tell. A/C struggled to cool room - it was a hot spell tho….hole in the room door. Make sure you close the door to bathroom to keep heat out since bathroom has clear plexiglass overhead that the sun beats down into. It was just not the kind of sanctuary at the end of the day we looked forward to returning to. We stayed the weekend and were surprised at how very quiet it was, even with an advertised party….although couldn’t really tell if it was happening or not (no colored wristbands, three people there, etc.). Staff were friendly, when approached, and present on WhatsApp for assistance (towel replacement, etc.). Drink prices at pool bar weren’t too bad. Overall, for the price of the room that we paid, I think a better option is to stay some place near, nicer/newer, and maybe get a day pass - that would be enough to get the full experience of the place
