The hotel was great location, and old hotel . So quiet easy to go around.
Room was spacious. But towels were stained. Very busy hotel. And breakfast was very good especially halal food was noted too.
A very comfortable old hotel close to the main Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. At check in you had to leave a 2000 baht deposit.
Tip- make sure you take care of the receipt as you will need it on leaving.
The room was spacious and very quiet. Great blackout curtains too meant a really good night's sleep for me.
Housekeeping was efficient and very friendly, and the room was always cleaned even if I returned...
It's former glory days are gone. It was once a very nice place. Now, it's an inexpensive hotel and you get your money's worth. I stayed for 6 nights in Dec 2025. I paid about $40 USD per night.
The maintenance is shoty but everything works. The room was clean but the carpets on the 12th floor needs replacement or at least a deep cleaning.
The location is great. It is walking distance to the old town...
Amazing location so close to walk to the Night bazaar and many restaurants. The cleaner looked so busy with so many rooms not sure if they were short staffed. Great view and swimming pool. Variety for breakfast was amazing.
First let me say the location is unbeatable. I was pleasantly surprised to receive good service. My friend booked a room for me (under his name) but sent an email informing them I would be the person to check-in. Reception accepted it and even upgraded me to a better room on the 22nd Floor. The room was clean, very comfortable and spacious. And what a view. The pool was great and so was the sauna....

The room was clean and quiet, and the location was convenient.
The hotel gym is on the fourth floor and is fully equipped. The free weight area and the machines are in two separate spaces, and there's even a fantastic ab machine! It's a dream come true for fitness enthusiasts! They also provide free bananas for a quick carb boost.
The Chiang Mai Marriott is located outside the Old City, but the location is still quite good. It's about a 10-minute walk to Tha Phae Gate and Warorot Market, and about 15 minutes to Chiang Mai Gate. The hotel is right above the Chang Khlan Road night market, which has tons of street food every night. Getting around is super convenient, whether you take a tuk-tuk or a ride-hailing service.

The hotel's location is super convenient, close to everything with plenty of bars, convenience stores, and street food stalls nearby. The room facilities and cleanliness were also good. However, it's definitely not cheap; even during the off-season, it was still over 1000 per night.
The hotel's location is great, the surroundings are lively, and it's within walking distance of the old city. There are various restaurants, massage parlors, and a night market nearby. The hotel breakfast is also good with a wide variety of options.
Came to Chiang Mai for New Year's Eve and, by chance, booked this place. The location is excellent, right above the night bazaar, making it super convenient for food, entertainment, and massages.

The room was very clean and quiet, and they had delicious dried mangoes. The pool has a huge water slide. The lady at the front desk spoke some Chinese, which made communication very easy.
Very nice stay at Shangri-la Chang Mai for 12 days. The location to many tourist attractions and restaurants is ideal, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite small and on the basic side but was kept very clean by housekeeping. I loved the water pressure from the shower, hot in a few seconds and very powerful. Breakfast was good, several new dishes each day and numerous international...
Book the premier king room for our honeymoon in Chiang mai. Very good services from all the staff. Location is very good where night markets are just walking distance. Room is huge and clean. Lobby is big and look majestic. It’s just a little pity that the furnitures looks old and towels looks very well used. I had a towel that had a hole . Overall it’s still a very nice hotel. I would stay here again...
I always love staying at Shangri-La hotels wherever I go; it's probably a sentimental attachment, a preference! The antique-style lobby creates such an immersive atmosphere, and the wide variety of delicious food makes me feel right at home! All in all, I just love it!
This hotel must be one of the largest in downtown Chiang Mai. It's a 10-minute walk from Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, surrounded by many restaurants and shops, making it incredibly convenient. The airport is just a 10-15 minute drive away. The hotel offers plenty of family-friendly activities, and the pool is large, ranging from shallow to deep, with spray fountains. New, modern and beautifully designed hotel. Breakfast was delicious with good variety.
Minor downsides: small elevators (only two), relatively small pool, and soundproofing could be improved.
Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend.
The rooms were comfortable, and my kids absolutely loved the pool – they didn't want to leave after three days! The best part, though, was the kids' club. As a solo parent traveling with children, it was a lifesaver, allowing me to go shopping and relax. It was truly ideal. The kids even said they want to stay here again next time we're in Chiang Mai.
This hotel is a must-stay if you're traveling with kids. We arrived at 11 AM, and they kindly let us check in early. They even prepared an adorable elephant welcome, which was a lovely touch and made us feel so valued! The kids' play area is huge!
We had an amazing stay! The environment and facilities were excellent, especially the kids’ play area and swimming pool—our child had so much fun.
Breakfast was delicious with a great variety. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.
Truly grateful for the wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back again!
I was worried it would be cramped for three people, but it turned out to be spacious enough for four! The sofa is huge, easily big enough for two to sleep on, and there's also a large square chaise lounge. Kicking back and watching TV with a drink was just incredibly comfortable.
The hotel is a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport and a 15-minute walk to the Old City, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I stayed in a corner flat for a week, and the room was very spacious. Housekeeping was excellent, keeping it spotless every day. I would give this hotel 3 stars. We stayed in executive room for one night. The building is quite old and doesn’t really match the price we paid. The location is okay, but for this price range there are many more convenient options nearby and in downtown. We had a room with a rather extraordinary view, which was a nice highlight, but the bathroom was very small. The staff were friendly and helpful...
Other than the fact that they are still using room keys and thus limit you to one key per room and not using the key card technology, the hotel is pretty good and the location is excellent. The rooms are pretty big and so are the washrooms.
It's a very old hotel that needs some update! Rooms are nice, though and service is good. Food is awful, only breakfast was good. It is located in a normal place, nothing fancy.
Nice hotel, very clean and tidy. Great staff that are happy, polite and friendly.
Facilities are very good, rooms are the same and have all you need.
Laundry service available, or use the one at the bottom of the road.
ATM machine in front of the hotel to the left, down the steps into the car park.
Short walk right at the bottom of the road to the night market.
You can tell that the hotel is old but it is very clean and it was a great place to stay. The rooms are very large and we received a welcome basket of snacks when we arrived. There are spas and a laundromat close by, and it's not a far walk to the wonderful Anusarn Night Market.
Great location, staff is very friendly and checked us in early in the morning after we arrived on the overnight bus. Big breakfast buffet with lots of options. Rooms are big and clean. The pool is great!

Located near the old city, and very close to the Anusarn Market (Night Bazaar), the higher-floor rooms offer stunning panoramic views of the entire ancient city. I stayed here for a week and the hotel was excellent in every aspect. The pool was very clean and got sun all day, perfect for tanning. The staff were also incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. The gym could use a few more pieces of equipment, like a power rack.
The InterContinental Chiang Mai is perfect for families with kids. It's a quiet place with a large, lush garden, offering plenty of space for children to play. Excellent service and very clean. The surrounding area is convenient. A nice hotel.
The front desk and doormen were all very welcoming, offering standard five-star service. The room size is smaller than a Marriott, but the design is well-thought-out. The pool is beautiful, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of items, though the taste is average, and the fruits are all common and inexpensive types.

Very nice and convenient location next to all the action in Chiang Mai. Nice pool and gym. Would stay again
Very old rooms, but serviceable. Worth the price just for the location, night markets are right at the doorstep. Noise cancelling is poor, lift is bad. Gym is tiny with only 2 treadmills.
There seems to be daily free chocolate fondue at certain hour but the hotel staff did not inform.
Room service and cleaning staffs are great.
I have booked this hotel multiple times for my mum and my mum truly enjoys every stay here. It's in a separate building, not the main hotel, and is larger than the standard room type. The bathroom has a bathtub, but the decor doesn't seem particularly new. Eating breakfast every day wasn't very convenient.
Honestly, the hotel's location is excellent, right by the Chang Khang Road Night Bazaar. Everything you need is right outside the lobby. My first check-in was smooth enough, but the room change later on was a nightmare. They wouldn't give me the room key until after 2 PM, which is fine, I guess. But I was literally sitting in the lobby right in front of them. The room was ready, yet they wouldn't bring...

Hard to describe, definitely avoid this place. You get what you pay for, and this is a perfect example. There were huge cobwebs in the wardrobe and two broken hangers. Whatever you do, don't book the breakfast option; it's absolutely terrible. We were given a room at the very end of the hall, but the male staff members were all very nice.
i love the swimming pool!!!so beautiful and large. The location very close to one nimman. But the light in the room was not very bright.
The hotel is quite old. While the price was relatively cheap, I forgot to check its renovation date. It was supposed to include breakfast, and the front desk confirmed it, but when I went to the restaurant in the evening, they couldn't find my room number. I really dislike such awkward situations. Breakfast isn't worth much, and there are plenty of good places to eat outside, but if it's included,...
An excellent hotel in every aspect, from dining to the front desk to room service, and safety, including the hardware facilities. Everything was extremely satisfying.
Pros
- good location in between Nimman and old city, walking distance to both
- complete amenities in room and in hotel overall, aligned with 4 star hotels
- since its an old building, everything is big - room, lobby etc
Cons
- design is stuck in the 70s, not in a good way
- parking is quite limited
Great location but a little aged but still the location is won it and it almost close to the oldtown, the namia one and airport as well.

Great location, Lovely reception area, terrible hotel. The rooms are in need of huge investment.
We had a power cut for at least 6 hours, we checked out before power was restored, which did not help. As a result, the breakfast service was badly disrupted.
Reception was overwhelmed with complaints. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Perfect location
Staff were absolutely brilliant
Room service food was great
Linen service was incredibly fast
We did the Mae hong son loop for 5 days, and we left out bags at the hotel free of charge because we were returning for a night
💯 would recommend this place.
If anything the rooms are slightly dated, but we learned to actually love this.
The hotel is conveniently located near the old town. You do need to cross some busy streets to get to old town, but this is not really a huge concern. The hotel also provides a dedicated shuttle bus to the mall, but there are way too many people using it. The breakfast was not bad. It's convenient living in this hotel
The hotel's location is excellent, right next to One Nimman, making it super convenient for shopping, dining, and massages! The room size is generous, and the service is top-notch. A special shout-out to Nam, who was incredibly warm and welcoming! The gym and pool facilities are also more than adequate.
Location is the best thing of this hotel. It is right smacked in the heart of the tourist area with many cafe, Michelin restaurants, shopping and Spa.
The only this that upset me about this stay is that the hotel which is supposed to be good for their 24hrs use room (check-out within 24hrs of your check in time) but i was advised that i can only check into my room at 7pm as the previous will only check...
The overall hygiene was good, but they don't provide slippers or toothbrushes. Luckily, I came prepared, otherwise, it would have been quite inconvenient. The room was on the third floor facing the street, so it was noisy, but they had earplugs in the room, which helped on the second night.
Great location, rooms are nice and large. A bit pricey though. Low score for value.
This hotel is in the absolute best location! Nimman One is right downstairs, and there's a night market right below too. Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center is just across the street, and Chiang Mai University is within walking distance. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Chiang Mai for the first time!

This was a great stay for a family with little kids. Breakfast had a lot of variety but wasn't anything special - basic buffet style. I wish there were more Thai options.
Hotel is a little old and dated. Room size is big but modern comfort is missing: no bedside plugs for phone charging. No coffee machines. Taps and showers are old and slightly rusted. Garden, cafe and pool area all absolutely excellent, very relaxing after a long haul flight, bedroom clean and comfortable. Restricted food options due to private function in evening was only disappointment. Enjoyable stay, thank you.
Hotel also used by groups, so standard is good and it's rather cheap. We had a corner suite which was quite large, but a little bit old fashioned. Breakfast is good. The pool and garden are quite nice. A 10-15 min. Walk to the Maya mall and nimman area.
Tucked in away from the chaos around the Maya Mall but within walking distance. Lovely landscaped grounds with beautiful pool. Be aware of the hotels in this area are all over a flight path so you will definitely hear lots of airplane noise.

The hotel's location is excellent, right near Chiang Mai's Old City Chinatown. You can walk to all the Old City attractions from here. The price is very good value for money, and the room was clean and very quiet. The only downsides were that the bed was a bit hard, and for a double room, the bed was a little small. So, try to book a king-sized bed if you can.

A very Basic hotel with only one lift at mezzanine floor, so rather inconvenient (they do help carry up the luggage. Room sound proofing is poor, can hear clearly conversation along corridor . However, the hotel is surrounded with many cafes, eateries, traditional massage, and shops.
Good price Good location. Not too far walking distances to shopping streets, restaurants , convenience stores.
Right on Nimman Road, clean and hygienic. Step out and you're in the heart of the action!
Excellent location, very convenient for visiting nearby attractions, no major flaws.

The hotel is not very big, but the service is decent. The breakfast is extremely basic and definitely needs improvement. The biggest plus is the excellent location.
The hotel is really very strategically located, just opposite Tha Pae gate and there are festive activities going on. As the view facing the main road is blocked by a row of shophouse you dont get get any view but also less traffic noise. Traffic is really heavy in front of the hotel. Room is really basix, dont expect much toiletries and room is quite dark. Breakfast is in the middle of the hotel which...
Located opposite Tha Phae Gate, very convenient for visiting the Sunday Night Market and Tha Phae Gate.
The room is okay overall, nothing too fancy.
The staff also provided good service.

The noise is so bad in this hotel, everything echoes throughout from the reception and dining area, people stay up there talking, laughing and drinking which is fine however the tile and concrete walls make everything echo and then the kitchen staff are up setting up for breakfast at 5:30am. ...
good locstion easy to go any place
The location is good, a 2 minute walk to the Sunday night market. The hotel is a bit old and the water in the bathroom is not hot enough.
