A Wonderful Stay at Golden Wells Residence

We had an amazing stay at Golden Wells Residence in Chiang Mai! The location is perfect — just a short walk from the city center, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and quiet. Our accommodation was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day exploring the city.

One of the highlights was the breakfast — healthy, delicious, and made with fresh organic ingredients. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into everything here. The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming, and we were even greeted by their adorable dog, Harry, who made us feel right at home.

We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely stay again on our next visit to Chiang Mai!

Such a lovely owner, clean rooms, and very spacious suite.
No complaints at all.
The rooms look slightly dated, but that's not actually an issue at all - Don't hesitate to book.

We will probably be staying at this hotel every time we visit Chiang Mai. I highly recommend this place! It is located in a prime location, we walked to the old town and to the old temples and then walked around to the chiang mai gate and to the Saturday night market. Everything you need is in walking distance, as well as many tourist attractions. The room was spacious and very clean, the staff were super friendly and khun Narusa was an amazing lady. It was my husband's birthday, and she upgraded our room for us and left a special treat for us in the room too! We were there during songkran festival, and she also gave us these paper flags that you take to the temple and stick into sand castles for luck. Overall, everything was beyond our expectations! Thank you very much, and hope to see you again soon

Don’t panic as you approach the small streets off the old quarter; the hotel is an oasis of calm quiet living, off the busy streets, close to the canal. From the kind reception, the gracious advice, attentive service, clean, spacious rooms, and good bedding, our stay was a pleasure. The owners actually made box breakfasts for us because our tour pick- up was before their breakfast hours. It’s low key but the location is great, a 2 minute walk from quality street vendors where you can pick up a meal for 2 to 4 can dollars. The night market is a short taxi ride away, perfect for your evening tuk tuk ride! Definitely recommend!

This is a very nice place to stay at. The residence is close to Chiang Mai Gate. We booked a room and there is only one entrance for our room. So, it’s quiet and private. Our room is room 1. It’s spacious and very clean. Just feel like home. The host is very nice and speaks good English.

Highly recommend this B&B and restaurant (you can eat breakfast or lunch here if you are not a guest). See my photos for examples of the fabulous food. They present a limited western menu ( including good smoothie bowls) but as soon as we asked for Thai breakfast they made a new multi course gourmet spread every morning. Fruit always the first course— perfectly ripe and varied. Main course ( and sometimes 2 main courses) with meat ; if you are vegetarian they can accommodate. Third course often a dessert.

We stayed 9 nights. This is quiet, perfectly located, clean. Huge room. Clean and efficient layout. Comfy bed. Lots of light. Quiet aircon. Nice public sitting spaces and super friendly hosts— 2 sisters who own the place. One sister also owns an organic farm if you are interested in a farm tour or food experience.
Located 1 min from night market at Chiang mai gate, around the corner from best Khao soi restaurant. I almost picked a hotel with “canal view” but glad I didn’t. All the traffic and noise is near the canals. This place is on a quiet side street on what I think is the best side of the old quarter to be in.

Very clean and classic rooms that were very comfortable. Bed, bathroom, and kitchen were all good. This hotel is in a good location in the Old Town, close to many restaurants. The staff were very friendly, and also provide a very tasty breakfast. Recommended!

Just a really nice place. Everything is nice, clean, great space and the breakfast is worth waiting for.
Owner and staff are super helpful - a nice and quiet spot in the middle of Chiang Mai where we will definitely come back to.

Very friendly stuff,clean rooms,and interesting breakfast.
In our room the a/c went down so the nice lady receptionist gave us extra room for free only because the a/c went down it was extraordinary and the room's were big and clean anyway best regard to the owners!!

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Very tasty croissant with egg and club Sandwich.
I'm not a big fan of this type American pancake, I prefer European thin one, co except this position everything was super delicious. Thai tea and cappuccino as well.

Super yummy breakfasts, we got pancakes which were really good, and the scrambled eggs which came with yummy potatoes and fresh fruit. Super generous for the price! Good coffee too.

Great place for morning breakfast serving American breakfast, omelets, and pancakes. Good coffee as well set in a wooden house with many interesting antiques and memorabilia.

The Coffee is really good. Thai tea ist avrage and small size for that price.
The Coffee Shop itself is nice and the interior with lots of antique stuff (Like old TVs, old Gas Pump etc....)
They also have a Pool inside and a second Floor

Outstanding...great location (get bottom floor room if you can). Its peaceful, its clean, very friendly and a great location....really love this town, Gord hotel is very close to everything you need, will def be back, ty to the staff, especially the nice guy who is from the Cambodia border area

We walked through this little local street and saw GORD, a very charming hotel with character, like a hidden oasis in a very hot day. So we stopped for lunch. Love the oasis atmosphere, so relaxing. Staff was well trained, so welcoming and friendly. We order three dishes: Ginger chicken with rice was very well crafted, the juicy and tender chicken meat and homemade ginger sauce was so savoury favor; Vermicelli minced pork kra-pao was a must if you look for the local spice; And not to miss tasty and crispy outside and tender on the inside chicken wings.
We will definitely try the hotel next time. 👍❤️

Absolutely loved my stay here at this hotel. The service was amazing. One morning I had an early pick up for a tour they, made me a sandwich to go. So unexpected and so sweet. They were very helpful with locations and recommending various activities. Would stay here again. Central location as well, so lots of options with food, Sunday market etc.

Great hotel for the price. The owners/front desk employees are so helpful and kind. Ideally located near night markets, temples and nightlife activities, but still very quiet at night. Clean, spacious rooms with basic amenities. Didn't get the opportunity to eat breakfast or at the onsite restaurant, but the outside areas are nice and relaxing.
